inFAMOUS Second Son was a well-received game and I did a critique on Infamous Second Son a few weeks ago so feel free to check out my analysis on Infamous Second Son here: • A Critique of inFAMOUS...
In my inFAMOUS Second Son Review, I went over the ups and downs with the game and I can say that Infamous First Light has improved the experience so much. In this Analysis of Infamous First Light, I will explain all the ways it has improved on the original experience of Infamous Second Son.
If you are not familiar with Infamous First Light here's a description.
Infamous First Light is set in 2015, four years after Infamous 2, and three years before Infamous: Second Son. Abigail Walker, a young Conduit in the D.U.P.'s custody in their prison Curdun Cay, is ordered to give a demonstration of her powers to one Brooke Augustine who using the powers of another Conduit "generously" supplies holographic foes for Abigail to kill.
Once that is done Abigail is told to tell the events that led up to her arrest. Seven years earlier, Abigail was one of the first of the new Conduits who emerge following The Beast's rampage across the countryside.
Although her parents tried to cope at first they were left with few options after Abigail injured one of her classmates by mistake. Abigail's older brother Brent Walker immediately grabbed Abigail and ran away with her, the pair turned to drug use to cope but Brent eventually got clean, even going as far as to hide Abigail's stash to help her get clean as well. Brent also made Abigail keep the use of her powers to a minimum to avoid suspicion.
For years Brent worked for gangs to acquire enough funds to buy a boat and sneak across the border from Seattle to Canada where the D.U.P.'s authority does not extend to. However, two years ago, at the location where the plot was supposed to be completed, the gang of Russian mobsters known as the Akurans destroyed the boat, took Brent hostage, and almost killed Abigail with a bomb.
Using her powers, Abigail survives and begins looking for Brent. Abigail soon meets Shane, one of Brent's old contacts and a small-time drug lord also looking for Brent. Shane takes advantage of Abigail's naivete to use her to win a gang war with the Akurans almost single handily. When they do finally find Brent, Shane takes him hostage and forces Abigail to help him cement his hold on Seattle's drug trade.
Back in the present Augustine theorizes that the new powers Abigail develops may be a reaction to extreme trauma to help her cope. On the condition that she show her all of her powers, Augustine allows Abigail to fight holograms of her "D.U.P. Troops." Once the latest challenges are completed, Abigail continues her story. Another employee of Shane's working for the city's tech support department named Jenny offers to help look for Brent.
Jenny has narrowed down where Shane is keeping Brent to three shipping crates dotted around the city. Finding the crates not only does Abigail discover that Brent isn't in any of them but Shane, already on to them, hunts down and kills Jennifer. Shane has Abigail help him force the police's favour by having Abigail slaughter the police force while he has a sit-down with the chief.
The chief agrees to Shane's terms, on the condition that Abigail leaves Seattle and doesn't come back. With this Shane sends Abigail to pick up her brother. Unfortunately, it turns out to be a trap where Shane attempts to kill Abigail with a homemade gas chamber, Abigail however is able to pull through and escape. Back in the present, realizing that Abigail is still holding out on her, decides to send her to yet another new arena.
Gladly accepting Augustine's offer Abigail's "enthusiasm" leads her to blow a hole in the wall of the prison into the outside world. Though Shane miraculously survives, battered and bruised, he escapes by hijacking an APC with the D.U.P. and the now freed Abigail in hot pursuit. With the D.U.P's unwilling assistance, Abigail catches up to Shane and violently kills him, avenging her brother. Augustine, after she hears that Shane had been executed, she states that Abigail is 'ready'.
Alongside Eugene and another Conduit named Hank Daughtry, Abigail is released into the Military's custody. During the drive, Hank reveals he's smuggled in a bent paper clip to pick their restraints, allowing him to hijack the truck and crash it at Salmon Bay, leading to the events of Second Son. - Ігри

Animal Crossing has always had multiple save files, including Horizons, you just have to make a new profile to get another.
*Finally, the DLC gets the recognition it deserves damn it.*
*standalone
if not free.... i not paid for the same shit as on main game...
It's not DLC it's a standalone game good game tho even if it is much shorter than the main game. lol
Dude I love the infamous franchise that series is awesome every game and every dlc
@@spewks8569 yea rip to that franchise
It's worth mentioning, Fetch's powers being more fleshed out is partially due to Delsin copying derivatives of other conduits' powers. He never gets the original's full loadout, only a piece of their abilities. Which is why Delsin is the most powerful conduit though he never had something as insane as a singularity. The games aren't perfect, but I think they are fine.
By the way, does Fetch have the big sniper lazer she used in the main game? I wasn't paying attention and was pretty sure that's what her ultimate ability is until this video.
Fetch has better mastery with the power like, Eugene, Augustin, and hank
Delsin had the power for like a week in game. She had that shit for years. I think delsin would have been just as strong with neon with training. Which is why I hope they flesh out the powers in the next game.
james mcdude nah, delsin has a lot in his arsenal, so I don’t think he should be able to get full power neon
I know this isn't exactly related, but I wish Delsin was more powerful with smoke traversal wise. Like with video and neon you can literally fly across buildings and concrete turns you into Usain Bolt. Smoke let's you do little dashes only twice and the rest of the time you're just running your ass off.
Once you see that belt you cannot unsee it 😭
the fact that thw powers in second son seem "unfinished" is by design tho isnt it?
delsin vs fetch is like general knowledge vs highly specialised. They are also weaker which can be easily explained by the fact that delsin had maybe 2 weeks of canon time max to learn his power while fetch had much longer.
oh that's hilarious after realizing that now. you master your powers for pretty almost your life then lose to some guy who got his powers for only a week
@@atomic747 He has the ultimate fifth element: the power of the protagonist.
I'm also pretty sure his powers are weaker because his main power is to copycat powers. His ability to switch between them is what's supposed to give him the edge.
@@atomic747 Besides being a clear game convention, story-vise he could win against her purely because of his general knowledge on powers, while she was only mastering her specific one without thinking how it works in general. Remember how he absorbed all the neon first? Though I'd prefer to fight each new boss with the powers I've used before, not the ones I just got and against it's original owner, that's just plain stupid.
It's funny cause Cole had like 2-3 months to control and harness his powers (much less than Fetch) across both games yet by the end of inFAMOUS 2 no matter the karma path he was basically a god.
i'm not sure if you knew this or not but at the part where Fetch blows through the wall of Curden Cay Laura Bailey who plays her actually did the scene in one take and blew the ears off the audio producer.

They have the budget after tsushima's success
I loved how this game never used the word "panic attack" or "anxiety" too
Like it kinda fits the character, most people that suffer from some mental health issues don't even know these terms, i relate to that in the sense that when i was younger i had problems with panic attacks but just assumed like "Well apparently i'm just a little bit crazy" and i suppose that most people that have to live on the streets and really struggle financially wouldn't know that there is a name for those problems
we need a DLC for Eugene next
ever since first light came out, i have been thinking what could be the name with the thing of the third
Natey Boi
The thing is though...that game would probably be even shorter. Nothing really happens to Eugene worth mentioning except for him saving suspected conduits in Second Son
@@gatoxgalacticos2165 Surely "Third Person." Tying in with the "First" Light, "Second" Son thing, but tying into Eugene being a cool gamer boy lmao
@@shannizlmcsnizzl579 I actually really like that idea, plus he would literally be the third person to get a game out of the three
I think that would be awesome. We could see his battles against the DUP and the Akurans while also playing some missions in Second Son from his perspective. A DLC based on hank with more smoke powers could be cool too!
Damn, when's the last time someone made a "video essay" about First Light, let alone an InFAMOUS DLC?
That scream Fetch did when attacking that dude near the ending was one of the best in voices or voice acting I've heard in games so far. I wonder if Shane was a conduit? Nah probably won't make sense.
It took me YEARS to realize that the voice actor of Delsin is "Male Voice 1" in Saints Row 3-4
(Though we all know Nolan/Zombie is best)
Yeah that’s Troy Baker the voice of a lot of characters
You just realized that the most popular voice actor in gaming is in more than one game?
Do y'all think we will ever get another infamous title? I love these style of games but I feel like they are less common recently
I don't think we will but I'm always hopeful

Honestly cannot wait for your next video. You put lots of work into it and definitely apprecaite videos on infamous as well
These videos are great. I found you because of Second Son and I'm staying for the quality content. Keep it up
Hi!
I want to add some clarity here as i noticed this issue and also believe i know the main cause of it.
When starting the neon dash in a dark place (e.g in a tunnel, dimly lit alleys, under an alcove etc) the lighting saturation remains fixed from that point until you stop dashing.
So once you start dashing in a dark place and dashing into a more warmly lit area, the saturation remains the same and causes this bright washed out effect.
Of course, this is easily mitigated by stopping your dash momentarily before continuing.
Great video thanks!
I know how to fix the belt issue!
Stop staring at her butt you filthy animal you xD
i remember playing this dlc and getting my mind blown. it was sooooooo good
6:55 ooooooh booooy, rigging is a tricky thing, i feel developers so much
I havent played the game. But i think the main problem is that the fact that its a texture and not its own object. Or i could be wrong and it IS its own object and yeah rigging is wayy to hard
my problem with second son is that delsin wasn’t really an interesting character to me when all of the characters in infamous 2 were so interesting, cole and all the side characters. I loved infamous first light because fetch was such an interesting character she had flaws and hopes and delsin was every black and white to me. idk plus i loved neon the most in second son so having full blown neon powers made me so happy in first light. i loved the DLC and i play it once a year because it really stuck with me. thank you so much for giving it the love it deserves
I loved delsin
Well, try to make a new main character for a franchise to get younger audience, where some people not yell "Cole was better !".
Compared with the Angry guy in Prototype 2. Is delsin way more interesting. Atleast, His and Reggie´s parents weren´t killed by Kessler/Cole. So that he would go on a useless Vendetta, just to claim the new main hero chair.
@@MarinetteDupainCheng564 Cole is definitely better than Delsin, but not by much in my opinion, when i first played Second Son i though he was vastly inferior, but with time i realized i loved him almost as much and he only got better in subsequent playthroughs.

Aqua:inFAMOUS First Light DLC Done Right
Me:Cries in Tiny TInas Assault on Dragon Keep
I honestly prefer first light over second son, its just a lot more fun, it feels like a proper sequel to infamous 1 and 2, if theres ever anymore games made for this series I think it would be better to go with a singular power, not only does it get more fleshed out, but as seen with first light, the developers can make some really cool and fun challenges.
I also think it's worth considering ditching the karma system
@@ThatBoyAqua mmm depends. Second sons was kinda trash but if they incorporated the system from the OG infamous , then I think it would be cool🤷🏽♂️especially if you’re a trophy hunter like myself and will probably play the story mode twice. Imagine having a 100% different storyline just off making bad karma decisions.
Here is what’s great about this dlc: you can play it with the hud off and know by the sounds what you have or haven’t got.
My only problem is that this game was too short. I love the story and Fetch is such a great character. I just wish this was longer than 4 hours
I couldn't agree more, this video felt like it was 5 minutes, especially compared to your longer videos, but i still enjoyed it as much
These kinds of reviews are the best you've earned my subscription my guy
Future inFamous games should employ a pseudo-karma system similar to the model in Witcher 3, where your choices don't effect your own powers or fate, but rather the lives and relationships of the people you're working with or against.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has a decent take on a multiple options system where depending on your choices characters can be allies or enemies, side quests can be blocked off and the ending the the Family story thread very much depends on various dialogue choices made throughout the game.
@@jbcatz5 Odyssey is my favorite AC game so far. Dropped hundreds and hundreds of hours into that game.
DiZ Another game that the karma system could take cues from is Detroit Become Human. Little choices that can change the flow of the narrative to have great impact short term and long term and aren’t signposted as to how they’re aligned in terms of morality. More choices where you have to lose something and it matters to the story as a whole rather than specific cutscenes.
Can we get a new infamous like come on 😭😭
please!
inFamous : Second Son....inFamous : First Light ......inFamous :Third Kind? :D maybe? :D Please SuckerPunch, after Ghost of Tsushima please continue :)

@@OfficialPaulBlake infamous:system break? For Eugine?
Game still looks amazing years later. Always loved the infamous games
I hope that they make dlc for Eugene(Video), Whatever the ex convicts name was I forget(smoke), and big boss Augustine (Concrete). I would love seeing the view of the other characters before the events of the main game. Eugene being the same time zone as fetch. Showing how his power was being abused by Aguestine then where he goes after leaving. Then giving the player the view of him learning how to use his powers, going in hiding, and saving other conduetes.(A possible mini game being him going on quest or something in the world he makes.) Then ending on him finding out about Delson or the moment where he sends a angel to save him. The Convict guy being a tiny bit before being taken by D.U.P. in order to see what he is losing when he gets captures by the D.U.P then showing a little of D.U.P. emprisonment. Then showing how he gets his "Golden Opportunity" and ending there. Then finally showing Aguestine and how she made the D.U.P. by betraying the paper girl. Then showing how she captures conduetes and builds the D.U.P. (the main ones being Eugene, Fetch, and the other one.) And ending when she sends the truck full of the main three. I know this would be a LOT of work for them and take too much time and money but I know I and many other people would pay every cent to play it. This is my own thoughts and would love to hear others opinions.
Just played First Light and Second Son for the first time, in chronological order. Honestly loved both. Still prefer the first two games, but I like these stories too.
This is my favorite channel for games
Thank you!
I really like that at the ending Hank is there, winks at her and reveals his tool to break out of cuffs and APC, tbh that was one of my fave parts
The golden opportunity
The "neon lighting issue" in Second Son is only present in the "Hero" time of day from my experience.
For me it happened all the time, I think it might be the fact that neon generates its own light, so if you use the dash in a dark area it naturally lights it up, but when moving into a better lit place, the game doesn't register that change until you stop using the dash
Love the channel. Finally someone I can relate to and playing on PS4 😭😭😭
I love having one power in first light. It really reminded me of the originals (arguably inF2 and inF festival of blood have other powers)
I know what you mean, it was nice to have one power fully fleshed out!
Can we take a second to appreciate the fact that the parts in the video is right next to the length of the video?
Love this dlc. Kinda wish Fetch was the main protagonist over Delsin
honestly same but as mentioned in the video, the karma system definitely held delsin back in terms of characterisation.
inFamous is one of my favorite game series (yes, even if some the mechanics are not the most refined). So, seeing a compelling DLC, well worth the price, being added to series was both a stunning and welcoming. I seriously wish Sucker Punch took the opportunity to explore some darker themes in the games, like maybe even playing as a character who abuses their power for their own personal gain (without the hamfisted karma system). There was far too much potential for the series overall, and although I'm grateful for what we got, I still can't help but wish for more, even if it is DLC.
Love your channel!
Just so much positivity towards games!
Keep up the good work
Glad you like them! I'll try to keep up the positivity!
the neon clouds and chasing that neon orb kind of remind me of saints row IV's second or third mission where you had to run around collecting orbs to upgrade your powers and the races which had you go through circles like these that boost. it's probably taken from First light
I already loved neon(favorite power), this was amazing!
Thanks! Really happy you made this
Glad you liked it!
Sometimes the lightning is so Bright IT looks like a Ubisoft load screen had me cracking up Xd
The lighting issue that you mentioned for Second Son also happens for me dude
God we need another Infamous game. Wouldn't mind something continuing the adventures of the cast from Second Son; the powers just seem to offer so much potential! I might be alone here but it seems like it would've been cool for another DLC playing as the Smoke guy or Augustine before she goes the "paramilitary director" route!
Love the Infamous games and happy we had them to enjoy at launch for the PS4, the DLC however was to us here..... even better then the game that we really liked. The DLC was just better on every level. Was fun to see your take on it @Aqua in your usual in depth and intelligent way. Thank you..... As I know these longer videos take so long to capture, script, edit and upload.
Thank you, I appreciate it!

That said, I hope it's not too presumptions to judge at least the story of the games, specifically there is only a small thing about the story of First Light I didn't like. In Second Son I got the idea that Fetch killed her brother while in a paranoia driven by the absence of the drugs, but in First Light it was during one of the drug-ridden episodes that she killed him. Although I think it still impactful scene, I feel like the former would be a bit more impactful and heavier than the latter.

I like the fact that they had Travis Willingham voice Shane (and even inform the character design) because it gives more reason for Fetch to distrust Reggie Rowe, the character Travis voice-acts in inFAMOUS: Second Son.
Ay another one by Aqua, day made. Keep up the good work, man.

If there is one thing I really want in this game is motion aiming as an option with sensetivity sliders. I have a hard time aiming with the right stick. Having motion aiming like breath of the wild, splatoon and the modern port of doom 64 on the switch and ps4. Though I highly doubt they would patch it in. Even though it would heavily improve the game for me
the lighting problem you have in second son isn't just you. for some reason the lighting problem only happens: when the time is day,you use neon, and when using the dash you decide to look up in the dash. the camera adjust to how bright the dash is and just stays like that until you let go.
Just gotta say, the lighting not being able to catch up when using neon happens to me too. So, it exists
Great video, but now i cant unsee the belt

This video was awesome, I loved this add-on. Can't wait for the Arkham Knight video!
Brilliant video. Pretty much spot on, on all accounts.
Also I agree with the melee in SS being a bit rubbish. Why were normal people (eg. Drug dealers) able to take 3 smacks to the face with a freaking chain??
Shane is actually played by the same voice actor as reggie, Travis Willingham, who is actually married to the voice actor of fetch, Laura Bailey
Love your content man, I'm a huge fan of the Infamous games. Especially 2, but I still love Second Son and First Light regardless of their flaws.
I'm especially interested in what you're gonna say about Arkham Knight because despite it's glaring issues, it's actually my favourite of all the Arkham games.
Also I hope to hear you talk about Ghost of Tsushima after it comes out, hoping that Sucker Punch are gonna knock it out of the park with that one.
Once you said that Shane looks like a young regi, I can't unsee that
The lighting glitch in second son just happens to me like an hour ago so its not only you
The light issue also happens to me when i play second son. Idk why it happens either but i think its when an area is adjusting its light and you use neon at the same time
