There's a short story that gives an alternative explanation for this TARDIS design. The Doctor and The Master once swapped bodies in an attempt for The Master to escape prison. When it didn't work out The Master decided to mess with The Doctor by changing the TARDIS interior knowing it would take The Doctor months to figure out how to change it, which I think is just hilarious!
The best Doctor/Companion pairing by far. Jo gets a bad rap for being "dumb," but she's little, cute, and dressed fashionably -- and somehow that means "dumb" to people. She was naive and clumsy when she showed up, but by the second story, she was holding her own in prison riots, repeatedly rescuing the Doctor when he'd been taken prisoner, picking locks, impersonating royalty, and standing up to the Master. How people get this impression that she was "dumb" I cannot fathom. And best of all, the Doctor always, always, always trusted and believed her. The best buddy vibe ever in the TARDIS.
Man I adore Jo so much!!!!! She ain't no "special snowflake" like Rose or Clara 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 She is simply a sweet person and of CLEAR importance in the Doctor's life.
I can imagine the production crew Director: Oh damn...we forgot about the TARDIS interior. Well we have the console...any suggests? Set Designer: Our budget is depleted...so dont know. Director: What about those bowls on the table over there? Glue them to the wall surrounding the console. That'll do the trick.
Lol! Yes, that is, probably, what happened! I can't wait to get reviewing this story! I never quite gone when the 2: 'TARDISES,' materialized inside each other. Right after it happens, we all of a sudden see: 'The Doctor's,' 'TARDIS,' in: 'The Master's,' 'TARDIS,' and: 'The Master's,' 'TARDIS,' is not in: 'The Doctor's,' 'TARDIS,' and I don't know, it's so confusing! :)
There's an episode of Blakes 7, "Shadow", where the villain's personal suite had walls of plastic moulds that appeared to be either of either breasts or butts. All I know is that they're very curvaceous, and somehow I didn't notice in fifteen years of viewing the episode until the most recent one. Big salad bowl walls seems tame by comparison.
Mock ye not! If you want to mock, then mock the absolute shite they're making now! You know, the one with that stupid woman pretending to be the Doctor! 👎
This was probably the most innuendo-laden Dr Who story ever. The scriptwriters and prop makers probably had a hoot seeing how many people would spot them.
One of the top Pertwee episodes! I do wish Liz had another season but Jo was great as well along with Sarah. The third Doctor is my favorite though. I think he gets overlooked sometimes because of the Tom Baker craze after. He will always be my Doctor. Jo was with the Doctor a long time too. It's sad they didn't bring her back like Sarah as much. I guess they still haven't. Anyone know why?
Love this story. So underrated. Cool TARDIS set, the UNIT family at their best and some cool concepts about time and space, like the TARDIS inside TARDIS and Time-Ram stuff.
This should have been the TARDIS interior look for most of the Pertwee era. Although, I wish they'd put an actual scanner screen on the wall or suspend it from the ceiling like they did with other sets instead of having one of the round things as the scanner.
Andrew Chapman problem was there was an accident after filming on the serial wrapped and the set was badly damaged. The producer didn’t like how it looked, so he just told them to get rid of what was left rather than rebuild it.
