Great compilation, I would have included Funerailles and Legend no 2, and not to mention any of the trascendental etudes but if we made a video of ALL of Liszt greatest moments it would last forever
its funny you mention both funerailes and legend no 2 cuz i literally learned those as a pair this semester for my upcoming jr recital HAHAHA, i love them both so much and they def deserve to be on this list hahahahah
dangg dude I wasn't expecting anyone to even welcome me back that hit hard. I took a break to focus on school and continue with my piano. I plan on uploading myself playing pieces too so I am excited for the future of the channel. You're my favourite sub haha
Nice compilation. I would add some of my personal favorite: (1) end of the Trio in the Lucrezia Borgia fantasy, (2) middle part of Les Jeux d’eaux à la Villa d’Este, (3) climax of Waldesrauchen, (4) early part of the second Legende, (5) climax of Au bord d’un source
haha thank you so much. Although not a perfect performance, I tried to put as much emotion and heart into it. I learned it and played it for my girlfriend :)
I would sincerely recommend Grosses Konzertsolo. It's surprising that this piece has fallen into (somewhat) obscurity, possibly overshadowed by Concerto pathétique. The organisation of the material might seem superficial (typical for Liszt tho) it is indeed a tour de force of romantic piano virtuosity. Other interesting pieces include the Fantasia and Fugue on BACH and his Fantasy on Ruinen von Athen, though not my personal favourites
Surely you could have found a better recording of the Liebestraum to put here. That was a jarring change in quality of the music that had been playing up to that point. Kinda took me out of the moment.
Yea I hear that a lot of people dislike Liszt but I am glad you could find some pieces you enjoyed. Who is your favourite composer? I can make a video on him/her.

@@jandrosibilia5242 It felt wrong not putting some pieces in here but the video would be to long LOL. I’m glad you enjoyed

@@usurpationofmusic4596 You must be an amazing pianist!
Going from high fidelity recordings played on grand pianos by professional musicians to your recording of liebestraum gave me whiplash
@@jacenarsenault8223 sorry bro 😭 I just wanted to get something of mine in there. I’ll remove it next time sorry
HAHAHAHA IT WOULDVE BEEN FINE IF NOT FOR THE DEEPFRIED AUDIO
@@nandovancreij haha the audio is a little cooked LOL thanks for watching !
@@synthesialearneryeah, the playing is great though.
I thought it was really sweet.
Liszt goated

Really enjoyed that compilation! Just fabulous.
Part 2 is needed for sure.
That moment at 06:02 🤩🤩
@@HmmmPiano Something special about that part…
amazing video mate! would love a part 2!! and great playing on liebestraum ;)
@@aymmeric_dpy Thanks man I just wished the audio quality was better for my performance 😭😭
amazing, I love Liszt!
Wonderful playing of Liebestraum 3!
Thank you so much!
Missed a few 🤣... I mean, we're talking about Liszt here. All great selections, of course! (Also, welcome back)

All great suggestions! Liszt would honestly need a part 2.
Lazar Berman playing the very end of the Dante Sonata.
@@ManjulaBrahmachari lazar berman is awesome at playing Liszt
@@synthesialearner And for the Dante Sonata in particular - the best there ever was. There are 3 recordings, each one of them are Godly.
Liszt is an absolutely wonderful composer! This is the truth... So why not appreciate his beautiful works at their value...
video alone...'s worth the trip
never mind the audio
thank you
amazing compilation dude :)
Thank you so much
Someone get this guy a proper recording setup cause that liebestraum was actually good
haha thank you so much. Although not a perfect performance, I tried to put as much emotion and heart into it. I learned it and played it for my girlfriend :)
Thanks for this great video❤
No, thank YOU for watching :)
I want to know the piano Laplante used in his recordings of Mephisto Waltz and Petrarca 104.
@@pascal8534 it’s such a good recording by him. It made me a fan of his for sure
Me getting edged for the entire 23 minute of it
@@snorefest1621 Guess you better get listening to the full pieces 😂 Tjanks for watching

While I have listened and enjoyed 2 of 3 the three I have yet to listen to the Fantay on Ruinen von Athen. Ill check it out!
I really liked this video :) tysm for doing it
Laplante very underrated pianist. His Mephisto Waltz is better than every other recording I’ve heard of the piece
True underrated but Traum and Kissin's are better to me
@@Ha7yde Kissins is decent, but Traum is nowhere near
Laplante playing Liszt is one of my favourite recordings ever.
agree
I like the first song
メフィストワルツは誰が演奏していますか?アシュケナージ?マツーエフ?
I like Fanz Lizst he'd wild

That sounds like Cziffra.
Man not seeing Liszt-Beethoven symphony 3 and 9 made me a bit sad lmao.
Surely you could have found a better recording of the Liebestraum to put here. That was a jarring change in quality of the music that had been playing up to that point. Kinda took me out of the moment.
sorry man i just wanted to add some of myself in there. Will not do next time
What I wouldn't give to have a fraction of the seemingly natural musical talent and acumen of Franz Liszt....
who's the player of Benediction? it's amazing
Stephen Hough!
Reminescenses of Thalberg 😂
I don't like liszt because his textures are a bit too jagged for my taste, but that dante sonata and ballade 2 is heavenly
Yea I hear that a lot of people dislike Liszt but I am glad you could find some pieces you enjoyed. Who is your favourite composer? I can make a video on him/her.
Liszt takes some getting used to. At least if you listen to nothing but Chopin
You are braindead
