I've never been able to get a good finish with those pads. Maybe I ain't using them right? Either way, I'm sticking with the Acks Wood Paste. Hasn't failed me yet.
@@MoonpieCreations THank you Ken, I dont believe in water and pads, never did, even before our paste.When I finsih with lauquer of Ca glue I still use the abrasive on that to buff it and get marks out.
I've never been a fan of them. Tried them many times with no luck.
And some of us just refuse to grow up...I love it! I vote orange and black skulls in clear resin. Be safe and stay young!
I actually have done some orange and black skulls and cross bones. But haven't done a bowl with them yet.

I can say it was a fun turn, but I really didn't like the bowl after it was done.

I had planned on filling the whole thing with resin, but I'm glad I didn't go through as it's harder to fill at that point.
Nice save on the bottom of the bowl! Still came out looking great!

I made a UV resin cast of a small dog bone and put some of my dog's baby teeth in it. He died a month after my husband died. Casting became my outlet. I made 17 resin pyramids with crystals and a few with glow in the dark sand in one day.

That turned out great, Ken. When you first went from a tenon to a recess, I was wondering about the funnel club again. Also, if you use enough of that alcohol that's NOT denatured, you won't care about the scratches! Stay well and cool.

You need some negative rake carbide tips. You wouldn't get the chip out.
I have some, but a carbide at an angle works just as well and cost less.
Love your videos my son (10 yrs old) and I are big fans of them and your work. He’s been inspired to start turning with me. We r having trouble getting the fine scratches out of r resin and wood bowls. what is the sanding progression u use from 60-800?
Hey Andrea. Yes I use 60-800 then I coat with cellulous sanding sealer, then acks paste. Finishing off with ob shine juice. The sanding sealer helps fill in fine scratches before the acks paste. Then the OB Shine Juice makes them almost invisible. I have a video about it here. ua-cam.com/video/op2geELLW1s/v-deo.html it works well on both resin and wood. Nice! I LOVE glow in the dark stuff. Looking to start slowly working on my Halloween stuff soon. I say this because when Halloween gets here I am always like oh man I wish I had started these sooner lol. This looks cool though. Also I have found that for me, when using micromesh I have to follow it up with Zona paper or I don't get the nice finish. I've gotten away from it so much depending on what I am doing. I like my sanding paste more.
I am always late on making things for certain times of year. lol

UA-cam's algorithum is crap. When I find stuff I like I subscribe so I don't miss out on cool videos like this. What happened with the Flag bowl video?
So UA-cam originally flagged my flag video and demonetized it.
I argued the point and asked for a review and one. But two days after posting I stopped getting any views on it. Then I noticed the rest of my videos got no views. UA-cam has stopped pushing my videos out to recommended and being searchable.
My views and revenue were down by 71% since that video.
It was fixable but I had to do a lot of promoting of my channel and get people to share the videos to try to get my views back up and them to share it on recommended and search.
They’re killing me. I can’t say for sure it’s the flag but it happened right after I released it.
I'm only down 10% now. SO I think it is leveling back off.
Fun little project, but wish you’d put some spiders by your logo!
