Saw this when you posted it.... little did I know that our trip to TX would have to be changed a bit. Because of your kind words (and exploring ) about Fredericksburg we decided to head down there for3 days.!. We got tickets for the TIGHTLY controlled Nimitz Museum today and it was awesome! Really enjoyed the city and all. Heading out in the morning. Blessings to you both!
Yep the pain is worse than childbirth and much much longer lasting. Sorry Phil!!! We have a coded door lock on our Class A 43 ft bus. Really nice that you answer the questions and nice way to do it.
Keep ice on it all the time for the first 3 weeks. I rented an ice machine that rotates ice-cold fluid around the area. With it, I used very little meds. Retired military myself, the small hurts just don't go away. Years of abuse to our bodies. Hope you are feeling better soon.
We went to Texas last year for Christmas(2019). On our way to the the dark sky park, Painted Rock State Park and drove trough Frederickburg twice at night. All the lights in the park downtown was amazing!
Glad to hear Phil is doing well. Kenny has had 2 shoulder surgeries so he knew what you were facing. But it will get better and keep taking those meds! Prayers for you both. Kenny and Candy
Our first "official" RV trip was last year~ We were testing the waters. We ended up in Fredericksburg, fell in love instantly! Now that we have our "real" motorhome we are planning another trip to stay for a week or so. We were stationed in Germany when my husband was active duty Army and loved everything about the little German town~ The food, the beer, YUM!!! Felt like were were back in Bavaria!
We stay at Peach Country Rv Park in Stonewall. No pool so no kids. A very nice and clean park. Highly recommend it. Short drive to Fredericksburg and Lukenbach
We did the San Antonio area for three weeks in Jan/Feb this year, Bandera actually! Loved it and also really loved Fredericksburg area. Definitely a must do!
Love your videos! USAF veteran from Memphis and live in San Antonio. We have been to Fredericksburg many times but now we want to go with our new small RV and explore all the places you mentioned on you video. Thanks!
Love the bird songs at the end. We got locked outside our Tiffin Red 37pa. We were hooking up the Jeep, coach engine running and somehow when I closed the door to attend to the Jeep the door locked. Luckily I aways forget to lock the drivers sliding window. Got our folding step ladder out from the basement, luckily I had those keys on me, slid the window open and reached in and was able to get to the ignition switch to retrieve the key. The padlock key storage is a great idea.
Thank you for your wonderful insight on things. "Luckenbach Texas, me and Willie and the boys..." I also appreciate that you don't respond to bulls**t comments.
We have a frequent visitor card for Fredericksburg. Like you said, there's so much to see and do. When we were still working it was our go-to weekend get away. If you come to this part of Texas it's a must see. There are several great campgrounds in addition to the state parks and Harvest Host opportunities. Glad to see Phil is semi-coherent!! Rest easy and go with the flow Phil. So right hand dominate he has a hard time giving a thumbs up!!
Fredericksburg is our favorite place to visit. I love Rustlin’ Rob’s. It’s my favorite store. Of course, every trip there I have to visit the museum of War in the Pacific.
When Hubs & I we’re in San Antonio (he worked I played) I went to Bandera...to a wood shop & their antiques mall. Want to drive to Texas next time...didn’t get to Lukenbach as we weren’t there for the weekend. Phil, if you are sleeping then you don’t notice the pain! Let the drugs do their thing & sleep so your body can heal. At least you have great weather and can sleep outdoors!
Because of you guys I pursued and got my VHIC card recently. Look forward to the benefits. Also purchased the RV travel and getaway book. Also this coming June 1 I am going to Gunter Hill for a week. And be allowed to explore Maxwell AFB. I am in South Carolina ,travel solo and have a 180 Rpod. You guys do a great job.
Glad to see you guys out and about! We can’t wait to get around and out on the road to all the places you have shown and visited!! Yeah, that Magnolia Pearl Clothing and more-store was very different , it is what looks like amish craftsman decor with an old world feel, , interesting I’m sure , but not everyone’s popular taste..The Texas, Fredericksburg town does looks quaint , but really cool!
You, Me & the RV Oh I see, wasn’t sure, but had gotten a notification of that video from the RVillage and watched it! Didn’t get to fully take notice of the date! I figured you were still in Texas though as I recall on your other video about staying put while Phil’s surgery is 🤕healing. Well glad all is good , as you both are hanging about! 😁
I miss going to Fredericksburg. We live about an hour away but with the corona virus we’ve not been able to visit. We love the shops, the Pacific War museum, the wineries and peach orchards. We’ve been amazed at the increase in wineries and decrease in orchards in the twenty years we’ve lived here. Love to get peach ice cream during the summer and fall at one of the orchard shops. Glad Phil is on the mend. 👍
Also funny you mentioned getting locked out of RV. I did that in March when I yon the way to Nebraska. Was at a rest stop in Kansas, did a video on it, wasn't fun, now have a hide a key.
I had to think if we ever locked ourselves out of a RV. I vaguely remember lifting a kid up to climb into a window to unlock the door many years ago. We now have keypad locks but I had spare RV keys in my vehicle for years. We had a seasonal site for 10+ years and you'd be surprised how many people kept a spare key at the park office. The park owner had a board with them hung in his office.

Good to see the mention of the Pacific War Museum in Fredricksburg - hard to believe you kept a Navy man out of the museum! I'm an Army guy and really enjoyed the museum. This video reminds us we need to get back down to Hill Country.
BTW, I turn off my propane and recommend to my customers to do the same. If you don't have a 3 way fridge and you stay out of it while traveling, it will stay cold. 4 to 6 hours depending on the installation.
From what I seen it looks like stuff from the 1900's.some of the furniture. my Great Grandmother had in her house. As for the muslin long gowns they were used as night gowns or dresses. and the short ones shirts. I have my Grandfather's shirt as a little boy. That's what I think it is. reminds me of what I seen as a child. I might be wrong.
One of the first things we bought for the RV was a Gas Stop because we saw the video at FL Lazydays that Phil did for them. Haven't had the chance to use it yet but we will. Appreciate the info on Texas. We will be there for 6 months this winter volunteering. Love info as it pertains to what is happening with COVID and you're location Every state, city, etc. is different and with each person adding their own experience it creates a patchwork. DO you notice people wearing masks, social distancing, are items readily available at the grocery store, items you need for the RV, etc. We've had some issues with getting the things we need to outfit our RV to go full time in September. Glad we started early.
Things are just starting to open up here with restaurants at 25% capacity. Most people are wearing masks but it is no longer mandatory in this state/city only recommended. Meats are hard to come by but everything else seems to be available.
My dad and I went there last year on a guy trip. Great place! The WWII of the Pacific Museum is incredible. I definitely wan tot go back with my wife and spend more time there!
Phil, I do hope you are feeling better soon brother, and without pain. I have a back injury sustained during my military service and I have pain all the time, and it worsens as I age, so I know how it drags you down. Get well soon. Thanks Stacy for the update and another great video. Take care and I hope to see you this summer, out on the road. Safe Travels and Happy Trails!
Cool video I love Fredericksburg Texas and all the surrounding towns it is really beautiful during the holidays like Christmas time and if you are also looking for good BBQ look up salt lick barbecue it is right down the street from Fredericksburg👍👍
We visited Fredericksburg last weekend. It’s always a fun trip. Sorry we missed y’all. We visited Lost Maples and South Llano River state parks also. 😊
Spent many weekends in Fredericksburg when I was stationed in San Angelo (to the west) many years ago. Oktoberfest was always great fun there. Now that we are older, we always seem to be rolling through on days when they close everything early. I think I might get one more chance at it before the wife bans me from there forever. She's still angry about not getting her German food the last time we went. :)
My daughter and I traveled to Fredricksburg and loved it. We also drove out to the Magnolia Pearl. We thought WOW what a neat building and WOW what ridiculous prices for "hobo chic" clothes!! We found out after talking with an employee that the building is not old but a new build. That took the charm away for me! Question - could we see the inside of the casita? Just wondering what that looks like. Wishing Phil a continued positive recovery!!
Wishing you a fast recovery. I have felt your pain. Had a bunionectomy last July. Had never experienced such pain! Get off those heavy duty (and addictive) pain meds as fast as you can. We like Lady Bird Johnson Regional Park in Fredericksburg, but watch out for the stickers in the grass! Nice place to bike ride too and to watch small planes take off and land at the nearby airport. We live in North Central TX in Hillsboro area, so we are familiar with your TX travels.
Glad to see Phil up and about. If things improve (hoping they will but i have some reservations) we will be leaving Kerrville on July 1 and heading to Fredricksburg July 1. We are also getting a drop hitch (swagman) to carry the bikes on the back of the Jeep. Keep up the great videos and stay safe.
Ok, now you two are “stalking us”. We love Fredericksburg. You went to our usual haunts. We are members of Grape Creek Vineyards wine club. Happy to see you both are well.
Magnolia Pearl, reminds me of venues I have seen or visited in upstate New York and PA. I am surprised you did not see a few in Gettysburg, PA. They are usually well planned and laid out almost like a mini museum / ar gallery. Everything is for sale (big bucks). They imply the items are chic decor for the "rustic set" (whatever that means). I witnessed a woman purchase a small (3 ft tall) chest of drawers that looked like it rolled down the side of the Grand Canyon for $1050.00. She said it was perfect for the foyer in her B&B. I may be wrong but that was the impression I got from the video. Usually they have at least one person hovering around to answer questions and arrange for shipping (LOL).
after my broken ankle the narcotics like demerol or morphine or codeine made my feel so sick and dizzy so i had them give me a prescription for darvocet or just go to over the counter pain meds-honestly the narcotics didn't get rid of the pain any better-you just have to wait it out-it will get better then worse again when you start physical therapy-hang in there
We love the area! Luckenbach always adds days to our trips because we have plans to go to sight then wake up and say “Why don’t we go back to Luckenbach today?”
Uf Da... Hey fellow travelers, We are staying nearby at the Peach Country RV If you're still in the area we will be here till Monday morning then parts East. Solitude 390 RK Great shots Travel Safe... OLT
@@richardestenson7799 Thank you for the correct spelling:-) No Sir I'm not, but when I first became a firefighter/Paramedic I dated a lovely sweet nurse who was of German heritage. Ufff Da! was a term she used a lot, and I still catch myself using it. Thank You OLT
Love the area... Right on the edge of the hill country. We stayed in an Airbnb in Bandera... Highly recommend the El Jacalito! We will be going back this winter. And☝... Maybe swing by Fredericksburg😁
Growing up in SA, we went to Enchanted Rock every year as a field trip. I remember it very fondly. :) Oh... and Fredricksburg has always been Longhorn country!! Well, at least in my day.
@@todayissomeday Yep! I'm a Longhorn but have many Aggie family members. It used to be very 'segregated' based on college football teams. LOL I'm hella-old.
Just caught this vid and wanted to extend an invitation for you to stay with us again. While no longer connected to any of the free stay sites, you are absolutely welcome to stay if you're somewhere near Massillon, Ohio
Prayers for Phil! You can tell he has zero tolerance for pain meds which is a good thing! That way they work well when he does need them and there is no reason to be in pain Phil so use them to get you over the hump. Way to take care of things Stacy! I’ve been driving our new rig that we picked up two days ago...finally! And Lloyd has been enjoying the passenger seat 😊 We did our first nights camping Thursday and Friday which was our 33rd anniversary so now we will finish our journey back to Missouri from Michigan where we bought “George”! Hope to see you soon...on the road 😂😂😂
You, Me & the RV I’ve always been the driver Stacy. Lloyd drove semi’s down the highway of death in Sicily while in the Navy so if he never drives another big rig he’ll be happy and I love driving EVERYTHING 😄 Glad Phil is over the hump...he’s a tough young man!
I leave my propane on but in the future, I will upgrade to lithium batteries and add an inverter to run the frig while driving so I can shut the propane off while driving. Also, get well soon Phil!
Hi Phil and Stacy, I enjoy your videos. I have watched all of your videos for the last 1 1/2 years. You have inspired me to RV with my motorcycles. I am glad it is starting to opening up. I started on May 1 traveling. I may had been a little early. I just started my new UA-cam channel Cowboy Biker Adventures. I have just put up my first two RVing videos. I wish I had your talent. Don P.S. I just ordered a T-Shirt and will proudly wear it.
Wonderful video. Great job telling the masses about Fredericksburg - let's keep Palo Duro Canyon (in February) a secret!

There were several people hovering!! It was all strange!
Glad you're both doing well! Surgery is stressful for both people.
Amen to that!
You guys are terrific...be sure to try Backwoods BBQ in Fredericksburg, our hands down fav
Thanks for the tip!
after my broken ankle the narcotics like demerol or morphine or codeine made my feel so sick and dizzy so i had them give me a prescription for darvocet or just go to over the counter pain meds-honestly the narcotics didn't get rid of the pain any better-you just have to wait it out-it will get better then worse again when you start physical therapy-hang in there
RIght!
Happy Memorial Day Navy. I hope you did not loose any friends, if so got bless them.
Good to see you up and about Phil. Now back to Sickbay and rest up!
Aye Aye
@@todayissomeday Was Stacy a Corpsman in the Navy?
We love the area! Luckenbach always adds days to our trips because we have plans to go to sight then wake up and say “Why don’t we go back to Luckenbach today?”
Its a really cool place right??
Fredericksburg looks like a really nice place to visit, good luck with your recover Phil

@@richardestenson7799 Thank you for the correct spelling:-) No Sir I'm not, but when I first became a firefighter/Paramedic I dated a lovely sweet nurse who was of German heritage. Ufff Da! was a term she used a lot, and I still catch myself using it. Thank You OLT
i refuse to take pain meds any more get well soon
Love the area... Right on the edge of the hill country. We stayed in an Airbnb in Bandera... Highly recommend the El Jacalito! We will be going back this winter. And☝... Maybe swing by Fredericksburg😁
Sweet
Growing up in SA, we went to Enchanted Rock every year as a field trip. I remember it very fondly. :) Oh... and Fredricksburg has always been Longhorn country!! Well, at least in my day.
I guess the Aggies invaded! :)
Thanks so much! I will add you guys to our friends map in case we are in your area
Poor Phil. Prayers for u.
Thanks so much!
That is awesome!! Congrats on driving! Phil went completely med free all day yesterday! That is progress.
Great idea!!
Phil, glad you have your own personal NP!
He is a lucky man!! :)
Thanks so much! Good luck with the channel
