Instructions
00:00 Introduction
00:18 Preheat oven to 250F (120C) and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper
00:22 Combine egg white, water, and vanilla extract in a large bowl and whisk vigorously for 30 seconds (mixture should be foamy/frothy).
01:04 Add pecans and stir until all pecans are coated in egg white.
01:28 In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugars, cinnamon, salt, and allspice (if using).
02:08 Pour the sugar mixture over the pecans and stir until completely combined.
02:23 Spread nuts in an even layer onto prepared cookie sheet.
02:53 Bake on 250F (150C) for 45-50 minutes, removing cookie sheet from oven every 15 minutes and using a spatula to stir/flip the pecans (be sure to stir ALL of the sugar mixture as well, or it may burn to the pan).
03:22 After baking, allow to cool at least 15 minutes before enjoying.
Store candied pecans in an airtight container at room temperature.
Notes
*Allspice is optional but the candied pecans that I usually buy from the Amish markets use it and it adds a nice extra touch.

Making these right now and the kitchen smells delicious!
I hope you love them! 😊
You should do a New Orleans style praline recipe Sam. Love me some pralines.
I think I'm going to try these and in lieu of salt, use some Slap Yo Mama seasoning. 🤔
Thank you so much for this. I had collected a bunch of big pecans in Georgia and already cracked and smoked them. I plan on using your recipe to make for Christmas gifts as well as my seasonings. Subscribed!!
What a great gift! I hope everyone loves them! :)
Those are so so good!!

A very interesting recipe, the nuts must be very tasty😋👍
They certainly are! Let me know if you try them 😊
Yummy just made some good snack and on salads
So glad you gave it a try!
I have a “twist” to these-I add 1/4 teaspoon reaper powder to each type of nut so they all get a little kick. Good for those that like a little heat with their sweet.
Sounds interesting! I'm not a spicy foods person, but I bet others would love to try it. Thanks for the tip! :)
Or cayenne pepper!
I love these.
💖👼🏻🌺
Me too! 😊
I need to make these. If there are any left, I'll take some up to my sister's house on Christmas Day. That is a HUGE "if"!
😂 I hope everyone enjoys them!
Hi Sam, I just wanted to let you know that I did the spicy candied cashews. I followed your recipe from the candied pecans and added a quarter teaspoon of roasted ground Chili Thai pepper. It came out great, sweet, salty, and spicy
I was able to get two pint size jars. How much would you sell this for if you did sell them. I've had people ask about it. Could you help with the prices as to what would be good and fair.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it so much! I appreciate the feedback to make it spicy. That sounds really tasty. Unfortunately I don't know how I would price them to sell. That's really not my area of expertise. I wish I could be more helpful there. :(
@Sugar Spun Run merry Christmas to you and your family. I gave the candied cashews and pecans as gifts.
Made these amazing , thank you , can I use almonds or other nuts ?
I'm so glad you like them 🙂 Absolutely!
I've never tried making them. I will now thank you for the tutorial. Do you have a recipe for sweet and spicy nuts? Thank you and Merry Christmas.
I don't, but I can add it to my list! 😊
@Sugar Spun Run I made your recipe for the candied pecans to day they are really good is an understatement. They're out of the ballpark good. Can this recipe also be used for cashews
You're right about it being cheaper to make than buying them. Thank you so much for the recipe.
That’s awesome! I’m glad you enjoyed them. Cashews will work well here too. 😊
Thank you for the recipe. I want to use demerara sugar and cayenne pepper, for a bit of a kick.
What ratio would you recommend?
Thank you!
I honestly haven’t tried it. I would certainly go lighter on the cayenne to make sure it’s not too spicy. I hope you love it!
Thank you! Does monk fruit work the same as sugar? I am thinking of making these for a friend with diabetes.
I honestly don't know for sure. I think it's finer and lighter than regular granulated sugar. I also believe monk fruit sweetener is a bit sweeter than granulated sugar so a 1 to 1 substitute may be a lot and unfortunately without having tried it I can't say exactly how to do it. :(
I didn't froth the egg and water with the vanilla essence. i just poured everything. is that okay:(
Honestly I'm not sure how it's going to turn out. Mixing it all together helps everything coat evenly. I hope you enjoy them! :)
Oven temp?
250F! It's always in the description 😊
Could you eliminate the cinnamon so you just get the pure flavor of the pecans?
Sure! Enjoy!
you forgot to showcase your finished product.......
Oven temp? Really?
Yes 250 is what you want to use
