Remember when the Commodore and Falcon was ' big '.
People say hilux and ranger too big let alone this thing so don’t worry what people say. I think American Utes more comfortable can carry decent family stuff in Ute bed and can actually fit a family of 4 unlike tiny hilux or ranger
My F450 crew cab fits in my garage.
All that size and the smaller Hilux can still haul more weight in the bed.
The F150 is the entry level into full size pickups. It is sprung for long distance comfort, not maximum payload or towing. If you are looking for maximum payload/towing from a pickup you would go for the F350 or F450 in the Ford line up.
Just looking I thnk you had the short wheelbase model not the long wheelbase as you stated.
You have a good eye! This is correct, the Lariat featured in this video has the short wheelbase not the long wheelbase as incorrectly stated. Apologies!
It is interesting to note how low the payload is despite the size. You may be able to legally tow 4.5t but if you have an average ball weight of 10% you’ve used 450kg of the 710kg payload. So forget throwing on a few accessories and loading in the family with luggage with that 4.5t trailer.
Nobody pays attention to that stuff.if there's space, just keep filling it up.
Nice review but that was not the long wheel base version of the truck, I do own a 2015 F150 with the 5.0 litter V8 and a 6 1/2 foot bed (long wheel base) XTR model and live in Canada .. I'm very surprised that Ford don't offer the 5.0 L V8 in Australia.. They are a lot more reliable then the V6 eco boost with known turbo issues.. AND yes they prices are insane here in Canada also.. However I bought my truck used in 2018 as a 3 year old truck on the used truck market and i paid 35k.. Never buy them brand new they tend to lose their value pretty quick..
Cheers and glad you Aussie finally got some decent pick ups / UTS..
It's an arms race on city streets these days to get the largest car you can. I'll buy this just for that reason. Good luck parking next to me.
No, too small. The F350 makes more sense.
Only if it's a CC with an 8'2" bed.
Love it, it's like driving a big jaguar ... powerful and made for hills, mountains, dirt-roads and yes, the highway.
“But I need to tow 4 tonnes for some reason”
4t is not that big a trailer. My small trailer is rated at 7t GVW.
If you need to move excavators, lots of concrete, dirt, cars, scrap metal, caravans anything like that. You easily go overweight in a hilux, dmax etc. plenty of people use it.
I wonder what the average height of the buyers is ?😅
who can afford this in these times, cool car though
I like this ford, in south africa the cheapest 300 cruiser cost 150k. You can buy a m2 for 140k in SA.
Lets hope they sort out the conversion issues they’re currently having. Multiple stop sales and stop deliveries.
Oh and I get a laugh when people say they’re too big., we have some of the biggest trucks in the world on our roads.
we need more of these beautiful things
It's like the same size as a landcrusier but 90ish cm longer.
Easy decision to buy, hope the waiting list is not too long
Is this Ford F-150 wider and longer than a Road Train?
You got your measurements wrong. It's 1,000 golf balls long, 750 bananas wide, 70 six packs tall and weighs as much as 20 washing machines.
Put it to the test in rally off-road racing competition championship if Ford F-150,3.5 liters can defeated Mitsubishi pajero evolution 3.5 liters
Yea but there seems to be many more large people around these days so I get it.
Australia 🇦🇺 Needs To Widen Their Parking Spots Get Rid Of Narrow Smaller Parking Spaces And Roads And Make It Bigger
“Interior ambience”? Grey on grey on grey drabness. Who writes these scripts?
I have absolutely no problem with people buying these American trucks. If their in the city the size will soon become tedious with Josh asking Tayla if he can use her Mini to go to Bunnings to buy some sht cos parking the truck is a deadset PITA on Saturday mornings at Bunnings.
Oh and if you do buy one just remember the guy driving the Fiesta in front that you're menacing, might have elevated his masculinity by doing relentless gym programs, martial arts classes and rides MTB s UPHILL for fun, instead of buying a big truck that looks aweaome!
too big for citys and parking lots but nearly perfect for rural towns and county roads with the ride quality
Did you say the power is sent to all for wheels? Is this an AWD? Too big for Australian Cities. It's also a shame Australia is right hand drive especially within most of the world is left. Left makes more sense to me :)
Left makes more sense,how??.
The F-150 is four-wheel drive, not all-wheel drive and has modes for two-wheel drive (2H), four-wheel drive high and low range (4H, 4L), and four-wheel drive auto (4A) which detects slip and sends power to all four wheels when needed.
quite obvious, YOU DO NOT HAVE A NEED FOR ONE
Comfortable seating for 5 adults and cargo space when you need it. I prefer the Super Duty, but there are many reasons people would need a smaller pickup like the F150.
No one has a need for a Lamborghini and yet people buy those
Yeah mate, better to tow a 3T caravan with a piss weak Thai ute then utilize a fit for purpose vehicle.
Stop blaming the ute and demand carpark spaces that fit....
They are inappropriate for personal use and should be taxed out of existence.
The same could be said for motorcycles, sports cars and compacts. No matter what vehicle you choose someone will have an issue with it.
I’d say the few thousand employees that convert these vehicles in Australia would have a different opinion on that. At the end of the day what someone chooses as their vehicle really has nothing to do with you.
My all time favourite pick-up truck!😮❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Way too big
April fools was last month Ford.
Love this... I want one!
Stupid car.
Dont care what the critics experts on the comment section say this thing nit only looks good ans impressive in general all American pick ups crap all over rangers hilux and all other utes on the hwy when it comes to towing on the hwy and also are alot safer since they steady and keep on the speed limits
You people at drive need to go do some research, look up what the road measurements are in other countries, including the U.S. and you'll see very similar measurements for Aussie roads, and I'm not listings them, go look it up, or go for a trip, research it. What you should be focused on is why are people buying these utes, because most of the light duty utes are being overloaded, and are running illegally, why don't you do something useful and educate on the weights and laws instead of shit canning these vehicles because you think they are to big, it's absolute stupidity, and your argument is just BS, think about why they are being sold here now, Rams, Chevs etc etc, it's very obvious !!!
Too Big and Too dangerous for our roads.
I've had one for 3 months. No issues on my end and even park in my underground car park in the city. Yes it's bigger but geez it's nice. Especially with 3 girls and all the space in the back
This is not a motor vehicle. It’s a tank for a man child.
Sorry you can't drive.
Don’t have a need for one, what a load of crap that comment is. There are people who have a need for one. Like some people have a need for a Mack Truck Prime Mover. Even if someone doesn’t have a NEED for one why can’t they be allowed to buy it. They will soon find out they aren’t the best for city driving but they are damn good for country driving. We don’t all live in the city. I bet most of the whingers about these vehicles live in cities and/or can’t afford to buy one but secretly want one.
incorrect.
