Bridger #5 Long Spring Trap

This video will demonstrate how to properly set our Bridger #5 Leghold Trap. Also known as a Long Spring Trap, this "grabbing" type trap is effective on animals which have big thick legs like Beaver.

It isnt common but Beaver can reach close to eighty pounds. I prefer a #4 when I use a foothold for beaver. I think #5s are better suited for wolf. You usually use a slightly larger trap for water animals because they are a little harder to hold and most footholds are set on a drowning rig. Which needs enough weight to work. I prefer to use a 330 Connibear though.

i hate to sound like a numbnut but what do you use #5's for? becaues i use a #2 coil spring for fox and a number #3for coyotoes

why though? a beaver i thought was never that big, i use a #3 coil spring for my woodchucks, and the jaws arnt nearly as big as those
