When you hear something sung by Hope for the first time,.... do you not just fall in love with her all over again.?
Yep, then you see what she looks like and your heart just breaks wishing that she could be yours.
@@Gunners_Mate_Guns Felt by millions that idea.
anytime. This is a Doors song.
I never stopped loving her, but I still see your point
Aye 😊
She is enchanting! Nobody was, is or will ever be like her!
Sounds like flaming leaves blowing from a cinnamon tree on an island in a blue winter sea. All raw psychedelia sung by an angel.
I absolutely love hope Sandoval
Any music involving Hope is all I need to hear. I am genuinely happy to drop every other artist I enjoy just for her.
Absolutely.
This is just raw gold.
still get the chills listening in 2022.
Her voice is electric, it's energy, there's a swelling throughout and a nice glide down over views of mountains and pines and empty highways there's a montage of the sun peeking through the tops of trees...
One of the times when a woman is as beautiful as her voice.
The impact from The Doors on Opal and Mazzy Star is pretty evident. First time I heard an actual Doors cover by Hope Sandoval. And one of my favorites. Couldn't be more awesome to hear her sing it!
100% truth! Black sessions 1992 in Paris Mary of Silence and So tonight I might see omfg they channeled Ray Manzarek and jim ha
32 years ago. I had no idea at the time...
This cover is amazing!!!
Never gets old
Perfect choice for a cover.
Well it's quite simple: The Doors (melody) meet The Velvets (sound) = Opal!
This girl is not even real..She is just a reflection of our imagination and she is living inside a state of our collective consciousness. I am not stoned by the way...
Got to click 1000th like. Effervescence.
Wow!
Beautifully ethereal.
Whoever were playing Ray's and Robbie's parts really nailed it as both men would have done.
This is great!. I hope no one else starts watching it, so I don't have to start watching ads.
No copyright recognition on this one... it should stay free of ads. I don't monetize my channels.
+dammbleth2 lol cynic
Ahah
@@Opalstardream Just for the record: I really wouldn't mind watching an ad or two all that much to hear this amazing music. THX fer tha upload friend!

Opal is like an amazing mix of bands I love - v.u. , floyd, galacie 500 etc. They are sooo underrated
What is v.u.?
Velvet undeeground?
Yikes!.... What a Gem...Fav doors tune,..Just Great...Good Job here
I've seen Hope cover Syd Barrett, heard her with Chemical Brothers and with Air. This woman is so amazing I can't believe I've never seen this before. Fuck this is the most amazing thing
Really now? Hope covering Syd? That's amazing
Latettaja Yes, Golden Hair
@@no_wire_hangers I would love to hear that!
@@Gunners_Mate_Guns you can find it on UA-cam. Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions - Golden Hair
@@no_wire_hangers Yeah, just found it.
Nicely done.
What I'd really like to hear was for them to do "Late Night," also from Syd, but ( :~( ) Dave Roback died last year, so it'll never happen with Mazzy Star and a guitarist who could do the beautiful bottleneck part for that song.
yep ,every so often you find a great gem like this
her voice was made for this song
fucking delightful...so used to the other versions..this is so electrifying.....thank you so much !
C est la voix de hope qui sauvera le monde.
I saw them 1988 at the Rote Fabrik in Zürich, the Sound was not as good as here, but her Voice came through. But I think it was Opal in Name only. It was the Beginning of Mazzy Star.
We all need hope!!!!!!
best cover
she and jim morrison together? holy shit
Hope 🌹 & Mazzy Star

TIMELESS Treasures. Tongue-Tied for certain. Floating away now... laters folks.🙏🎶🖤🌌🌜🔮⌛👀💋💋💥💥😉👍
Sounds like Ray Manzarek (the organ player of The Doors) is playing the organ.
But I've never even heard this before :O
Perfection
yep
She is enchating!
Probably my favorite song from Opal. I wish that Early Recordings volume 2 had a better sound quality though, but i'm not sure that exists.
+Dylan Parks I have the Opal '45 of "Indian Summer". The Opal video I've posted on youtube of "Indian Summer" is sourced from Early Recordings Vol II, with a little eq. (I am getting ready to record a batch of vinyl, and will repost it soon in HD from the original vinyl. It will be posted to the Mazzy Star and Hope Sandoval Group on Facebook first. I will make sure you know). I have also posted an excellent video for "Freight Train" from a quality vinyl EP. *There is a Clay Allison promo cassette with quality versions of Sailing Boats (a favorite of mine), Lisa's Funeral and Vespers available on Discogs... for the low price of $277.70! www.discogs.com/Clay-Allison-Clay-Allison/release/7679417
Some did.. on a Clay Allison Promo Cassette. It was available for 275 dollars on Discogs.
There is a better version of Sailing Boats out there somewhere? That's my favorite Opal song. Please please upload if you have. @@Opalstardream
@@uranderson "Sailing Boats" and four other unreleased tracks will be available on the re-release of Opal Early Recordings. It has been delayed due to David's passing, but will be available soon. I pre-orderd it awhile back, but nothing yet...
@@Opalstardream That's great news. Thanks for the update, I'll keep an eye out.
Brilliant ✨💎✨
this is Awesome..i love it..Super Cool.✌👌
Great stuff
The Doors? Maybe. The Velvet Underground? Definitely. The prominent droning organ. The fuzzy noodling guitar. The simple singular Mo Tucker style drums. The overall psychedelic trippy sound. Classic child-of-the-Velvets sound!
Back in the 80's, this was called Paisley Underground.
@Joseph Armand - Doors sound definitely. But I agree that this cover of The Doors song Indian Summer sounds more like it was influenced by the VU.
You do know this is a Doors song, right?
Okay! Thank you so much! I'm really getting into Opal again and I'd really love to hear a good quality version of some of the songs off of early recordings 2.
It wouldn't let me reply for some reason btw so that's why it's up here.
well cool
I feel like I’ve just reached the summit of Mt Everest
I see
Hope has ensnared a lot of passes by..just don't fight it, it's impossible. Nobody has escaped so far
my good headphones are broken and it makes me sad that I can't listen through them now
The doors + hope ✌️
you guys in the comments need to listen to the version from early recordings with kendra smith on vocals...
Yes, they do...
ua-cam.com/video/ziK4c2TnFmo/v-deo.html
Agreed...w all due respect to Hope, Kendra's deeper voice sounds better on this Doorsy psych numbers.
Please cover the Doors' The End...please, before you die. Obviously, the Oedipus angle needs artistically modifying for Hope, but they're creative and can think of an appropriate alternative angle. It would be awesome. The song was made for her!
This!!! I second, third, fourth and fifth this comment as my soul needs to hear her do this cover.
Sh*t the world needs this cover
For THEY it's too Late......
The best..it's all ..you're running out of time!!🎲🎲
Where can I find this song? Or is it just a rare live version? Is this on vinyl or anything?
mazzystar.free.fr
between Kendra leaving and Hope joining there wasn't a lot of time. They must've been practicing together before Kendra left the band
Is there a studio version available? thx so much!
TheMidoriDreams did you by any chance find one? Or anything like that
I remember a studio version of Indian Summer. It was a B side for a Fanzine - a fan magazine.
