This was television at its best. You had to have reasonable intelligence to get the jokes as they came quick and fast and there was no canned laughter to help you along. Some people like to be spoon fed comedy and that’s it. However, this struck the perfect note between delicious comedy and heart-rending drama. I’d like to see this group again, perhaps in a funeral directors!!

That female surgeon bugged me in every single scene she was in. I know she was supposed to, but it actually reduced my enjoyment of the show from 1 zillion to 99.9 bajillion.

Because Dr Miller legitimately had to struggle to get to where she was while Elliot was able to get by on her looks and her family money. Dr Miller was the one who faced a lot of legitimate backlash in her field and had to claw her way into power and become rather cruel just to get respect, while Elliot got to her position fairly easily because she went into medical rather than surgical and had a ton of money and privilege behind her.
I know. Dr. Cox is at least funny and clever when he's going on his long-winded rants and deep down he thinks JD has the potential to be a great doctor and is only tough on him to try to make him better. Dr. Miller was a cold and unempathetic bitch who provided no real mentorship to her trainees.
It does kinda feel like the writers decided to introduce another strong female character into the show but they messed up and made her smug and rude instead. As an example Jordan works as a standoffish heel because we're supposed to dislike her initially but we end up respecting and liking her while Dr Miller doesn't work because judging by how all the other characters react to her we're supposed to be just as infatuated with her as they are because she's hot and confident. Problem is the show is already full of hot, confident women who don't constantly insult people to their faces while pulling the human race's most self satisfied expression possible. If this scene happened in real life after she left they wouldn't be saying 'wow how cool was she? I really like what a strong, confidant woman she was' they'd be saying 'wow what a raging asshole, she could have just said "no" to Todd but instead she did some collage level psych evaluation insult bullshit? I hope we don't see a lot of her!'
in the show they reveal that the todd is actually a very good surgeon.
