Loved your video and highlights. I loved Charleston Lake for the trails and kayaking, Arrowhead is beautiful. A waterfront site at Presqu'ile is awesome but not much else to do there. Went to Pinery 10 years ago, loved it but I heard there's lots of caterpillars now. This summer we will try MacGregor Point and Awenda or Killbear. So many places to discover.
Love your videos. You two are great ambassadors for camping in Ontario. My wife and I, along with our four children and now 13 grandchildren are tent campers (home town - Windsor). But we only go to one Provincial Park -- the Pinery. Sunsets, the Dunes and no mosquitos - it is perfect for us to get together. I have been to other parks and you are teasing me to see more. I was surprised you hadn't been exposed to fish flies (in your Long Point video). In Essex County we are experts on June bugs/fish flies. Town of Belle River could hold a fish fly festival.
Ya, it's surprising that we haven't really experienced them much. I think they were at Presqu'ile when we were there and at Long Point. Several people pointed out that they are known as fish flies. I guess we usually camp more northern parks and don't run into them there.
Agree with Marjorie, Bonnechere pp is a great park, and has a wonderful beach and store as well as 4 rustic cabins that we would go to every year! The bonnechere river is great for canoeing 🛶.
Ben and Cheryl, thank you for these awesome videos! You've just influenced a couple of choices for our 2021 camping season. Visiting our beautiful Ontario Provincial Parks was the best thing for our sanity last summer & I can hardly wait to get out again. Discovering your videos comes at the perfect time as I begin planning this summer's schedule. Charleston Lake is on our list as recommended by a friend, your video seals the deal. We discovered Rondeau's beauty in 2020 where the beaches are (still) amazing and have it booked again for this summer. Our absolute favourite park in the province is Killarney which we discovered years ago as backcountry trippers. I'd love to try it with our new trailer but have to convince my husband into boondocking it. We honeymooned in Algonquin many moons ago on a 10 day circuitous canoe trip and so it holds a special place in our hearts, but a recent trip revealed it's become just too busy for us. Still, it was good to see it so well used. And all of our parks, Ontario really does it so well!
Thanks for you kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed the videos. It sounds like you are similar to us in that you started up with backpacking and Canoe trips. We've done several canoe trips in Algonquin and Kilarney. We haven't stayed at the campground in Kilarney though but it's in our thoughts for the future. We can't wait for the next camping season to begin. We have lots of trips and videos planed for 2021. Maybe we'll see you out there. Happy Camping!
That's pretty awesome that my All-time favorite park made ur top 5..👍👍 Our favorite park is Restoule PP. Now perhaps I'm bias because this is the park I essentially took my family to for 20+ years, and although we've tried other parks Arrowhead, Martin River etc... There was always something about Restoule that called to us. It's likely the memories ...lol. but it truly is a Great park. I love the privacy of some of the "Belle's site" sites. Those sites are non electrical, so obviously that needs to be up your alley. But love the channel guys... And enjoy the camping😊😊👍
Thanks for watching and commenting. We've only been to Restoule once and we were very impressed with it. We're exploring lots more parks with the hopes of finding new hidden gems to us, to make into the next top 5. Happy camping.
Great video. Before we bought our RV we were tenting. Been to pinery a couple of times and loved it. Also liked presquile. But our favourite was when we went north to pancake bay. Absolutely beautiful. Lots of Lakeview sites. And the beach is stunning. Almost Caribbean like. This summer we're going to pog lake for our holidays. Already booked at Darlington for may 24. Getting excited for the summer.
Thanks for the feedback. We went to Lake Superior Provincial Park near Pancake Bay a few years ago. We went in August and it was cold for the entire week. The water was beautiful but way to cold to swim in. I feel that summer is short enough as it is and I don't want to do autumn camping in the middle of August. Cheryl loved it though. We usually agree on our park opinions but that was one we disagreed on. We may have to give it another go though. We'll see. Happy Camping!
I second Silent Lake. We were there for our honeymoon 29 years ago, went a few years back when we first got our trailer and just booked for this year again. Great sites, pretty quiet and awesome kayaking on a lake that has no motorized boats.
Thanks for the input on Silent Lake. We are considering it for this summer for a 3 park trip possibly including Bon Echo and Murphy's Point. Happy Camping!
Not a bad list, Restoule and Charleston are a couple of our favorites. Pinery was fun when I was in high school but it's too much of a party park for us to really enjoy as adults. Algonquin is a bit hit or miss, some of the campgrounds in it are great some are pretty lack luster, you'd really have to divide it into it's individual campgrounds.
There's a hidden gem in Eastern Ontario I've been going to since I was 3 years old....Bonnechere PP. You won't be disappointed. Beautiful small park!! The park store which is named after the parks former hostesses from when I was a kid, Mr. and Mrs. Davenport. Mr. Davenport designed the firepits you see today at all PPs. They were super nice people! They're hostess campsite is marked by 2 green rings on the sites post marker #88. A beautiful riverside site!
I absolutely love that you enjoyed Restoule. I spent every summer there, growing up. It's my happy place. I highly recommend you consider going back for your Thanksgiving camping trip. You cannot imagine how gorgeous the view is from the Bluffs when the Fall colours are in effect!
Thank you for these wonderful videos and reviews you post they are so helpful. I am an avid camper and visitor to these beautiful parks we have in this wonderful province for us to enjoy. I have introduced my wife and children to this also and they absolutely love it, we started out tent camping and have moved on to cabins and yurts although we will continue to tent camp also. Sending respect from my family to yours. Keep up the great videis. From Toronto,Ontario,👍👍
@CampingwiththeColes You're very welcome. I have a question, if you don't mind. Have you always camped with your RV, or have you ever gone tent, cabin, or yurt camping?. Thank you.
@@Daniel-ie6tg we started out in the 80s and 90s back country camping by canoe. We then started into "car camping" in tents until we got our first trailer in 2010. Since then we never looked back. We're too used to the good life now to go back to roughing it.😁

@CampingwiththeColes I completely understand not going back. Back country camping is amazing yet challenging. I have done this in Algonquin Park with some pretty intense portages, but the beauty of the park took precedence over all else. My girls are young, but when they get a little older, I will definitely introduce them to back country paddling and camping. We have two trips coming up, one this month and the other next month.
I have been to 73 Ontario Provincial Parks based on a recent count. I am a "car and tent" camper, usually staying 1 night and moving on. Last summer I went to several north of Sudbury/North Bay. I agree Algonquin is the best one. If you want easy reservation access (and don't mind taking time to get there), the more northern ones had it in 2020 (I went June 26-July 12) whereas many didn't. In 2020 summer, I went to Nagamasisis, Kettle Lakes, Fushimi Lake, Rene Brunelle, Esker Lakes, Marten River, Finlayson Point, White Lake, and Neys. Good choices in 2020, and likely 2021 for people who can't get a reservation in other areas due to high volume - I never booked in advance. Some allowed bike and boat rentals (you needed your own life jacket) - whereas most parks didn't in 2020 and likely won't in 2021.
Wow, 73 parks! That's quite an accomplishment. We've spent many years going back to the same handful of parks. It wasn't until about 4 years ago we started branching out and expanding our horizons. Starting our UA-cam park reviews in 2019 motivated us to try new parks. This summer we have plans for 13 parks with 11 of them new for park reviews and 9 of them first time parks for us. Someday we hope to spend some time and do a run of the more northern parks like you did. We still have lots to explore in this wonderful province. Happy Camping!
@@CampingwiththeColes I definitely haven't done the extent of things you have done at each one. Some of the ones I've been to are day use only. Thank you for the video!
I really like Silent Lake. I have been tent camping there twice. There is a long trail that goes around the lake. This sommer will be the first time with my new Prolite RV. Looking forward to it. You should put it on your list. Merçi.
Well now I have to add Algonquin to bucket list...we just camped at Mikisew on your recommendation we loved it dog park was great. We have to agree the dump station could be improved.
OMG! Bonnechere! You can kayak the river for hours! Its beautiful. River sites are non electric, but you can put your kayak in from your site. Round lake is also right there and easy to kayak when its a calm day, fun to go along shore and check out the cottages.
Coles, need to check out Martin River such an beautiful park! was there and six mile, and Killbear last year. I have Oastler Lake , Restoule planned this year.
I was watching this video on youtube on my TV and I could not leave a comment there. This is an excellent video with great information for a family kind of a trip. We were in Quebec on an RV in the summer of 2020, where we covered 2 Parcs Canada and two Sepac national parks. We were thinking of doing the same in Ontario this year. This video came with lots of tips for us. Thank you for sharing. Btw, just to reconfirm, these parks allow car camping, including RV?
Thanks for the support. All parks mentioned in this video and all my videos allow RVs and have many sites with electrical hookups. You have to fill up your water tank at the Potable Water Fill Up area of each park, as they don't have water hookups at the sites. Happy Camping!
Thanks very much for uploading a very good video, very informative really. We will be going to Algonquin this summer and will visit Arrowhead as well. So, thanks again!👍
Also, re. Achray, it’s wonderful but no hydro for a large trailer and the gravel road in was pretty treacherous the year we went. The canyon and the trail is magnificent and well worth the visit though. I hope to return with an SUV tent soon. I need to get to the chute at high falls!
Hi guys! I’ve been doing research on our Ontario parks and your channel showed up. I’ve liked and subscribed! Could you comment more on dogs accommodations? I’m planning for the upcoming season and hope our dog can enjoy with us! Keep up the great work!
Thanks for your support. We'll keep that in mind for future episodes. By the way, Mikisew had a great dog beach area that was completely fenced in. Happy Camping!
Just found your channel. Having come down to southern Ontario from northern Ontario, the information you are giving is very helpful for us. So far we have been to Killbear and Bon Echo.
I'm glad you found us. Killbear and Bon Echo are both great parks. We've been to both several times. We haven't done reviews on them yet though so they weren't in the running for our Top 5 from the last two seasons. We hope to get to Bon Echo in August and do a review. Who knows if it will happen with these crazy times in trying to get a reservation. Happy Camping!
Arrowhead is super. Last time we were at Charleston it was plagued with racoons. We have been interior camping in Algonquin for over 25 years. East, west, north and south sides. We are so fortunate. 🇨🇦
That's funny about Charleston because I don't recall seeing any racoons there. For years we thought Algonquin was only for interior camping but then when we got our first trailer in 2010 someone told us about the campgrounds along Hwy 60 and we've been going there most years ever since.
Thank you for the feedback on your top 5 provincial parks. I have been to the Pinery (back when I was in University, so it has been a while), and Arrowhead (camped there a number of times with my parents and the whole family - have not been back yet but am planning to get there either pre or post retirement. One park I have been to a couple times now and just love it is Frontenac Provincial Park just north of Kingston. Both trips were day hiking trips with one of my brothers and absolutely fell in love with the park. This is one of the cleanest parks I have ever been to thanks to the Friends of Frontenac and other park staff for their tireless work keeping it clean and the trails in pretty good shape. Did the Small Slide Lake Loop Trail (starting and ending on the Perth Road access point. Would like to hear what you have to say about other areas of the park. Two others that may be of interest to you are Bon Echo and Killarney.
Nice round up. Just started RV camping this past summer and I am currently booking for summer 2021. Well at least where I can as some site you cannot book until February. Booked Murphy's Point as a season opener because its only a an hour and a half from home so thought it best to open up the season and shake out any issues with the RV, towing etc before making a long trip. Second booking is Point Pelee at the Wheatley Provincial Park. Hoping to get back to Bon Echo and Charleston Lake sometime this summer.
I hear Murphy's Point is very nice. We are considering going there as part of a 3 park trip this summer including Bon Echo and Silent Lake. Happy Camping!
@@CampingwiththeColes Will look forward to your reports on both. Bon Echo is outstanding for hikes and water based activities like canoeing, kayaking, paddle boards. It also has some very good trails. Murphy's Point is smaller but has excellent paddling opportunities on quiet lakes. Very nice trails and an old mine. I was able to get to both this past summer with the new RV despite COVID19 challenges.
As a fulltime RVer who has travelled North America, despite the areas I’ve travelled to, I agree with your picks! I haven’t been to Charleston, but maybe this summer.
Just came across your channel and love it thanks for sharing all of your experiences with us and all the best on your future adventures and will stay tuned to you next video 👍❤️🇨🇦
Algonquin is my fave! We try to go once each summer. I also have affection for Grundy Lake. It's steller. Multiple lakes, beautiful hikes. So many sites are feet from the water. New subscriber!
I really like Awenda Park near Pentanguishene 5 beaches including a dog beach....snorkelling around a shipwreck....lots of trails, a smaller inland lake for paddling if big lake is rough....big campsites...heavily treed....bring a good flashlight and have fun! Dock lunch and boatcruises are nearby in Penetang....and can purchase freahly caught fish just down the road from campground. Went in Oct. when trees were turning colour....and was still warm enough to swim.
Our favorite is Killbear (Parry Sound) Prov Park. We love Harold's Point! We are expanding our range as we moved to Huntsville this past summer (save up to 2 hours driving). Algonquin, Arrowhead, Mikisew and Killbear are all within an hours drive. We've visited each of them this winter! We have camped at all of them. This summer we camped at Algonquin (Canisay Bay) and Mikisew (first time - fall). Next summer looking further north and will look at your recommendation of Restoule and are looking at Marten River. The only negative we had with Arrowhead, was that our site was in a nice private wooded area, and it rained, and rained and rained. And when it wasn't raining, the water was still dripping of the trees, making you think it was still raining. We also had a "Close Encounter" with the LARGEST BEAR I have ever seen in a Provincial Park. A full size Adult Male, came for a visit during the afternoon. When it realized that the site was occupied, it turned and walked away. Our dog, just looked at it, wondering what it was! (PS. I just Subscribed!)
@@CampingwiththeColes We purchased a Season's Pass, and are making good use of it so far this winter. A great way to get some Social Distancing exercise.
Murphy’s point and Mikisew were great ! And I have never been but I hear some amazing things about Bonn echo which on my list ...I enjoyed your review guys.
hey love the video! I might be a little bias because I work there but I think Finlayson point provincial park in Temagami would be a great addition to your list to visit. Its a small park but it has a lot of charm!
Great to know guys. I will be looking into booking some of those. I have been to the pinery and arrow head and was not disappointed mind you it was a few years ago and with a tent. lol does days are gone. That's what happens when you get older lmao
Really enjoyed this! Thank you! :). One note, I’ve never been ill watching a UA-cam video but got nauseous real quick and had to close my eyes at the spinning fire tower. 🥴🤢🙃
I have been to Esker Park near Kirkland lake and Marten River 40 mins from North Bay and Algonquin Park and we stay at Pog lake.My husband likes Marten River for fishing..He has a fishing kayak..
I've heard that those are some nice parks. We don't often get up that far north. We went to Esker Lakes Provincial Park in the late 80s. We were doing a late May canoe trip, interior camping. The ice on the lake just melted 3 weeks earlier and the black flies were beyond belief. That was when we were young and inexperienced, not realizing how bad black fly season could be. We hope to head up that way again sometime now that we have a little more experience behind us.
Black flies can be very bad at Esker Park. But we go to that park because my sister is Season camper there .It's far ride from Watford Ontario .But skip it this summer and doing 5 nights at Marten River. And I think we are going to try Piney Park this summer too..
We've been hearing that a lot. We've been there interior camping on canoe trips but we haven't seen the campground. We will definitely go some day. Thanks for commenting. Happy Camping!
Hands down our favorite is Lake Superior with a site right on the lake. Love the ruggedness and the fact that it is not a party park. Good fishing, canoeing in both Lake Superior and inland lakes, great trails. Cannot say enough. A number of trading posts on the way and then in Wawa make it a bonus. Like Grundy as an ideal park for introducing children to canoe camping and canoeing in general. Raining day? Head up to Science North in Sudbury. Bon Echo is another favorite, but the Hardwood Hills campground. Quieter and generally better sites. Again, some great canoeing and trails. My favorite being the full Abes & Essens. For canoeing or backpacking, its Frontenac. No car camping here and the backcountry sites are small. So if you really like a sense of wilderness with shorter portages, its difficult to beat.
You are absolutely right about Superior, Grundy and Bon Echo. We haven't been to Frontenac as we only do front country camping now. We hope to do an updated Top 5 real soon as this list is two years old and only based on our first two seasons of park reviews. We now have over 40 parks to choose from.
Thanks Dave. We've been to Killarney, interior camping a few times but have never made it to the organized campground. We loved the Silver Peak hike. We had a couple of close encounters with bears while on interior sites. We hope to go back and check out the campground sometime soon. Happy camping!
love your videos question for your top 5 you rate Pinery as no2 but in a past video you were not happy with the amount of ticks you encountered and also the Poison Ivy around your site....your thoughts please. thanks
We have a soft spot for Pinery. It's been one of our "go to" parks for many years. It's always been a great park for kids and families. The tick situation is something that just started a few years ago. Our dog, Kingston, got infested with ticks and that was our fault. Every year we give him tick protection but forgot that year. If he would have had the proper protection, they would not have latched on or they would have dropped off shortly after latching on. Ticks are prevalent throughout southern Ontario now at all the parks, not just Pinery. The poison ivy has been there as long as I can remember but it has never caused any kind of issue with us. As long as you take the necessary precautions for ticks and poison ivy it's a great park. Good to see you're watching several of our videos and keeping us accountable. Happy camping!
Keep wanting to check out Pinery, as it's open year round with our Travel Trailer...but with showers closed in Ontario...makes it tough to justify going 2 1/2 hrs from Brampton for only a few days...or do they have water/drain hook ups anywhere there? I don't think so though. Just saw Arrowhead late last year too, very beautiful! Good choices!
Thanks. The only Provincial Park that I know of that has water hook ups is one section of Craigleith and I don't know of any with sewage at the site. All the parks have 15/30 amp electrical hook ups and have water taps throughout the park including at the dump station. You can fill your tank with potable water and dump your waist at all the parks, just not at your site.
@@CampingwiththeColes Ah...we're actually camping at Craighleith in April. Never been there. Don't have a truck, just a KIA Sorento 6 cylinder...so trying to ease our way further and further and see how the vehicle handles things. We camp a lot at Earl Rowe as it's pretty close but starting to adventure out a bit further these coming months. Need to pick up a truck in the future! :)
What are your thoughts on Killarney Provincial Park? It is the absolute best in my opinion. We hiked The Crack last summer, and it is not for the faint of the heart- very challenging yet rewarding with breathtaking views. There is a lot of history there considering the Cloche mountain range is older than the Canadian Rockies, and the landscapes there also inspired the Group of Seven's paintings. I'd highly recommend, especially for The Crack and Chikanishing creek trail. On a side note, I also loved Bruce Peninsula national park, it was very quiet at night time and the grounds were very well maintained with easy access to popular hikes and the beach.
We've done a few canoe trips at Killarney and hiked up to Silver Peak. That was when we were "real" campers. Now we camp in luxury in our trailer. We haven't been to the campground there yet but we hope to go soon. The park is beautiful.
just came back from Pancake Bay! It was amazing!!!! We rented a Yurt (it was pretty old and window coverings didn't quite fit). the privy was close to us, and could use a lot of work! painting, cleaning up.. it was filled with flys... You would have rated it really low.. , but the park was beautiful. No bike trails, so that wasn't fun.
We love Six Mile for a family with young kids. Easy to get a spot, with similar beautiful scenery to KillBear. The beach is tiny which is PERFECT if you have little kids to monitor.
We've never stayed at Six Mile Lake, we've just used it as a launching point for a 7 day canoe trip years ago. We'll have to try it out. Thanks. Happy Camping!
When coming up with our top 5 we had a discussion on MacGregor but ended up not including it. It easily could have been up there. I was concerned that my love of the park from nostalgia might have been tainting my view of it. We have many fond family memories of being there over the years. I'm glad you had a great time there, we always do. Happy Camping!
Thanks for watching. I would definitely recommend the kind we have. They are Pelican kayaks that we bought at Costco. They are perfect for what we do. They are tough for banging around and stable in the water. They are durable toys for getting around small lakes and rivers.
Enjoyed your video. We have camped in provincial parks for forty plus years, always enjoying the spacious sites compared to private parks. A favorite of ours is MIKISEW, the sister to Restoule, provides a beautiful variation of campsites.
@@glenmckee6082 Thanks for your support. We love doing these videos. We went to Mikisew straight from Restoule this past season. We only spent two nights there but we went full out trying to do as much as we could in that short time. It's a park we'll definitely go back to. You can catch our video review of Mikisew here: ua-cam.com/video/0f2NTg4Dbrc/v-deo.html. Happy Camping!
Hey a great one to mention is kiosk camp ground as well marten river! The sites are nice and the kayaking is amazing! We are also huge camping fanatics and go to about 4 camp grounds each summer.
It's not exactly close but I'm a huge advocate of Driftwood Provincial Park for car camping, though you need to get a beachfront site (which is about half the park) for the full effect. It's a decent enough place for kayaking and canoeing, but to me the big appeal is it's a great swimmers park, with a reasonable sloped drop off to deep water.
We just started camping last year and went to Murphy's point and presquille. We love presquille for the beach. It's a nice flat park for biking with kids. I would say the trails are not good at all though.
I agree with you about Presqu'ile. The beach is great but the trails are not very exciting. It's just a walk in the woods. Have fun exploring in your camping journey.
we went to Awanda just outside Penetanguihene, great park with a large island one can explore. Question; I have mobility problems that requires a walker. Do you have any recommendations for hikes?
MacGregor Point is a nice park. It's fairly flat and has lots of trails. Many of the shorter trails are excellent for people with mobility issues as they are flat and incorporate lots of boardwalks over the rough or swampy areas. Happy Camping!
You guys are exactly what this newbie needs . I've been going to private parks . Now I'll try to figure out the booking routine of prov. parks .I can book places during the week . Thank You .
Thanks for the highlights of these beautiful provincial parks! Question... We have a 38 foot fifth wheel (most would consider it a big rig because of it’s height). Do you have any recommendations of provincial parks that can accommodate this size rig?
I've seen some big rigs at Pinery Provincial Park in the Campground A of Riverside Campground. That's the only park I've really noticed an area with a lot of big rigs in it. I haven't really been paying attention though as it was never a concern for me. Happy camping!
We've heard a lot of good stuff about Sammy D but we haven't been there yet. It's on or to-do list. Haven't been to halfway lake yet either. So many parks and so little time!
New to your channel, thanks for sharing your thoughts on the different parks. Hubby and I are just getting back to camping now that our kids are older. I'm hoping to get to Murphy's Point this summer. I hear it has some great hiking trails!
Thanks for commenting. We too are hoping to get to Murphy's Point this summer. We've heard lots of good things. Maybe we'll run into you. Happy Camping!
@@CampingwiththeColes. Martin River PP is a canoeists/kayakers paradise. If you're into fishing... you've got lots of water there. It's best to load up with supplies in North Bay before venturing into the Park. There are only 2 places for supplies...North Bay and Temagami....anything in between would be a truck stop for gas. There's a nice little rest stop along the way to Martin River PP that's good for kayaking/canoeing...Tilden Lake....it ain't much but the calm water is endless. Make sure ya take lots of insect repellent...the mosquitoes/black flies love people from Southern Ontario...lol. The Highway 11 North is like a rollercoaster...lots of high ups and downs.....
One of the best reviews I've seen, thank you. It's great that you guys share what's good in each park. We've been to parks with good waterfront but horrible hiking and the other way around. And having two kids with us we appreciate the info on what to prepare for at our next destination.
You should visit Brampton and try curry and samosa here , ask for rasgula, gulab jamun, jalebi, if you have not tried it, you are missing the food fun , of GTA,
I am brand new to your channel (this is the first video I've watched) so I'm not sure if you've already visited these parks or not. My top 2 parks are Silent Lake and Presqu'ile.
We made this video based on our first two seasons of camping. We've camped at 30 more parks since that video was made. We plan to put out a new top 5 list in two weeks. We've been to both Presq'ile and Silent lake and love them both. Please have a look at our channel and check out all the parks we've been to. We've also just made a website www.campingwiththecoles.com that shows all the videos we've done and it has an interactive park map. We haven't even announced this website yet as we're still working on it. Happy camping!
We've been to Killbear many times and love it. We've taken a break from it these past few years as it got busier and we wanted to explore more parks. We've only been interior camping at Killarney. Love the canoeing and hikes. Silver Peak is beautiful. We haven't been to the campground there yet. It's on our to-do list. Happy camping.
Grundy Lake is awesome. We've been there a couple of times. The lakes in the park are excellent for canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding and swimming. Small enough to never have big waves. They have cool jumping rocks. It's a nice park with an old fashioned family feel to it. Happy camping!
I am surprised you missed Killbear..it would be my first pick followed by Algonquin . The only drawback with Killbear is that it's so popular that it's almost impossible impossible to get into .
We love Killbear, but we weren't there in the past 2 years that these top 5 are based on. The park has gotten so busy that we decided to take a break from going there for a while. We'll be back at some point. We haven't done a review of it yet and we definitely want to.

That's pretty awesome that my All-time favorite park made ur top 5..👍👍
Our favorite park is Restoule PP.
Killbear is our favorite, we also love Grundy and Mikasew, Sandbanks and Pinery!
A new Ontario camper and your videos are so helpful and enjoyable. Well done, and keep them coming :). A new subscriber - big fan.
Awesome to hear! Thanks for subscribing. We hope you get out for some great camping this year!
That's great. Thanks for the tip. Happy camping!
Very great videos, super informative.,, good job guys, I greatly appreciated and it gave us the info we need it for our trip this summer!!!!
Glad it was helpful!
I live in huntsville and I must say that arrowhead is even more exciting in the winter! come check it out sometime
It sounds really cool. We want to try it when the world gets back to normal. Happy Camping!
Thank you very much for a great video!
I'm suggesting
- Killarney Provincial Park
- Killbear Provincial Park
Cheers
Two excellent choices.
I absolutely love that you enjoyed Restoule. I spent every summer there, growing up. It's my happy place.
I highly recommend you consider going back for your Thanksgiving camping trip. You cannot imagine how gorgeous the view is from the Bluffs when the Fall colours are in effect!
We wish we could have spent more time there. We'll go back some day.
Keep going!! We’re up to 26 parks and knocking more off the list one year at a time!!
Thanks for the support. We have plans on doing at least 9 parks this year that are new to us. Maybe we'll catch up to you. Happy Camping!
Great video team...thank you . Very pumped for this season of camping
I watch videos like this every winter to cry about how far away summer is. I LOVE CAMPING!!!!
We make videos like this for the same reason. We can't wait for the next camping season. Happy Camping!
The best couple , doing the best video chat .. like your understanding of each other
Thanks for the sharing as we are looking for Ontario parks as well
Thank you for these wonderful videos and reviews you post they are so helpful.
Wow! Thanks so much. We love making these videos and are glad that people enjoy watching them. Happy camping!
We're too used to the good life now to go back to roughing it.😁
@@Daniel-ie6tg we started out in the 80s and 90s back country camping by canoe.
Thank you for sharing. I'm so excited for my first time camping in Ontario this summer
Wow, first time! You're going to love everything Ontario Parks has to offer. Enjoy and happy camping!
I really like Silent Lake. I have been tent camping there twice. There is a long trail that goes around the lake. This sommer will be the first time with my new Prolite RV. Looking forward to it. You should put it on your list. Merçi.
Thanks for the tip. We hope to go to Silent Lake this August as part of a 3 park trip including Murphy's Point and Bon Echo. Happy Camping!
This was an awesome video, thank you! Love Arrowhead.
Thanks. It's a great park. Happy camping!
Depending on pandemic restrictions, they offer an opportunity to hear wolf howling!
I never knew these places, thanks so much!!! ME SO HAPPY!!!
Thanks very much for uploading a very good video, very informative really. We will be going to Algonquin this summer and will visit Arrowhead as well. So, thanks again!👍
You're going to love Algonquin and Arrowhead. It's a beautiful area with lots to do. Happy camping!
Great video. We would suggest Samuel de Champlain and Achray. Both are beautiful spots, highly recommend.
Thanks for your input. We haven't yet been to either of those. We'll put it on the to do list. Happy Camping!
SDC has a great visitor centre and guided canoe educational trip when covid is over.
Also, re. Achray, it’s wonderful but no hydro for a large trailer and the gravel road in was pretty treacherous the year we went. The canyon and the trail is magnificent and well worth the visit though. I hope to return with an SUV tent soon. I need to get to the chute at high falls!
I went to 4 camping sites that you recommended last year. Everything was really good. Thank you.
Great to hear! We hope you get some good ones this year too. Good Luck!
Been to McGregor. Going to Pinery and Restoule this year. Plus a couple others. Awenda is cool with multiple beaches and trails.
The Pinery is a huge park. We were there 2 years ago. We camped at the Burley Campgrounds. It's close to the dunes.
Wow, good to hear. I'm glad that even a fulltimer can get some benefit from our videos. Happy Camping!
Just came across your channel and love it thanks for sharing all of your experiences with us and all the best on your future adventures and will stay tuned to you next video 👍❤️🇨🇦
Thanks so much for the kind words and support. Happy Camping!
Algonquin is my fave! We try to go once each summer. I also have affection for Grundy Lake. It's steller. Multiple lakes, beautiful hikes. So many sites are feet from the water. New subscriber!
Thanks for your input and for subscribing. Happy Camping!
there are over 1500 lakes in the park unreal.
You live a rich life, Coles. Love your videos. so well done i feel am there on these parks myself
Glad you like them! We're having a ball making them. Happy camping!
If you ever make it out to Fitzroy, the fireflies are great there too. When I was there they were down near the trail to the boat launch.
Thanks for the tip. It will definitely come in handy this summer. Happy camping!
I really like Awenda Park near Pentanguishene
5 beaches including a dog beach....snorkelling around a shipwreck....lots of trails, a smaller inland lake for paddling if big lake is rough....big campsites...heavily treed....bring a good flashlight and have fun!
Nice, you moved up to God's country. You have some amazing parks within a close range. Happy Camping!
Thanks for your support. Happy Camping!
Love point farms and sauble falls! Going to Selkirk, craigleigh, bon echo, and arrowhead this summer
Sounds like a great summer. Happy camping!
I can't thank you enough! this is so helpful!
Our pleasure! Thanks for watching.
I really hope to return to Chutes Park, It was amazing
hey love the video! I might be a little bias because I work there but I think Finlayson point provincial park in Temagami would be a great addition to your list to visit. Its a small park but it has a lot of charm!
Thanks for sharing!! It's not on our list of parks for this summer but we'll likely put it on for 2023.
Great to know guys. I will be looking into booking some of those. I have been to the pinery and arrow head and was not disappointed mind you it was a few years ago and with a tent. lol does days are gone. That's what happens when you get older lmao
Glad we could help out. Happy Camping!
Really enjoyed this! Thank you! :). One note, I’ve never been ill watching a UA-cam video but got nauseous real quick and had to close my eyes at the spinning fire tower. 🥴🤢🙃
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Sorry about the spinning fire tower. I hope you're feeling better. Happy Camping!
Thanks for the great info! 👍I
You have an amazing channel, with a lot of helpfull information.
Please keep it up.
Thank you so much. I'm glad you like what we are doing. We plan to keep going and making it better. Happy camping!
Killarney was the most beautiful place for me and my best friends to go to, incredible views and amazing energy
We've been hearing that a lot. We've been there interior camping on canoe trips but we haven't seen the campground. We will definitely go some day. Thanks for commenting. Happy Camping!
You hit 3 of the top 5 that I visited last summer
We've seen your videos. Very nice photography and videography. Happy Camping.
Love Pinery for the beach and Algonquin for the nature and hiking and canoeing. So beautiful.
Thanks for the review!!! I'm sure its on your list, but you really need to go to Killarney PP. You won't be disappointed!! Our favorite by far. :)
Thanks Dave. We've been to Killarney, interior camping a few times but have never made it to the organized campground. We loved the Silver Peak hike. We had a couple of close encounters with bears while on interior sites. We hope to go back and check out the campground sometime soon. Happy camping!
Silent lake in the fall was very nice.
love your videos question for your top 5 you rate Pinery as no2 but in a past video you were not happy with the amount of ticks you encountered and also the Poison Ivy around your site....your thoughts please.
Algonquin Park is our go to as well. After 30 years ourselves we camped in almost all camping areas their
Awesome. We've only been to Pog Lake and Canisbay. What campground there is your favourite?
Have y'all been to Prince Edward County? They have a great P.P
On my bucket list is Sleeping Giant PP
just came back from Pancake Bay!
We were at Pancake Bay a few weeks ago. It was amazing! The video should be out in about 5 weeks. Four other park review videos to put out before it.
@@CampingwiththeColes look forward to it
We love Six Mile for a family with young kids.
Not MacGregor?!?! :) We went there this past summer on your recommendation and LOVED it!
We loved it too!
hey, great video. thanks for making it. Looking at getting a couple of kayaks too. would you recommend the ones you got?
Thanks for watching. I would definitely recommend the kind we have. They are Pelican kayaks that we bought at Costco. They are perfect for what we do. They are tough for banging around and stable in the water. They are durable toys for getting around small lakes and rivers.
Please share with us what you think are your top Ontario Provincial Parks. We want to check them out in upcoming seasons. Happy Camping
We always go to High Falls Bay Campground just north of Bracebridge. It awesome to camp on the beach across from a 40ft waterfall.
Thank You .
Glad we could be of service. Have fun exploring the provincial parks. Happy camping.
If you love fireflies, Murphy's Point is filled with them in July. My daughter was entranced with them when she was 10.
Thanks for the tip. We're going to Murphy's point in August. Probably a little late for the fireflies though. Happy camping!
Have you ever been to Samuel De Champlain. There is SO much to do at that park. It is our favorite. Halfway Lake is another good one.
We've heard a lot of good stuff about Sammy D but we haven't been there yet. It's on or to-do list. Haven't been to halfway lake yet either. So many parks and so little time!
Really good video. Thanks guys!
Thanks for the support. We love doing the videos. Happy Camping!
very professionally done and informative!
Thanks for the support. Happy Camping!
Try chutes provincial park amazing waterfalls to view !!!! And a little beach to relax.
Thanks for the tip. We'll have to add it to the list of places to go. Happy camping!
very helpful ..thankyou
New to your channel, thanks for sharing your thoughts on the different parks. Hubby and I are just getting back to camping now that our kids are older. I'm hoping to get to Murphy's Point this summer. I hear it has some great hiking trails!
Thanks for commenting. We too are hoping to get to Murphy's Point this summer. We've heard lots of good things. Maybe we'll run into you. Happy Camping!
Have you ever camped at the Marten River PP? It's just north of North Bay ON.
No, we haven't been there. A few people commented, suggesting we check it out. It sounds great. We'll have to get there someday soon.
Thanks for the support. I'm glad you find this helpful. Happy Camping!
We haven't been to any of your top 5 yet... we love Point Farms.
Our favorite two parks are in New York state.
We've done a few parks in New York State. We loved Watkins Glen, Robert H Tremaine and Lechtworth. What are the ones you love there?
@@CampingwiththeColes Allegheny state park, Fairhaven state park
@@CampingwiththeColes thank you so much for your reply, and I look forward to your new post and following your channel!! 😊
Go to Killarney Provincial Park and go up north to Temagami area and Kirkland lake area please!
Bon Echo is a fantastic Provincial Park. Beautiful and historical. You would like it. Sawmill Bay have nicest sites.
Thanks for the tip. We have plans to go there in August if we can get a site.
Try rock lake in algonquin
Killarney is nice. With the rock cliffs
And crystal clear water...
Come up north, Ivanhoe and wakami are nice gems
@@chantalbenson9406 we hope to some day
What do you guys think of Killarney and Kill Bear ?
We've been to Killbear many times and love it. We've taken a break from it these past few years as it got busier and we wanted to explore more parks. We've only been interior camping at Killarney. Love the canoeing and hikes. Silver Peak is beautiful. We haven't been to the campground there yet. It's on our to-do list. Happy camping.
The kawartha provincial park is nice. Although you would need to tent in.
what are your guy's opinion on grundy lake? I'm going there with 6 friends this summer were super excited
You guys should check out Bonnechere Provincial Park. It's really nice.
I've heard great things about it. We hope to get there some time. Thanks for the suggestion.
