If you know the Selbach properties, their vines grow on a very steep incline coming upwards from the river. Thus the reason for the name. They use the pole system to grow the vines because of the steepness of the property.

I know other people who do that too. I'm not sure if it is just my crazy desire to try all the things, but I've found some that are pretty enjoyable. A few duds here and there too.
