man, i LOVE this band! I'd only heard three or four of their songs from soundtrack cds...then...i went out & got eight cds by them including "live at town hall" or some hall....i love EVERY song by them and i'm an old man by most music standards...grew up on the beatles, stones, mamas & papa, kinks, etc..when they were in their primes. I've found my new favorite group....first new one since early r.e.m. GREAT GROUP
woah man, that song was amazing!!! so peaceful yet dark, i was almost hypnotized, literally. i could feel me dozing off into a trance, not from boredom.
Eels is , both as a solo artist and in band, indeed Genius, I just read his book (things the grandchildren should know) and it only greatens my respect for the man. People sometimes say he is to depressed, but in my view he balances the ups and downs perfectly, and combines his great lirycs with melody's and music that are just as good.
Wow, you're right. Haha! Very underrated movie, I watch it at least twice a year. "He's not even depressed!" "Look at me,... I look very fucking depressed!" 1997 was such an amazing year for alternative music anyway.
...it's the mix by Michael Simpson of the Dust Brothers. Don't know if it had been released before, but you can get it on the compiliation "Useless Trinkets" which came out this year.
OMG-u are my equal! I feel exactly the same about the eels, and i was brought up with the same music! You have fantastic taste! Eels are brilliant-and this song, along with all their others is amazing! I really want to see them live! :D
It's a shame that E's music is often overlooked by mainstream music. They're ignoring a genius who can write a whiskey-soaked rocker and follow it with a jaw-droppingly beautiful ballad accompanied by a string quartet. Let's all tell our friends to tell their friends to tell their friends to listen to the Eels! Yep. Check out his cover of Dylan's "Girl from the North Country." Stunning.
Someone probably already posted this a long time ago but just for clarification this is the Michael Simpson Remix version of this song, not the original version released on Beautiful Freak. Yeah, just sayin.
there is one fantastic thing about the eels, on nowadays only a few are fans but almost everybody knows at least one song , from Shrek or yes Man, it s incredible . when you play my beloved monster , anyone goes..WOAW i know this ! Eels the greatest strange rock from the 90's
they have simple beats they never use more than a keyboard and drums or a beatpad and guitar most there songs are pretty slow and the dont usualy use chords they usualy just pick witch makes it sound simple but in no way was it a insult e is a musical genius its just not realy my genre but at times feel like listening to it i didnt realize some idiots would get there pantys in a bunch just cause ppl think diffrently

La versione originale era sul primo Scream.
