I liked your comment about Leaky!!!
Thanks Sheila... It was funnier in my head! Lol!
Right on about supporting local bidness! Better food, coffee too.
Gotta support!
Mamacitas was too cool. What an amazing looking place. You guys are really spending a lot of time finding all the great places in Texas. Thank you.
Thanks Uncle Jake! We spent two months in Texas waiting for Mardi Gras so we found a LOT of stuff! Safe travels!
The smudge is still there Paul....Its not obvious but its there...cheers
Unfortunately if I don't catch it when I'm shooting, there is nothing I can do in post...it drives me crazy! Lol!
Nomadic Fanatic is also in SAN ANTONIO. ..CASTROVILLE....YOU GUYS OUGHT TO HOOK UP❗YOUR CHANNELS ARE BOTH GREAT! THANKS FOR SHARING ✌ 💖 🎼 🎶 🎵
good job, thanks.
Nomadic is too big a UA-camr for little old us! :) With all you guys sharing and commenting, we'll catch him someday! Thanks Peace Dove!
Well, surely you noticed that The Hill Country is also "MOTORCYCLE HEAVEN". We've covered this area extensively by motorcycle from '01 through '12. Here, it's all good .....
Oh absolutely Wilson! I'm a motorcycle guy, so believe me I noticed! Luckenbach, TX had a bunch of bikes in there a couple of days ago! Video soon!
Another great video, Thanks so much for sharing.
Thanks Tim!
I never knew drive thru convenience stores existed. Thanks for enlightening me. Another awesome video!
I have seen them before, but never used one. They are everywhere here! More convenient than a regular convenience store! Lol!
be sure and go to lukinbach
Went through there yesterday Dale! Video to follow...of course! :)
We just love your videos! You show the coolest places that make us want to get in our rv and check it out. You guys are great! And you're funny- not enough of that in today's world. Thanks so much!
Thanks Pam! We love that you love our videos and they make you want to jump in the RV! I agree that there is not enough funny in the world today...everyone is so bloody uptight! Safe travels! Paul
Super cool towns!! By the way Liz and I attended the Tampa Super RV Show Thursday and Friday. Looked at the Dynamax HD and decided that's what we're getting, probably 2013 or newer since depreciation is such a big factor. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and be good to each other.
Hi Eddie! The Dynamax are badass! These things are the worst depreciation assets you can buy! Safe travels! Paul
Wife and I spent one 'winter' workcamping at an RV Park in Bandera......one our most memorable experiences ever!!!!...TruckcamperJim (when we used to have a motorhome)
Very cool Jim! Yeah, Bandera was pretty cool! Safe travels! Paul
We've discovered many small towns on our camping trips where the local residents are very friendly! Sure makes us want to leave the big city for good!
Big city has the conveniences and the smaller towns have the charm....hmmm, if only we could combine the two...San Antonio comes close!
Just love your videos. You show so many cool places to visit. Thank you for sharing.
Glad to have you here Lori!
The Beverage Barn looks cool! Need one here in St. Catharines!
It was...convenient! Lol! Are you in St Catherines, Ontario? Love that town!
So wonderful you got to go see part of the hill country of Texas... it is beautiful ! Thank goodness we've had moisture this year. Keep the cameras a rolling because you got more to see and experience of our great state. You're now Texans after eating those pecans you know! LOL RP
The people, the food, the sight and sounds of Texas have all been amazing. If I start to have a Texas drawl, then I'll know we've spent too much time here! Take care!
Great video. Love to see the rural areas in Texas. Looks like an awesome places to visit. Thanks for sharing.
Hello Cindy and Darryl! Thanks for hanging out with us! Safe travels! Paul
I'm with Lorena -- I'm all about the baked goods. Haha.
If I knew that all it was going to take was baked goods!? Our first date would have been Krispy Kreme!! Lol! Too funny Jody!
Thanks for another awesome video....
Hi Bobby! Glad you enjoyed it!
great video! loved it...been wanting to explore Texas and even more so now
So much to see in Texas Christine! More to come!
wow, thanks for sharing. what a great place to explore. its on my list now
Hello Heidi! Your list is growing! What until you see what's coming!!!
Enjoyed the video. Live in Houston and hunt in the Hill Country, just outside of Fredericksburg, TX. Absolutely gorgeous part of the great State of Texas.
Very cool Tim! I totally agree..absolutely gorgeous! We are in your hometown at the moment..actually just north in Willis. Safe travels!
I liked the shots of the gates! You include so many fun nuggets in the videos.
I could have had hundreds of shots of gates by now! I think it's a status thing in Texas! Some are amazing!
Loved your video, but you never said how the food was where you ate
The food was just ok, Ben. We tried another place called "Rosarios" in San Antonio and it rocked!
Dude, someone gave you the shitty advice of hooking up with Nomadic Fanatic. You guys have class. Nomadic is a begging ass. I watched some of his videos and just about every one he produces, he's claiming issues with his RV. What's really sad, he gets fools to send him money.....SMFH!!!! In my opinion you folks and two others are the ONLY ones worth watching. You guys keep it real and obviously are mentally and financially stable to live your experiment. I should mention, I took your advice on hauling my Harley's. The whole lift thing was looked into and the engineers at the link you shared with me said that it can't be done without major liability. So basically I bought a bigger trailer so we'll be able to tow wife's 4Runner and squeeze the bikes on....thanks brother.
Nomadic seems to be a love em or hate em, kind of guy. We've talked a lot about how to monetize the channel (wasn't our intent at first) and I really have a hard time with the way it is done by some of the vloggers. It is a TON of work, but I think it cal still be done without going the begging route. We try hard to be the same whether the camera is rolling or not....ok, I don't swear near as much on camera, Lol!
Can't wait to see your rig when you are up and rolling! Safe travels! Paul
Like you would say Paul "How cool......." of your and Lorena's adventures. BTW - I looked right through the smudge on the camera, we've all been there. Fair Winds and Safe Journeys as well as Good Stuff!
Thanks Tim, you're always too kind! That stuff just makes me nuts because I don't notice until it's too late and there's nothing you can do during editing to fix it. Take care sir!
I always enjoy your videos. Much better quality than most of the other channels I subscribe to. If your travels ever bring you towards Asheville NC, I'd love to buy you guys a beer.
Thanks for the compliment! We'll be rolling through that area in the late spring, early summer so please remind me when you think we're in that area. Facebook will usually have more current info as to our whereabouts! Safe travels! Paul
So there is at least 3 Cowboy Capital of the World (just for ease writting this "CCOW") towns in Texas...Bandera can be looked at as the ranch CCOW, Stephenville (Erath County) has been the competition/rodeo CCOW for decades, and now Weatherford is starting to become the competition/rodeo Mecca. In reality Stephenville and Weatherford are close enough together (45 miles) just count them as one area, and this one area usually accounts for 25%-50% of the competitors at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas each year.
Very cool Matt! Thanks for sharing! Awesome!
Coffee is good anytime. How awesome were those little towns. And yes I did laugh at your jokes. safe travels to you both
We like our coffee! The towns are so fun! The best thing about my bad jokes...They're FREE! Safe travels!
👍 I love love love old small towns. I love the old buildings that have been repurposed. I haven't seen one of those drive thru convenience stores in a long time. Nice editing & music. Thanks for sharing. I know it's a lot of work. Wishing you guys the best. 🤗💞🤗
The old towns have certain charm that is hard to describe. Thanks for commenting, as always!
That'd be TEXAS. One ALWAYS says and writes that word in all capitals. TEXAS.
Lol! Got it!
So enjoyed your video. You are in my neck of woods as they say. You need to visit in the spring when the blue bonnets, our state flower, the Indian Paint Brush and all sorts of flowers are blooming. The country side is beautiful
I meant sight sorry.
Well Hi Mary! Everyone is telling us we need to come back in the spring! We won't get to see them this time! The countryside is beautiful!
The hill country is great area. Travel the area between Fredericksburg and Austin and you won't be disappointed. You should watch the movie filmed in Utopia.
We are between Fredericksburg and Austin, in Blanco. The area is very cool and we'll have video soon...of course! A movie from Utopia!? I'll have to look for it.
Great tour!! I love Bandera too, a few families from Del Rio have retired in Bandera - I see why!! Leakey, locals pronounce it as Lakey... Love your video's - Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks Kenneth! How do they get "Lakey" out of that!? Lol!
The Motorhome Experiment I know right.. but they will correct you. LOL. Thanks again.
The Motorhome Experiment As so many towns in that region, it's a family name..
Check out Boerne (Bernie), and Gruene (Green).
Not far from Fredericksburg.
Started watching after a friends suggestion.. on y'alls Big Bend adventure. I'm a landowner at Terlingua Ranch, north of Study Butte (Stewdee Beaut).
I know.. Texans. :-D
In Bandera....was Antonio there🙅
Peace Dove LOL, I was thinking the same thing when I saw the name, but Antonio's last name has an "s" at the end.
Pretty funny!
Its nice to learn something everyday.. "did you know".. Texas was the area for..wait for it... The U.S. Army’s “Camel Corps” Experiment.. before there was a motorhome experiment..:) Another fantastic video..thanks for sharing.. bad jokes, smudges and all.. safe travels
I knew it! Hahaha...too many camels here! :) Thanks for sharing and commenting! Safe travels! Paul
So glad y'all are enjoying your stay in Texas. While you're in the San Antonio area, go down to Market Square & visit Mi Tierra's (www.mitierracafe.com)... great baked goods & food. Also, San Antonio Missions National Historical Park is a really cool collection of 4 18th century Spanish missions (rvtexasyall.com/blog-texas-historical-sites/san-antonio-missions-national-historical-park.html). These missions along with the Alamo are a World Heritage Site. Let us know when you're coming through the Houston area. We'd love to take y'all to dinner. -Stacie & Tom
Hello Stacie and Tom! We saw Market Square and were told about Mi Tierra's, but didn't make it. We biked 3 of the missions and walked The Alamo! We'll be rolling through Houston closer to the end of the month. Shoot us a message over on Facebook. The information on there is usually more accurate as to where we are...Safe travels! Paul
so how was the coffee in Banderas? you two are one of my favorite youtubers and couples!! light jam packed with information!!
The coffee was very good Karla! Thank you so much!! We're not the biggest, but we try harder! :)
Great video! Love the hill country! did u get to see Garner SP and the Frio River? Absolutely crysyal clear, bottle-green water.....like something out of a fairytale!
Kris, we drove right past Garner SP! Have to leave some for next time, but we Google it and it looks amazing! Thanks for the tip!
Thank You guys for another one of your awesome videos . Thanks for taking me along .The ranches you saw along the way were fabulous . They all are I'm sure worth a fortune . Paul get your sh-- kickers w/spurs & your cowboy hat & clothes ready if you want to move there as I'm sure that is how they dress in that area . The restaurant you ate at in Kerrville , TX looked beautiful . How was the food there ? It reminded me of this big restaurant that I went to decades ago in Tulsa , Oklahoma while I was stationed @ McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita , Kansas . It had a bunch of different themed rooms in it . It was beautiful .Have you gone to the river walk yet in San Antonio? There is a revolving roof top restaurant in San Antonio at the site where one of the World Fairs was held there along time ago . While I was in Air Force Basic Training @ Lackland Air Force base a couple of guys in my squadron & I had lunch there while we were on town pass. Food was good nd the view from the top while thev restaurant revolved was beautiful . Sure felt good to get away from the base for a while after not having seen the outside world for quite while . Enjoy the rest of your time in Texas . Happy travels .
Thanks Bob! The restaurant was OK at best. We'll have video from the San Antonio River Walk in the next day or so. I'm waaaay behind! Thanks for sharing all the info!
we had a cook your own in PA 20 bucks
Cool...never saw one of those before!
Got to get to Gruene TX about 30 min. outside of San Antonio if you haven't left the area yet.
Hi Brian, we are going to try and hit Gruene this Sunday when the dancehall is rocking! We are up in the Blanco State Park right now and heading towards Austin tomorrow.
Good plan. The hall has free music on Sunday after the Gospel Brunch which is probably sold out. Music starts at 12:30 and it should be Bret Graham and he's good entertainment. Lots of shops. My favorite is the antique store on the corner across the street from the general store. Lots of good stuff for men.
Bandera is cool. When you moving there? Another excellent video. Keep on keepin on. Stay safe.
Bandera is cool, but might be a we bit sleepy for us! We went out to see live music at a bar and we were closing the place down at 10pm! Lol!
Yeah, that'd be us. We are always the last to leave and the first to grab a drink or three.
Yeah, Texas is one of the crazy states allowing double towing. I'd love to see a 40 ft motorhome pulling a toad which tows a trailer.... that would be super crazy to look at (and even more crazy to drive)
@Lorena: not sure I'd share my wine - I'm kinda possessive of that one (or better: I only share if there's a second or third bottle around...), but you can have all the baked things since I rarely eat sweets or baked things. I do however bake for other people on occasion ... how odd is that :-) (PS: in our household the kitchen and the workshop are mine. No messing with my knives or my tools!)
I don't know if I'd want to meet one of those on these narrow back roads! Lorena barely lets me boil the water for coffee! Lol!
Thanks for sharing, I had forgotten just interesting Texas is.. BTW, My diet consist of 85% veggies but if a 10 pointers came across my path, He might have been my guest at that cook your own steak place.. LOL.. A lot of deer roaming.. Enjoy your vids.. Thanks
Lorena is telling everyone that when someone can tell her where the BEST BBQ in Texas is, she'll break her vegetarian ways for it! We're being told that place is Lockhart, TX...we'll see! I miss me some BBQ brisket, but after 2 1/2 years of a vegetarian diet I'm afraid I'll exhale chunky bits! Lol! Safe travels! Paul
Did you say hi to my relos {relatives} the Camels they are from the middle east too. lol.
I asked if they had heard of you...they said you were trouble! Lol!
I saw below in the comments the food was just OK. Figured that as they put all their ambitions into design not culinary flare. All the empty seats was a good indicator.
If you're talking about the Mexican food place, I would agree that the food was just okay, in our opinion. It was packed when we got there though!
Wow! This must have been a day of sensory overload because it seemed that way on video. So many cool places. Was the dinner as good as the grandeur of the building suggested?
Hahaha, it was sensory overload...San Antonio is sensory overload...the food, the history...holy smokes! The dinner was NOT as good as the building suggested. We found a place a few days later called "Rosarios." Basic place, kind of cold...but Lorena says the food is the most authentic she's had since moving to the US 10 years ago!
Hey you didn't mention the food at Mamacitas (did I get that right)... was it any good? We are vegetarians and love US style Mexican food, we were salivating. Loved the tour.
The food was OK, at best. Some was great, some was blah. We ate at a place in San Antonio called "Rosarios" and it was the best Mexican food Lorena has had since moving here 10 years ago!
Hi. I don't know if I would show up on a Friday or Saturday night at a Salon in Texas with assperagus in my hands to grill? They might let you grill some stuff? Maybe? but getting out alive would be the real challenge? besides assperagus would just fall through the grill anyways. Take care. Hawk out!!
ROFLMAO! I think you're right! You're a funny son-of-a-b#$%@ Hanks! Safe travels! Paul P.S. Got something coming in a video for you in a couple of days. Look for the video on Hamilton Pool, Pederales Falls, Jacobs Well.
Hi. Well, I will be dipped in buttermilk and sopped up with a biscuit!! I'm looking forward to it. Take care. Hawk out!!
Restaurant looked amazing how was the food? I have to admit there is no place like mexican food like Chicago Illinois.
The food was ok. We ate at a place in San Antonio called "Rosarios" and it was the bomb! Lorena said the best she's had since moving to the US 10 years ago! Chicago has pizza though!
How was the food?
The food at Mamacitas was decent. There are so many great Mexican restaurants in the San Antonio area it's incredible! :)
I was looking forward to hearing Loreanas review of that last Mexican restaurant..(mamacitas) .was it not that good?
She says, for her, it was just okay. She is not a fan of Tex-Mex. She is extremely picky with her Mexican food because of her heritage. I thought it was decent.
Love the videos, but, dude, the hair style is driving me nuts. you aren't sixteen or twenty or thirty or... . Cute wife. ask her. she might be honest with you about it. You have a great personality that sells your channel concept. Hair style just doesn't video well.
I don't cut my hair the way I do to try and be a twenty something, nor do I cut it to please anyone but myself and my wife. Should I shave it? Grow a beard? Would you prefer I look like a 50 year old accountant!? If you don't want to watch because of the way I cut my hair, that's up to you. I judge my friends and people based on their actions, not the way they look. Too funny dude! Lol!
