Seriously one of my biggest gripes with poe. It just looks funny and I ALWAYS feel like i should be seeing more. Particularly on the top half of the screen. This and its insurmountable learning curve... I know I'm just crap at it... But I just can't dedicate diploma level of study into a game. I need some amount of forgiveness if I just want to throw some gems together and play thorugh the game or it just isn't gonna stick. I want complexity, but only when I'm ready for it. The complexity in poe has always had me burn out before even completing the campaign.
@@MARTiiiiNx7 if you remove white/mahic loot from item filter, it still being spawned. rempving wtie drops from spawning would increase performance drastically. i.e. game rolld dice for loot as aways bu spawns only what applies to current loot filter. would be a blast to have such option.

What i'm most excited about is how much experience they have after making the first game, it really shows how well they understand their own game just by looking at these two boss fights, I wish more video game companies played their own game and were able to criticize their shortcomings

New leagues don't touch the characters at all, just occasionally add or more a few things in the skill tree. New leagues only add a few new bosses, not seven acts worth. This all will just make the game playable again (...for a while...), also easier while we're at that and really it's not a whole new game, there is still the shitty atlas, probably the same passive skill system with a few different nodes here and there, new maps and pretty much original new acts which are long overdue. Played PoE for more than 4000hrs, I fucking hate Diablo 3 aka RNG simulator, Lost ARK on Russian VPN is just as unsatisfying as swallowing chilli peppers whole at this point and really... the only ARPG that's going to be released in the near future where it's just tangentially worth to be excited for is Diablo 4. Sad truth but GGG milked PoE to death and it's just gonna be a matter of time until PoE2 will be flooded with bots again. This used to be a game where people would come together who love playing a hardcore game with good mechanics and it's own little quirks. Now I can literally faceroll to 95 with 5 chars within two weeks, it just became a big joke, but have fun with this disappointment go ahead.

this was live gameplay, this was not footage, they even forgot level up their skills gems, the audiance told them level up your skill gems, and then they did, so it was no recording i promise you my man
this new socketing system is perfect for a filthy casual like me. my biggest gripe with poe was having to deal with messing with all the links on gear.
Yeah PoE is the Warframe of dungeon crawlers. Developers who were passionate from the jump, had a clear vision, and didn't allow monetization to get in the way of the actual gameplay of the game. Amazing job by the devs. Hyped for PoE2. Will be waiting till 2021 though which sucks

I am curious if we will be able to keep our Auras activated while in beast stance, or whatever they call it. Because you can make some really strong builds both ways.

PoE has absolutely fantastic music. It is one of the best aspects of the game imo. The Venarius soundtrack is so dope. Or the Uber elder fight. That voice acting with the music, to quote Salad Fingers; "it's almost orgasmic".

I recently realized I had two issues with the game. 1) spamming the same damn attack from level 30ish to end game got very irritating. 2) The atlas was frustrating - one character might easily push tier 10 without having to buy any maps and another character might stop seeing any maps drop around tier 4. Consider both of my irritations fixed. Thank you GGG. You are so damn amazing and you have a fan for life.
Conquerors of the Atlas was announced in a separate video, but for me has become one of the main improvements I’m looking forward to in 3.9. Also, having up to 9(?) six links certainly removes the need to spam 1 attack all the time. Within the 14 minutes during this video, I was already theorizing a potential ball lightning CoC Glacial Cascade/ consecrated path EE inquisitor. It sounds appalling now, but could be amazing with the changes.
I'm really impressed that you seemed to have made the gems more streamlined, but still kept some of the complexity and looks to have even added more options.

Although i love poe one thing i disliked abt it was how for the most part your entire character is built around one skill, im hoping in this with how the skill gems work you'll actually be able to viably use diff skills more simultaneously than you could in poe 1

@@cyrusmagnus Just the way you said you'll play the 10 chapters then move onto the 7 new chapters sounds like you're playing 17. I think they talked about it before about the difficulties in converting the gem and links system but doubt they'll keep the old system for the old game, doesn't really makes sense especially when you get to the same end game atlas while one person has 1 or 2 six links skills vs 9, and playing with friends, just doesn't make sense. "Path of Exile 2's characters are a new set of Exiles who fall into the same class archetypes", from their page, so yea new exiles. What you mentioned was pretty much the opposite so made sense saying so, most of the info is easily found on the poe2 page.
2 Seperate campaigns, you can choose which one you'd like to play, not sure if you want the new archetypes you have to play the new campaign or what, but all the new systems, gem changes and engine updates and whatnot are of course also applied to PoE 1. It'll be the same game and the endgames from both campaigns will coexist in the same league. Well, Blizzard has alot of resources, and Diablo 4 isn't close to be finished, by the end , Diablo 4 will be far superior. I love PoE too though, so this looks neat!

GGG actually care about players and their opinions and that's why they can deliver a top quality product. I've been playing PoE for couple of years now and it never gets boring. Every new league we were getting new content while D3 was just reseting ladders and changing stats a bit. Blizzard is a corporation and therefore has different approach to players.

I like it when large bosses have health bars that stay at the top of my screen. Not all bosses just the big ones. That way i can see how much dps my minion or whatever is doing with out standing still with my mouse over the enemy who can 1 hit me lol.
Wow well done guys! As someone who has played since there was only 3 acts I have always found it hard myself coming back to play it over and over each season when particularly the first 2 acts just looks so run down, and mates I have tried to get into the game over the years have always just found it to hard to stick it out through those initial acts. This looks, sounds and feels amazing! And a subtle thing I want to mention is it's nice to see the gameplay slowed down a bit. Obviously early levels so i wont get my hopes to high but end game the whole blink around everywhere instantly kill stuff until you run into a mob that instantly kills you is kind of a turn off. Man it's nice to see it slowed down a bit to actually enjoy the look and feel, I really hope that's taken on board for the later aspects of the game.

6 link item will take away bit ,but it will also gain Replay value a lot, there were tons of builds i wish to play but getting full 1 character 6 link its hard enough yet all of them
There will be other statistics that define an item's worth. It's a good idea to move away from the very restrictive system currently in place. It's one of the biggest reasons that make PoE feel too much work to be fun for me in its current state.
@@jyidorne8042 THIS. POE is a lot of work to grind to get your characters geared well. Farming/trading 1500 fusings for the 6 link takes forever. I'm glad this won't be a feature anymore.
It's a design philosophy thought I had hearing the voice-over comments as well: some of those early bosses may be showing their age, but don't forget not every level 11 in PoE 2 will have a million hours into PoE 😅
Yeh those lanky beasts all having the same death animation and seeing all their bodies spread out exactly the same looks odd. But considering this is a very early build I'd like to think they will eventually adress small details like that
Yes I would imagine dying animations mixed with the physics engine will be a thing. Probably just not on the too of the list of things to get done. This was almost a year ago though. It has to be much more "baked and ready"
@@alibyte agreed. Every dev studio has their own process for making a game just like every band has their own process for writing songs. I'd like to think that considering the amount of time he spent taking about the new physics engine that ragdoll/weighted physics deaths will definitely be in there. That was honestly my only gripe with the first game. The death animations got on my nerves because they had no physics. I thought for such a pretty game that's crazy!

Best game of its genre out there. Be proud for what you have achieved. Amazing team, staying fair for so many years despite the countless waves of greedy publishers. Keeping content fresh and amazing. Literally cant even begin to compare to other similar games. Its a true successor to Diablo 2 (to me D3 doesn’t really exist - its like a sad dream I choose to forget).
You sir are spot on.. It feels just like early 2000's whenever I see it. It has a few good ideas (spell gems/large skill tree) trapped in a substandard core game. Crap graphics, sound, story, voice actors, movement, the list goes on.. As for naming this POE #2.... Thats seriously just taking the piss out of loyal players like yourself..
yeah diablo 3 is garbage and d4 looks like more of the same. More of a dynasty warriors clone where you run through hundreds of enemies like they are made from tissue paper than an actual diablo game. Always hated D3, never got why it is so acclaimed.

You'll realize that when you play season after season and try new characters. They're all the same because the gems are all the same. It feels empty and pointless.
@@RiJMC17 I see you haven't discovered the skill tree. While ingame, press P to bring it up. You get a skill point for each level, and also sometimes from completing quests. Each class starts in a different area of the skill tree, so it matters a lot. For instance, it's difficult to get a lot of spell damage on a duelist. Different parts of the tree will also naturally give more of one specific stat like intelligence, so a duelist will rarely have enough intelligence to wield a good wand. It will absolutely blow your mind how much stronger your character will get when you actually use your skill tree.
From what I'm seeing here, this game looks incredible. I haven't enjoyed any top-down RPGs since Diablo 2, but this looks and sounds very appealing to me. I like the control you have on your character and it does not feel "too" spammy with your keys. I have seen a lot of PoE footages of people litterally just running and spamming 1 key. That is not an appealing gameplay to me, but I understand there is more to it. Keep at it and I will gladly support this. Cheers!
People in those poe footages try to clear everything as fast as they can because its pretty much a money grinding game and you can't really do much without currency. A lot of people play it slowly but they usually struggle a lot in the endgame because they can't buy better gear for their build
Hey bro i suggest you to try at least one time with proper build like Arc witch or necro , the footage you see is very fast builds or some top streamer content. For me i make my own builds and play solo self found, my characters are average speed but can clear all content eventually before the league ends. The game itself is just amazing, you can't believe how much content the developer pumps out!
I've been one of path of exile's biggest critics and I am even happy to see these changes. Hopefully the lack of sockets allows them to make each item feel more significant. 90% of the items that drop in the current game aren't even work looking at, the game would be a lot better with a tenth of the drop rate but each item is worth picking up.
On other hand it can be dumbification in some cases, since you would no longer can have two+ active skill gems in 6 link. Yea there would be CWDT, CWC metagem jazz, but flexibility of system goes down overall. Instead of sandbox with limitless possibilities for knowledgeable player, you get another "gamy" system in place to fool proof mass market.
@@Yakez42 my opinion: most of the player base will be ok losing the ability to socket 2 gems into same links so that sockets/links are less of a headache and in the process making random gear drops more impactful and lowering the amount of useless drops compared to current were 90% of drops are not worth even picking up partly cuz of bad sockets/links.
I don't think there's ever going to be a situation where each item is worth picking up in any game like this. Having said that, they could stand to drastically reduce the amount of useless shit that drops. There's no reason for 200 garbage items to drop at the end of a delve.
If you think Diablo 4 will be any good - you're delusional. Blizzard can't make good games anymore. They make "popular" lame games. Especially, when it comes to making a good ARPG - they can't compete with GGG. I watched the D4 demo and a couple of interviews with its devs, and I got to realise that D4 is stillborn for me. The atmosphere creates something I lost scince I was a lot younger and played diablo 2. D3 and as far as I seems like D4 are not able to recreate this weird feeling now as an adult. But however it seems that you can and I guess for a lot of reasons this is brilliant. Looking forward to play poe2. (Ah and I watched the guy on youtube who programmed the dynamic grass effects .... insane!)
I was a little disappointed with how Diablo 4's shapeshifting looked... this shapeshifting is what we need. Way more excited about PoE 2 than D4 at this point. PoE 2 gives me way more D2 vibes than D4 does and Blizzard is trying to actively make D4 feel more like D2...

Still think D4 looks top notch and will feel smoother and more solid than PoE. PoE will have more in depth systems , so that’s where it will shine, but visually speaking , D4 is top from looking at both previews

Wow. It looks beautiful. Like another person said, it looks nice and matte, not so shiny. I love the dark mood to it. It's great to see that the bosses take a little while to kill. I wish the minions were the same! I just abhor/HATE/detest how levels become a blast fest and screen vomit of effects. I would much rather have tougher, smarter, more challenging minions than mass groupings that are just paper targets easily blasted through. Basically, slower, more calculated battles. Quality over quantity of enemies, please.
I never even considered shape-shifting, and the moment he did it I was like "YESSSSS!!". Super hyped. Now please make stance-based skill trees so you don't have to juggle two builds' worth of skills in just 7 slots. (I know, it could be 7+8 with the alt set, but I don't want to hold shift the entire time I'm ...shifted. eheh).
always hated the attackspeed meta. I couldn't get over how absurdly ridiculous swinging a weapon 11+ times a second looked. This looks a lot better. Like your skill actually matters, not just your build and items.

But that doesnt work because 1 its frustrating to find trades. 2 you can only get gear by trading or by gambling. 3.the community already has a trading platform its just annoying to use. So yeah sometimes GGG behave like kids, in the context of the campaign or trading.

This all will just make the game playable again (...for a while...), also easier while we're at that and really it's not a whole new game, there is still the shitty atlas, probably the same passive skill system with a few different nodes here and there, new maps and pretty much original new acts which are long overdue. Played PoE for more than 4000hrs, I fucking hate Diablo 3 aka RNG simulator, Lost ARK on Russian VPN is just as unsatisfying as swallowing chilli peppers whole at this point and really... the only ARPG that's going to be released in the near future where it's just tangentially worth to be excited for is Diablo 4. Sad truth but GGG milked PoE to death and it's just gonna be a matter of time until PoE2 will be flooded with bots again. This used to be a game where people would come together who love playing a hardcore game with good mechanics and it's own little quirks. Now I can literally faceroll to 95 with 5 chars within two weeks, it just became a big joke, but have fun with this disappointment go ahead.

Yeah PoE is the Warframe of dungeon crawlers. Developers who were passionate from the jump, had a clear vision, and didn't allow monetization to get in the way of the actual gameplay of the game. Amazing job by the devs. Hyped for PoE2. Will be waiting till 2021 though which sucks

PoE has absolutely fantastic music. It is one of the best aspects of the game imo. The Venarius soundtrack is so dope. Or the Uber elder fight. That voice acting with the music, to quote Salad Fingers; "it's almost orgasmic".

It's black magic, a hint of the league after Metamorphosis called Destiny League. It's basically Prophecy 2.0 but much cooler.
I recently realized I had two issues with the game. 1) spamming the same damn attack from level 30ish to end game got very irritating. 2) The atlas was frustrating - one character might easily push tier 10 without having to buy any maps and another character might stop seeing any maps drop around tier 4.
Consider both of my irritations fixed. Thank you GGG. You are so damn amazing and you have a fan for life.
What did they fix about the Atlas? I think my eyes glazed over when that was mentioned or something.

Conquerors of the Atlas was announced in a separate video, but for me has become one of the main improvements I’m looking forward to in 3.9.
Also, having up to 9(?) six links certainly removes the need to spam 1 attack all the time.

I think they talked about it before about the difficulties in converting the gem and links system but doubt they'll keep the old system for the old game, doesn't really makes sense especially when you get to the same end game atlas while one person has 1 or 2 six links skills vs 9, and playing with friends, just doesn't make sense.
"Path of Exile 2's characters are a new set of Exiles who fall into the same class archetypes", from their page, so yea new exiles.
What you mentioned was pretty much the opposite so made sense saying so, most of the info is easily found on the poe2 page.
2 Seperate campaigns, you can choose which one you'd like to play, not sure if you want the new archetypes you have to play the new campaign or what,
but all the new systems, gem changes and engine updates and whatnot are of course also applied to PoE 1.
It'll be the same game and the endgames from both campaigns will coexist in the same league.
Also to clarify, PoE 2 is set for 4.0 but that doesn't mean we have to reach 3.99 obviosuly, it'll come out when it does, the release date is (as of now) set probably in the next year, they have already announced up to 3.12 at least so far.

GGG actually care about players and their opinions and that's why they can deliver a top quality product. I've been playing PoE for couple of years now and it never gets boring. Every new league we were getting new content while D3 was just reseting ladders and changing stats a bit. Blizzard is a corporation and therefore has different approach to players.

I like it when large bosses have health bars that stay at the top of my screen. Not all bosses just the big ones. That way i can see how much dps my minion or whatever is doing with out standing still with my mouse over the enemy who can 1 hit me lol.

Wow well done guys! As someone who has played since there was only 3 acts I have always found it hard myself coming back to play it over and over each season when particularly the first 2 acts just looks so run down, and mates I have tried to get into the game over the years have always just found it to hard to stick it out through those initial acts.
This looks, sounds and feels amazing! And a subtle thing I want to mention is it's nice to see the gameplay slowed down a bit. Obviously early levels so i wont get my hopes to high but end game the whole blink around everywhere instantly kill stuff until you run into a mob that instantly kills you is kind of a turn off. Man it's nice to see it slowed down a bit to actually enjoy the look and feel, I really hope that's taken on board for the later aspects of the game.
Oh man but those 3 acts kept me coming back the 4th act was a bit lack luster but all but the act levels it was pretty good addition

There will be other statistics that define an item's worth. It's a good idea to move away from the very restrictive system currently in place. It's one of the biggest reasons that make PoE feel too much work to be fun for me in its current state.

It's a design philosophy thought I had hearing the voice-over comments as well: some of those early bosses may be showing their age, but don't forget not every level 11 in PoE 2 will have a million hours into PoE 😅

I'd like to think that considering the amount of time he spent taking about the new physics engine that ragdoll/weighted physics deaths will definitely be in there. That was honestly my only gripe with the first game. The death animations got on my nerves because they had no physics. I thought for such a pretty game that's crazy!

yeah diablo 3 is garbage and d4 looks like more of the same. More of a dynasty warriors clone where you run through hundreds of enemies like they are made from tissue paper than an actual diablo game. Always hated D3, never got why it is so acclaimed.

Take the gem skills out completely. Make something better. Your character barely matters.
You'll realize that when you play season after season and try new characters. They're all the same because the gems are all the same.

@@RiJMC17 I see you haven't discovered the skill tree. While ingame, press P to bring it up. You get a skill point for each level, and also sometimes from completing quests. Each class starts in a different area of the skill tree, so it matters a lot. For instance, it's difficult to get a lot of spell damage on a duelist. Different parts of the tree will also naturally give more of one specific stat like intelligence, so a duelist will rarely have enough intelligence to wield a good wand. It will absolutely blow your mind how much stronger your character will get when you actually use your skill tree.
From what I'm seeing here, this game looks incredible. I haven't enjoyed any top-down RPGs since Diablo 2, but this looks and sounds very appealing to me.
I like the control you have on your character and it does not feel "too" spammy with your keys. I have seen a lot of PoE footages of people litterally just running and spamming 1 key.
That is not an appealing gameplay to me, but I understand there is more to it.

People in those poe footages try to clear everything as fast as they can because its pretty much a money grinding game and you can't really do much without currency. A lot of people play it slowly but they usually struggle a lot in the endgame because they can't buy better gear for their build
Poe always gives options and variations that appeal to different playstyles, you dont need 1-key-spam builds to be efficient.

Hey bro i suggest you to try at least one time with proper build like Arc witch or necro , the footage you see is very fast builds or some top streamer content. For me i make my own builds and play solo self found, my characters are average speed but can clear all content eventually before the league ends.
The game itself is just amazing, you can't believe how much content the developer pumps out!

I've been one of path of exile's biggest critics and I am even happy to see these changes. Hopefully the lack of sockets allows them to make each item feel more significant. 90% of the items that drop in the current game aren't even work looking at, the game would be a lot better with a tenth of the drop rate but each item is worth picking up.

Yea there would be CWDT, CWC metagem jazz, but flexibility of system goes down overall. Instead of sandbox with limitless possibilities for knowledgeable player, you get another "gamy" system in place to fool proof mass market.
Yep it is so bad that loot filters are mandatory. Without one in Delve the items fill the entire screen
@@Yakez42 my opinion: most of the player base will be ok losing the ability to socket 2 gems into same links so that sockets/links are less of a headache and in the process making random gear drops more impactful and lowering the amount of useless drops compared to current were 90% of drops are not worth even picking up partly cuz of bad sockets/links.
I don't think there's ever going to be a situation where each item is worth picking up in any game like this.
Having said that, they could stand to drastically reduce the amount of useless shit that drops. There's no reason for 200 garbage items to drop at the end of a delve.

If you think Diablo 4 will be any good - you're delusional. Blizzard can't make good games anymore. They make "popular" lame games. Especially, when it comes to making a good ARPG - they can't compete with GGG. I watched the D4 demo and a couple of interviews with its devs, and I got to realise that D4 is stillborn for me. Dropped my jaw when I heard that they will gonna monetise the shit out of it: Base game, Expansions, MTX. Fuck that shit.

The other half it is because almost the whole Diablo dev team who made diablo 1 and 2 (the real diablo games) got fired or they got out of blizzard searching for better companies which can use their talent for do good games. Maybe I missed it but did they just skip over the fact that all the enemies look WAY better? Nothing looks derpy or low budget, the monsters are badass
Also the basic gear. It looks way better than current 3d looks of base armour

The atmosphere creates something I lost scince I was a lot younger and played diablo 2. D3 and as far as I seems like D4 are not able to recreate this weird feeling now as an adult. But however it seems that you can and I guess for a lot of reasons this is brilliant. Looking forward to play poe2. (Ah and I watched the guy on youtube who programmed the dynamic grass effects .... insane!)
I was thinking to myself "I'll get Diablo 4 for my Druid fix" and you guys just killed that with how well you did shapeshifting. Super excited.
I was a little disappointed with how Diablo 4's shapeshifting looked... this shapeshifting is what we need. Way more excited about PoE 2 than D4 at this point. PoE 2 gives me way more D2 vibes than D4 does and Blizzard is trying to actively make D4 feel more like D2...

@@f0x715 I agree. Despite some unfortunate corporate decisions that ultimately affected their IPs, I still think Blizzard makes decent games. Hey, no dev is perfect. At least with the Diablo franchise they finally listened to the fans and are working hard for the upcoming D4.
Still think D4 looks top notch and will feel smoother and more solid than PoE. PoE will have more in depth systems , so that’s where it will shine, but visually speaking , D4 is top from looking at both previews

Wow. It looks beautiful. Like another person said, it looks nice and matte, not so shiny. I love the dark mood to it.
It's great to see that the bosses take a little while to kill. I wish the minions were the same! I just abhor/HATE/detest how levels become a blast fest and screen vomit of effects.
I would much rather have tougher, smarter, more challenging minions than mass groupings that are just paper targets easily blasted through.
Basically, slower, more calculated battles. Quality over quantity of enemies, please.
You may like Pillars of Eternity then. Give it a look because it's something similar as you said, but is a really hardcore in depth experience.

Now please make stance-based skill trees so you don't have to juggle two builds' worth of skills in just 7 slots. (I know, it could be 7+8 with the alt set, but I don't want to hold shift the entire time I'm ...shifted. eheh).

always hated the attackspeed meta. I couldn't get over how absurdly ridiculous swinging a weapon 11+ times a second looked. This looks a lot better. Like your skill actually matters, not just your build and items.

Sadly, it's what made me uninstall the game despite actually liking many of its mechanics.

But that doesnt work because 1 its frustrating to find trades. 2 you can only get gear by trading or by gambling. 3.the community already has a trading platform its just annoying to use.
So yeah sometimes GGG behave like kids, in the context of the campaign or trading.
