Super underrated! I totally agree! It’s an amazing product. I use it all the time! Thanks for watching James!
@@GarageGear heh last night we were following a sedan in the rain, couldn’t even see through their rear window into the cabin. Been using rainx since the 1980s. Ill try the wet rag idea. I thought about buying a circular pad on a drill for buffing wax, use that on the glass maybe?
@@PerfDayToday hey David! You shouldn’t need to go that far buffing it. A damp rag is all you need. That takes care of the haze fast. Thanks for watching
I remember back in the day my mom had a oldsmobile that didn’t have very good working wipers, we got caught in a storm a pulled into a parking lot the next day is the day I learned about rain x and I put it on my moms car and it worked great.
Just got a bottle today for my car,man time flies.
It barely rains where I live
Truck driver here. Rainx works great and allows me to see with great visibility all the cars that have their flashers on that are slowing me down because they don't use Rainx. Thanks Rainx! ...now you just need to do a video on how to pee in a gatorade bottle at highway speeds.
Haha that would be something! Lol I barely use the wipers in some rain storms! It works that well! Thanks for checking out my channel Kitchen spider!
🤣🤣🤣 fellow driver that laughed at this
I've been using Rain-X for the past 10 years a driver has to be able to see while he or she are driving. Rednecks is the best thing for your vehicle and for all the windows on your house!
Thanks,my grandaughter is a transport driver now and we were just talking about the bugs and birds ,she likes driving at night amd 8 - 10 hrs at a time down through the panhandle. So we were wondering what would be good. Thanks for thecfeedback. NELLSEMPIRER
I use Rainx on my tractor all the time ...... and empty Arizona bottles with the wide tops at 70mph.
I love how straight to the point all your videos are. You explain succinctly everything we would want to know about the product, application, and your experience using it. For amateurs like myself I like how you often demonstrate on your own vehicles to show how the products are used.
I first bought NuFinish after watching your tutorial and just bought this as well because it is very easy to apply after learning from your video and very affordable at my local hardware store.
Awesome Vincent! Glad my videos are helping you out! I’ve been using these products for a very long time. And when I set this channel up a while back I wanted it to be an educational channel with a touch of entertainment lol! Thanks for being a cool fan! 👍
Don't do the damp cloth. By doing that you remove some of the rainx film. Spend the extra time buffing it with a clean cloth and you will have longer use of the product. And also the water beads will be AMAZING
Thanks for sharing!
Was already using this because my windshield wipers stopped working and too cheap to fix them yet and not enough time to try myself yet, i was lucky to have discovered the product one day by random at the store before the wipers stopped working then remembered what I saw and came back to buy it, but anyways i got an idea that might get you lots of views, make a video titled how to repair any window wiper, then just show yourself applying rainx and driving around in the rain without your wipers, is gonna get over 1m views and send me half the ad revenue after
Hahaha thanks for the video idea AB! Could be a winner! Thanks for watching! 👍
This is so realistic!
I know right!!! Just keeping it simple for everyone! You Da Man Mike!
Love the energy, love the conciseness, love the Jeep, subbed brother.
Thanks for watching Chris! Enjoy your weekend!
Great tutorial. I was on the fence and didn't quite understand how Rain-X works. You make it look so simple to apply. I'm sold lol.
Not much to it Jenn! Trust me once you do it you’ll be putting it on every other month! Have fun! 👍
I found a new way to apply the Rain-X, but the Rain-X onto your windshield all windows and outside mirrors. Wash all your windows and outside mirrors then rinse them off no start beating off automatically!
I love rainex
When I was in Western Washington, everyone had Rain-X. It rained so frequently we needed it. We would apply it to every window in the vehicle though. Must buy product!
I bet it’s super helpful there!
Thanks ! I'm going to buy some right now.
Hey Mike! You won’t be disappointed with it! Especially when you’re going 65mph and will have virtually no need to turn the wipers on! Thanks for watching 👍
Does this also work on rear window of a sedan without rear window wipers?
Absolutely does! I put this on all my windows! When I had my car I did my back window and rain flew right off
Does Rain-X help reduce / eliminate window fogging? I drove thru a hot Summer rainstorm last night, and my worst problem was the driver and passenger windows fogging up, killing the visibility of my mirrors. I had to open and close the windows to wipe them clean repeatedly.
Thanks!
Good question. Rain x doesn’t reduce window fogging. Thanks for watching
I use Rain-X product all the time. But I discovered a new way to apply the Rain-X and take it off. Take the Rain-X water repellent put on everywhere that's glass only glass only then wash your vehicle using Rain-X Spot Free and streak free shine car wash.
Thanks for sharing
Can you tell how long it's repellency lasts?
Also I'm from India, where due to sunlight, car body temperature goes high. Is there a possibility of danger?
Hey doya. No danger to worry about. It usually lasts about 1-2 months depending on how much rain/use it gets. Thanks for watching
If your going 60+ mph and it rains.. not pouring but just light rain, I usually dont even use my wipers...

Hey man I already have a bottle of Meguiar’s ultimate wax, is the rain x better or should I just use the Meguiar’s? I’m looking for application on the outside rear glass of my 2018 accord. I recently had the rear glass re tinted, and I noticed a spot that sheets water like a puddle on the outside, while the rest of the glass beads, ends up they used a torch on the top corner of the glass exterior during removal/installation, the heat removed any hydrophobic coating that the exterior surface of the glass had, so now I have to find a way to restore it.
I would stick with rain x on the glass. If your tint is applied to the inside of the glass you should not have any issues
@@GarageGear ok man thanks! I tried some Meguiar’s express spray wax 156 and it beads better, but the beads aren’t the same like the rest of the glass, they are larger beads, hopefully the rain x does a better job and provides smaller, tighter beads like the rest of the glass.
@@STILLNIGHTPEARL keep us posted! Hope it works well for you.
Genuinly impressed with this product. I always thought my window was just damaged from rocks having little chips or genuinly from riding on dirt roads. Its nuts how oblivious i was because after i got this and followed these steps i was shocked at the beads and how i have no wiper streaks. This is nuts. Im so glad this video ended up on my feed randomly
Awesome beese rain x is great stuff!
Been using rainex for a year but in time it lives fine cloudy residues which been effecting from a vehicles coming from opposite direction at night make the feont view hazy. So i stopped using them.
If you use the wet towel wipe and dry towel to buff you won’t have the haze. Thanks for watching

This can be used in the windows right?? For the moist. Kinda difficult to see my side mirrors because of moist on my windows when it rains
It can be used on all glass windows. It sounds like you need to adjust your thermostat and fan directions when it’s raining!
Love the Rain-X, and their wiper blades. Good products.
ALLEY!!! Totally agree! They make great stuff! Thanks for being a fan of the channel!
This is an excellent product to always have on obviously, but I would consider at must before a long road trip for sure.
Definitely a must before a road trip! Thanks for watching
would be smart to apply to side and back windows too, right?
Yep works on any glass! 👍
Rain-X is the best out there. I have used it for years and love it. It really does work. Can use it on side glass, and back window, plus it take out the fog on mirrors.
Believe it or not it actually pulls tree sap off really well too! Thanks for watching
When a semi passes me and thows mist across my glass I love Rain-X. The wipers can't keep up with the deluge, but it beads and blows away without temporarily blinding me.
This is a good point! Rain x definitely helps!
RAIN EX JUST BEFORE CAR WASH ..EASY REMOVER..
Great tip 👍
Can I just use high pressure gun to remove the haze? I think it is more easier😅
Just bud it with a wet rag. Comes right off
I've been using Rain-X a long time and have found that after the application stage you can just wash the windshield with water from a hose, or in my case I usually use a spray bottle of distilled water so it won't leave spots, and wipe it down with a soaking wet shop towel; basically remove what you just put on; except the molecular layer that's adhered to the glass stays and works just like in your video. It's a little quicker and easier than your method and there's never any visible haze left.
Thanks for sharing glenn
is it okay to mix rainx directly to the water on the wiper tank?
No I would not do that!
I do my windows the same way as you do, except I use a wet paper shop towel to lightly wipe the haze. But the results are great - even after 9 mo's there is still a beading action.
Awesome Larry! Thanks for sharing!
Hi, can Rain X hold good for the side windows and side mirrors ?
Because i know it will brushed along with the windows rolling in and out
Anyone ever tried it ?
Hey Brian! Works great on side windows and actually last longer on side windows because there is not as much hitting it like the windshield. If you have glass mirrors then use it but they are plastic do not. Thanks for watching!
Thanks alot sir, i juwt applied water repellent and anti fog. I hope it works well
@@brianananta175 awesome! Sounds like you’re all set!
One more question for you, are use microfiber rags to wipe down my windows, but it seems like they are very streaky when I’m done, is there a different kind of cloth to use for windows? The microfibers just don’t seem to work very well and leaves it smeared
I actually use a normal towel that is damp to remove it and then buff it with a dry towel. Watch that part on how I remove it and you’ll see how I do it. You may have to do it twice sometimes with the damp towel.
Doesn’t last long in the Oregon rain forest
Yeah depending on your climate it may be short lived.
Hi friend, how are you? I'm from Brazil! The product is fantastic! Congratulations for video!

I had a buddy in college that bought Rain-X chewing tobacco and would spit on his GF's back. Weird dude.

If It's your first time to apply Rain-X and you Clean the Windows with Windex, RINSE the Windex OFF the Glass well with clean water BEFORE applying Rain-X.
Any residue of Windex on the glass will diminish the effectiveness of the Rain-X.

What commie state do you live in where you have 2 or 3 different forms of “Do you have your papers” displayed in your windshield? Good video thought 👍🏻
Appreciate the positive feedback Mr Joel! I live in Buffalo New York where your taxes just for thinking of something lol! Thanks for watching!
Applying rain X is easy, if someone cant follow manufacturers instructions then they shouldn't have a vehicle
It’s pretty straightforward Adam! Thanks for watching
How long should rain-X last? It seems like I need to do mine every couple weeks and I do exactly this! Minus using the wet rag to remove. Am I doing something wrong, or is that just how it is?
Hey Jared! I usually get about 1-2 months of use depending on how much it rains. I just use the wet rag so I don’t have a haze. Thanks for watching
Hey just a question, should you let the rainX cure first?
Rain x cures very fast! Usually in about 15 seconds then it’s ready to be removed! Thanks for watching Trevor!
I've been using this stuff here in the UK for 25 years. Just done another application because I have a 300-mile drive overnight and it is going to rain all the way. This stuff makes your car safer It's quite possible to drive without wipers after applying this stuff.
I also use it on the Velux windows in my loft as it keeps them clean longer.
Awesome my friend we think alike!
I’m not going to the garage dude I’m actually in the kitchen
Haha thanks for watching!
Using The Rain X washer fluid isn't like applying the Rain X coating to the glass. It just has some stuff in it to help the dirt or bugs come off easier.
Yep thanks for sharing!
I've been using Rain-X for years. With the slope of my car's windshield, I can drive through a driving rainstorm on the interstate and not even turn on my wipers.
Same here my friend! Pretty awesome!
Can Rain-X be applied on the paint of the car and chrome parts?
Good question Li. Do not apply it to any paint on your vehicle. It’s only made for glass. Thanks for watching!
The process is great. 👍But the final buff towel in my experience leaves very small amount of lint. I suggest the towels just for windows
Thanks for watching and sharing
Thanks so much for posting this awesome video, I'm applying this stuff on my civic this morning!
Awesome! It works great!
Oh man, as a vertically challenged person I was really hoping the spray bottle meant I could just spray it on instead of trying to reach the middle of my windscreen haha
No worries my friend! Even I use a step stool! Hit the whole thing and you’re good to go!
I've been using Rain-X for years. Before Rain-X came out my friends and I used to wax our windshields. Several years ago I tried that NXT wax which I loved on my vehicle on half of my windshield and Rain-X on the other half just to see how good Rain-X was compared to the old school days of us waxing the windshield. Rain X won hands down. Thanks for the tip on the damp microfiber. I don't know why I didn't think of it. 🙄 I either spray my car down afterwards or do it right before I go through a car wash. Not to mention the link to the big towel from chemical guys. 👍
Awesome idea on the test comparison my friend! Rain X is great stuff! I used to work at a car wash/detail shop and I learned the damp cloth trick from a friend of mine. Works well! You’re welcome for the link! Thanks for checking out the channel jtpro!
Is this any good for vertical windows? (Like the passenger, driver, and side windows)
Works on all glass windows my friend! 👍
Love the realistic bit
Gotta keep it realistic! Thanks for watching!
I grabbed it instead of Moon Shine Glass Cleaner on the inside of my windshield. It was a mess to clean off. Don't make my mistake.
Thanks for sharing Susan!
Is there a product which I can apply on the exterior of the car (paint, chrome, plastic) to protect it from water, dirt, and UV rays? Which one would you recommend it to me?
I would definitely recommend Meguiars NXT wax 2.0! Great car wax for your cars paint! Thanks for watching!
What about bugs.
Hey Channel! It doesn’t protect your windshield from bugs if that is what you’re asking. No product out there will. Is there a more specific question about it that you had?
Good evening JB. Hopefully you are still paying attention to old vids. I applied RainX to my Outback, and afterwards I got terrible wiper chatter. The wipers were basically sticking to the windshield! I have since tried to remove the RainX with Alcohol, Dawn, Vinegar, Bartender's friend etc. They are much better, but what I do not understand, is why they began chattering and sticking to the windshield after applying the RainX.
I washed the windshield first, even used a magic eraser to help get off some grime. I applied 2 coats, but I sprayed more on my towel before doing the second side, so I am thinking maybe I applied too much? I also buffed it off with a dry towel. Maybe using a wet towel would have made it better.
To say I am scared to apply the RainX again, would be an understatement. We had to drive home on the highway through a busy city, 2.5 hr drive. In the bumper to bumper traffic, it was terrible! once at 60mph, it was fine as I did not need to wipe.
Thanks
Hey Billy! Not to step on your toes so to speak but I have been using this for decades and have never had this issue. Few questions. Did you apply the rain x the way I did in the video? And remove it the same way? Also how old are your wipers? I’m wondering if they are old and part of the issue.
@@GarageGear I cleaned the window and applied using a microfiber cloth, but maybe it was the cloth I used? I sprayed it on the cloth, wiped one side, sprayed it on the cloth again, and did the other side. Then did a second coat the same way and then dry buffed it off with a new microfiber cloth, same style of cloth. It is not a tight weave cloth, it is a little more fluffy so to speak. So that is why I maybe think it was the cloth?
@@billylacharity3443 usually I wet a rag and wipe it all off. Then I hit it with a dry rag for a final buff. Shouldn’t see any streaks. I would try that and see how it goes.
Thanks for sharing your Rain-X how to video! I will definitely be trying this out real soon. And I'm really looking forward to seeing how well it works.
It works great! Been using it for decades! 👍
It contains acetone, a flammable, carcinogenic substance. Wear protective gloves and use with adequate ventilation.

Does anyone's wiper start to make noise after applying Rain-X? Don't get me wrong, it is an excellent product, seems to cause the wiper to "stutter". Only apply it to the side mirrors and windows and the rear (sometimes, to avoid the "stutter") window.
Hey Hana are your wipers a few years old?
@@GarageGear do not recall, probably, the wiper is about 6 months before I start applying Rain-X. Not long after that, the wiper starts to stutter when using it.
Just wondering - if we should not use the wiper when Rain-x is applied, at least till the application is dried /washed out?
Btw, I live in the tropics and not sure of that plays a part. Cheers
@@yut576 ok I wonder if the rubber on your wipers is dried out. I apply rain x about every 1 -2 months and replace wipers every two years.

I use Rain on my entire truck.
It takes me 10-15 minutes to do my entire truck every 4 weeks. You can get it all over everything and it hurts nothin.
No wax stuck in cracks. Don’t have to apply pressure to get it off so reduces chances for swirl marks. And it’s cheap. Keeps the dirt and water off my daily driver and it’s super fast and easy to do.

Did you applied the RainX on the paint of your car?
@@lichao420
Yes, when I don’t have the time to wax my daily driver. I spray it on & use a damp cloth followed by a dry one to wipe off immediately. Obviously it’s not a perfect as waxing the car, but for something that takes less then 10 minutes it’s pretty good. Rain X advertises that it’s safe on all surfaces of your car. Even the plastics.
What a heck do I do when my vipers jump like kangaroos after applying Rain-X?
Hey Oyvind, are your wipers a few years old? Or worn out? If so you may want to buy some new ones. I’ve never had this issue and I change my wipers every few years when they wear out. Thanks for checking out my channel. 👍
My old wipers was from around newyear, living in Norway with ice, snow and salt on the roads are hard on the wipers. Now i bought brand new ones with no change. My wipers continue jumping.
@@oyvind-b I still think it has to be the wipers somehow. I’ve been using rain-x for 20 years without a problem. You could probably use isopropyl alcohol(or some strong glass cleaner) to remove the rain-x you just applied. If the wipers still jump then it’s not the rain-x. Perhaps it’s the type of wipers you have? I know that Bosch makes a pretty good wiper blade. Try removing it and see what happens.

I don’t believe they put ceramic coatings on the glass. I could be wrong but you could call your dealership and ask. Typically they just put that on painted surfaces.

I bought some raInx and wanted to watch several videos to get the full scope of how to apply it and how it performs. This guy just convinced me to not use it on my front windshield because near the end of the video he said aplying car wax to the glass does the same thing.
Many years ago when I could see a lot better than I see now I put car wax on my front windshield and all my other glass. I could hardly wait for it to wear off and stop working. At night in rain with the wipers going wax caused street lights and other vehicle lights to make such a glare that I was nearly blinded by that glare. It was especially bad at intersections and where there was a street light right at the intersetion. I had to go really slow and creep to make the turn and stay in the right place in the road to keep from looking like a drunk driver. No I wasn't drinking and driving.
The car wax was OK in side windows and the rear glass. Since I already have have the rainx I'll use it on all the glass except the front windshield.
Maybe that's just my experience. If so, OK.
Thanks for watching southern exposure
I've simplfied this even more. Sometimes before a wash, I'll apply rainx directly to a dirty window, as if using the rainx to clean the window. I'll go around and give each window a second coat, then I just rinse well and wash the car. It works just as good and really doesn't get much easier than that.
Thanks for sharing that tip to the garage your community!

Hey Melanin, great question! If you have glass mirrors (on much older vehicles) then the answer would be yes. Most modern vehicles however have plastic mirrors and I’m afraid they will not work on them. I agree not being able to see out your side mirrors is frustrating.
