I'ts not an episode I've re watched recently and come to think of it, not very much at all. I don't know why. Maurine Lipman as the wire is fantastic! Brilliant casting. I need to watch this again!
The Doctor said he would erase her by recording over her on the tape. Although who knows, there's a chance that he forgot and she's still lurking on that tape buried in the TARDIS's vault-attic, waiting.
The green screen error is at 1:47 slow Mo and pause it the white sneaker and part of his trouser does get cut out in a small triangle shape (corner of green screen). It was proven on a BBC 3 TV show with Robert Webb presenting.
Hi! Could you please upload the part in Night Terrors where the doctor finds out that George is a Tenser or when he stands up to Georges dad (Alex) in the kitchen when he tells him to leave? Thank You.
It's funny how the Doctor Who Encyclopedia revealed The Wire's planet of origin to be Hermethica, and she was the leader of a criminal gang of Hermethicans who could convert themselves into beings of plasmic energy, also mentioned in the Doctor Who Time Traveller's Almanac.....
I wonder, if because she's on a VHS, she'll just say things she said before without context. So at random points while watching, she'll just started screaming, "FEEEEED MEEEEE" or something like that?
I love how The Wire's final scream turns into white noise. Nice touch.
I love that too
Yeah, this is nice ❤
I love the doctor's triumphant "It's closed down I'm Afraid, and no epilogue!"
It just really makes you believe The Wire was an electronic life form.
@@christophersudbrink4946
What does that even mean in tv sense
The actress there did an excellent job portraying the wire
PikaDean
Maureen Lipman.
PikaDean - Maureen Lipman. Brilliant actress! Concidentally, she currently plays Tyrone's gran in Coronation Street.
She's a very famous English actress

@@kwesiidun8512 She's also best known for those famous BT ads from the late Eighties.
"Rubber soles. Swear by 'em!" great words of the greatest doctor
If he had a long scarf and a lose grip, he would've probably fallen and regenerated with help of the watcher...
Newton Artemis Fido Scamander But this is not the moment he had been prepaired for...

?
Somehow that actress created a super creepy villain from the neck up. Major props.
It took me years to finally get those famous last words.
“It’s (signoff), I’m afraid. And no epilogue!”
This episode was great. The faceless people still give me the creeps
Seem to remind me of The Veiwers
Still does sometimes
If you look very closely at 1:45 - 1:49 you can see that the doctor's foot gets cropped out due to an error with the greenscreening.
speebyda What are you chatting about?
I can't see it at all >_
鏡音レン At about 1:46, look at the Doctor's right foot.
Nope. Left foot is stepping on a piece of scaffolding at an angle from the pant leg and the right is up because the knee is bent.
TheMamsies
Ooh now I see. Wow. How does anyone notice this?!
Watch out doctor you died falling from a tower once!
Was that reference really necessary?
Luke Skypestalker Ah yes. But the moment was prepared for
Luke Skypestalker really... I didn't know that... sarcasm
Logopolis?
RUBBER SOLES! SWEAR BY 'EM!
That part gets me every time!
The Wire sure has a very limited vocabulary.
Cynicalguy89 FEEED MEEE

Joris Heit HAHHAHA
I guess that you could say the wire...
...was cut.

This episode was really, down to the wire.
Hahaha... comedy.
Conor Osborne God that’s cringey as hell! XD
(Starts playing “Won’t Get Fooled Again”)

Y'know, the first try was successful
Sam Kirby Heh, repeated shot. Bit silly, but w/e.
Satellite Moon in
The Sad Thing being that Magpie could've just thrown the wire off from that height and broken the device.
All he wanted was peace
He was trying to trap it not kill it
Howyaduing he was saying Magpie could throw it off, not the doctor
He was broken by it. Poor guy was tortured into servitude.
Not my name literally what i was thinking while watching this
All too reminiscent of the 4th Doctor's final episode.
Logopolis
It was to be originally said by the Doctor in the script to this episode as he climbed up the transmitter thingy.
7pitpat7 --remember the Watcher in that Logopolis episode ?
***** yes, Tom bakers last episode
I think 10 was initially supposed to reference something about falling off a Radio tower which referenced the Pharos Project from Logopolis
I would've loved to see Tommy as a companion.
And that's more or less how Futurama was cancelled
why do I see you everywhere
SimpleWolf because youtube
I dont understand why this episode is underrated. I love it so much.
I only watch these clips to read the comments.
ok
But then you BECOME the comment that everyone reads
Same
One of my favorite episodes 💕 in this episode you can see how much the doctor loves Rose and it makes my heart melt
This was such an underrated episode. It's so good.
This episode is probably one of the weirdest Doctor Who episodes ever. Or am I missing like 20 classic ones I've never seen?
It was a strange one, yeah.
+James Dillenbeck that wasn't weird, it was brilliant
I remember this episode, struggling to remember the actual plot! *****
love and monsters I think the name was
Castle. WE DO NOT MENTION THE NAME OF THAT EPISODE
It's sad that Doctor Who will never be this creepy and weird ever again
Your dreams are about to come true next year my friend :) Doctor Who is coming back cus the guy who brought you Chris and David etc is coming back as showrunner, and his plans are big and actually exciting! Looking forward to next years special!
Looks like they had theirs eyes glued to the screen, YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! (guitar solo)

The best part of this episode was the boy standing up to his Fascist father.
It's just an awful pity that

The Great Phil Swift, Our Prometheus why is that relevant? Lol
@@thejfoshow1320 Because the man I'm referring to is the man who played Tommy.
The Great Phil Swift, Our Prometheus Oh yeah, sorry, I completely forgot about that. Quick reply btw

I love the little continuity of "your majesty" from earlier. It was just the little thing.
Such an underrated episode.
Gatiss is brilliant!
Not sure it took Maureen Lipman to learn her lines. If in doubt, scream Hungry/Feed Me. "Characterisation!" ;)
Here after HM the Queen passed away yesterday. RIP
Logopolis anyone? This time, the Doctor managed to climb a tower without dying :)
I love how there was an electrical socket at the top of the radio tower lolz
I find this episode enjoyable, the father sub-plot and the cast are good. I like the music in this part too.
one of the weirder episodes of Doctor who but that's what is great about this show you never know what you will end up with
eccentric storylines have always been a hallmark of this series which is what endears it to so many people! and having done some electrical work myself rubber soles swear by them!!
I love that the doctor had his hair slicked back I love his hair it looked funny slicked back but his hair looks awesome none the less ^_^
It's probably just nostalgia but I'll always prefer a bad RTD episode to an okay Moffat episode.
Same.
RTD treated this show like it was a gritty adult sci-fi/supernatural drama that just happened to appeal to kids. Moffat did the opposite, treating it like it was a whimsical sci-fi/comedy kid's show that just happened to appeal to adults. I know which style worked better for me on this show.

no! not the dog! take the humans but not the dog!
Ok, Doctor Who. To further my point, this is OLDER than the post you used for throwback Thursday!
Please do more classics for Thursdays :D
her face was about to get taken away and she's still thinking about the cupper😂😂😂
Scariest tv episode of my childhood.
Rubber soles, swear by them!
That'll stop kids watching TV. Lol. I have only seen this episode three or four times. Its really good. Good old Tennant.
Gotta love these Doctor Who fixes.
Much better story than Bells of St. John in my opinion. The Doctor literally invents a Betamax to defeat his enemy.
"Rubber soles, swear by em" oh, so that's why he wore those shoes
0:33 My cat at 4am

Wire: NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
Me: YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve always adored the “I shall consume you, DOCTOR “
There should be another episode of this.I mean she is stuck in magnetic tape and so technically she is still alive waiting to be discovered again.
The Doctor said he would erase her by recording over her on the tape. Although who knows, there's a chance that he forgot and she's still lurking on that tape buried in the TARDIS's vault-attic, waiting.
I love this episode. It was good. Underrated.
Scariest newho episode in my opinion with Rose. I didn't watch tv until the next episode aired.
FFFEEEEDDDD MMMMEEEEEEEE
this sounds like the time I was in Burger King and this one guy was like FEED ME
The last noise being white noise...beautiful touch. X3
I'm actually surprised we haven't seen the wire again.
3:15
You wanted all the power, Wire? Well now you've literally got it!
1:11
It even wants the dogs!
reminds me of the time when matt smith went climbing a tower in 'vampires of venice'
The green screen error is at 1:47 slow Mo and pause it the white sneaker and part of his trouser does get cut out in a small triangle shape (corner of green screen). It was proven on a BBC 3 TV show with Robert Webb presenting.
And that is the story of why parents say don't get to close to the tele or you'll be blind.Or faceless while an evil alien rules all.
The Doctor sure enjoys climbing tall things. This could have been Tom Baker all over again! Know what I’m sayin’?
yeah, he might've turned into Matt Smith early
Every series has that one episode we never speak of.....
The Idiot’s Lantern was first episode Doctor Who I ever saw bring back so many me memories hard to believe this was aired in 2006 😳😂
lol I love how she was feasting on the dog too
That trench coat do be pretty majestic flapping in the wind
No ones gonna talk about the wire stealing the poor doggo face.
Don't watch TV anymore.
wE FIXED IT
Quite an underrated episode, not a popular choice but I quite like it.
Same here. I enjoy watching this episode, it's a guilty pleasure of mine along with The Lazarus Experiment and 42.
0:53 LOL! its even taking the dog's face.
It should probably be creepy when she says "The wire is feasting", however the delivery of the line kind of grosses me out instead.
Guard: you're going to get yourself killed up there! Your majesty!
😂😂
Amazing show
ahh yes Lain, she's grown now and become a monster in doctor who, im so proud of her
(keyword: serial experiment lain)
Lain wasn't a villain though
That's a good kink...
2:54 YES!!!
How very fitting that this is recommended after Season 12's disaster of a Finale.
0:33 is literally my cat
The wire: you will never defeat me
Me: *unplugs the cord*
* the wire dies*
At 1:47 The Doctor's foot disappears and reappears for a second (Due to David Tennant's foot going in and out of the green screen area)
Hi! Could you please upload the part in Night Terrors where the doctor finds out that George is a Tenser or when he stands up to Georges dad (Alex) in the kitchen when he tells him to leave? Thank You.
"you cannot stop the wire"
Now where have I heard that before?
The wire is pulling people's faces in is the noise I reckon.
Didn't think he'd be climbing up towers after Logopolis
I CRIED WHEN I SAW THE DOG'S FACE BEING TAKEN INTO THE TV :( I only cared for the dog lol
episodes ups: tenants hair
episode down:everything else
It's funny how the Doctor Who Encyclopedia revealed The Wire's planet of origin to be Hermethica, and she was the leader of a criminal gang of Hermethicans who could convert themselves into beings of plasmic energy, also mentioned in the Doctor Who Time Traveller's Almanac.....
Feed meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
3:00 part of me is disappointed that the Doctor’s hair doesn’t always look like this
1:46 tennant losses a foot XD
I just realised this is the same monster as in the bells of saint john.
The bells of Saint John's villain Was The great intelligence
Falls of and regenerates into Peter Davison
I like to think that this alien gave the doctor the idea for how to defeat the silence
I actually quite like this episode.
now i know that they say some times tv is bad
"Your majesty!" Was this a subtle reference of what was to come?
No
I wonder, if because she's on a VHS, she'll just say things she said before without context. So at random points while watching, she'll just started screaming, "FEEEEED MEEEEE" or something like that?
At LAST the BBC shows the effect it's programming has on the public !
Suddenly when she went hahahaha! And about 7 seconds later nooooooooo!
