    Wow that’s awesome techniques to add to my skills. Yes the rocks look more solid and one almost looks like it has the start of some moss growing on it. Thanks for sharing these tips, because it’s definitely helping me with figuring out different things for my landscapes.

    Wonderful Michelle! Whenever i think that watercolour is too difficult and i’m going to give up in favour of soft pastels, a video like this makes me want totry again with a rocky beach scene. Thanks again 👍

    Great tips Michele. Hadn’t thought of granulating colors even though now they seem obvious for rocks. 😝 And I like the glazing effect too. Thx very much. 🥰

    I got excited, your painting rocks, I haven't done that in years! Click on video oh you're painting rocks on paper..."sighs" (still a good video)
    Looking closer at the title, watercolor does not work well if at all on rocks.

    Michele, what is "paper tissue?" In the video, it looks like what we call paper towels (that come on a roll) usually used in the kitchen. Or is it what we hear in the U.S. call Kleenex, to blow our noses especially when we have colds? Or there is what we here call "tissue paper" usually used to wrap presents inside a nice box before we close the box and wrap it in fancy wrapping paper to give for a gift. Which one of these are you using? I'm guessing it's paper towels because it has little equidistant pucker marks on it. Thank you for this video. I'm gathering up some granulating colors to try painting rocks now.

      Yes paper towels. In the UK we call it Kitchen Paper, but that confuses people in other countries!

      Hi Michele, You are really fantastic! I watched several of your videos last night, and they were so helpful! I also see that my paper towels have a dot pattern that shows up in painting, so I need to get another brand, and also you showed how to crunch it up very well to get the best results. I'd like to ask you about the stretching process. If I use a watercolor block, perhaps I don't need to do the stretching? I know you say it's best, and I'm sure you're right, and decades ago when I took at class, I stretched or stapled. I can't quite remember. But my space is more limited now, and if I can simply use my watercolor blocks, it would be ideal. I've been taping my paper to the back of a rubber cutting mat, and that is not working. Lots of buckling! Thanks for your wonderful teaching! SAM

    Can you use “granulating medium” for rocks? Thanks 💜

    • @IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber
      @IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber  2 роки тому

      Yes you can! However the one I tried wasn't very effective, I have yet to find a brand that's as good as granulating colours.

    I’ve tried painting rocks myself and they don’t even look like rocks because they have no texture and they’re a single colour. This does help.

    Very nice granular effect. Texture. I’m finding myself looking at this video a second time.
    You’ve encouraged me to finish a colored pencil and watercolor picture of a volcano dragon from Iceland. I believe your paint mixing with a granular color will give his skin a more crepe-look
    No baby pictures for me
