Alan Price is one of the GREATEST of all the time, an incredible Talented artist truly an English Original Performer with an unique Voice ,No one can sing this song better than Alan Price.
Once if you're lucky, an artist appears that is so talented it's almost unbelievable. Such was the case with Alan Price. A smash from the 60's! FANTASTIC backing horns too!
@@robertshadbolt3056 My favorite Animals music will always be the albums Alan was apart of, especially his work with them from '63-'65. His instrumentation is incredible, whether on an electric organ or traditional piano. The way he backs up Eric is flawless.
You know when you see him with the animals playing the keyboard he has little or no expression (I am behind on what's going on in music) I had no clue what a TERRIFIC MUSICAL ARTIST he was. It just blows me away, his voice and his keyboard performance. When I saw him with the Animals he was/is "ONE WITH THE KEYBOARD". I recognized that part of him, but had never heard him sing. Just amazing !!
@@amberlilly4101 Well I did hear him in performances of the Ed Sullivan show, because sometimes we saw him sing, and I think he has a great voice. Every member from The Animals do, I'm pretty sure
@@cassandra_bonnet Yes and? He only was with them a couple of years. He also took credit for House of the Rising Sun even though he was the only Animal that didn't want to record it.
William, you got that right!! I am late on music artist, (I am 71 and was around when the revolution happened, hippy days) however I just now discovered him, and seeing him with the Animals (here again only recently seen the animals video)and noticed how Alan played the keyboard with his serious, poker face and his hands on that keyboard, which brought me here.
One of the best artists of the 1960s - or indeed of any time - the incomparable Alan Price sings the best performance of one of the defining songs of the era. Fantastic.
This is heavy...as we used to say. Better than the studio version, which was pretty damn good and better than most versions that folllowed to this day. Thanks for posting!!
Alan Price had a small scene in Bob Dylan's film "Don't Look Back." He played a short riff on a piano and that just jumped off the screen for me. Together with Eric Burdon, he gave the Animals a gritty, authentic blues sound. Great artist.
Not so sure about the true gentleman description. He refused to share the royalties from "The House of the Rising Sun" with the other members of The Animals.
It’s now 2022 What are we expecting to happen? Not anything that can achieve what Alan Price gave to music that will be forgotten. He gave me my first love of the British sound. For that reason I now have a lifelong ❤️ of music.Always🦋🐨🇦🇺
Agree with Concatelli and Chris Kar. Definitely the best version. I have the original disc from the 60s. Such a fantastic artist. Those were the days,,,
Just simply INCREDIBLE all the way around, his voice, the music, his keyboard talent. He is ONE WITH THAT KEYBOARD.I don't think I have ever heard or seen a performance as good as that, and the icing on the cake, is how good looking he is.
And a great singer too, still today. I used to see him at the Bull’s Head in West London, where he usually performs once a month. (Except recently of course...)
I know this is weird, but I have to listen to this everyday. Just to let you know this guy Garou cannot even compare to what Alan has done. Actually, I checked out several of the artists that did "I PUT A SPELL ON YOU" and there were not ANY that could even come close to what Alan did with this. His superb keyboard ability just truly enhanced this song, all of the instruments that accompanied him really worked with his great voice to make his performance exceptionally great MAGNIFICENT !!
Alan Priceless
made me chuckle (twice)
It is impossible for Alan Price to sing a wrong note, He is an incredible musician and vocalist.
Alan Price is one of the GREATEST of all the time, an incredible Talented artist truly an English Original Performer with an unique Voice ,No one can sing this song better than Alan Price.
So true - he’s my hero
I think Creedence Clearwater did it better, that guy has an even more unique voice.
Nina Simone - his equal
it was screamin jay hawkins who did it best. they broke the mold
Yes.....I met him...funny man....lovely with it.
Alan was heavily under rated. One of the best artists ever.
spot on
"WAS"?
@@KINDOY Probably, his legacy still lives on.
@@magirusdeutzjupiter2234 He is still recording..

it seems every single orchestra that ever played with him excelled. something there about spirit.
What an incredible talent. Everything he does is top notch. Even the codas of his music is wonderful. Thank you for posting.
Man, his voice is incredible. And my Alan Price rabbithole begins...
Wonder if you've hit his animal's work yet? His organ playing was as integral to their "sound" as Eric Burdens voice was.

The simplest, the best, the most emotional and powerful.
so true!
By far the very best version of this song. Kick ass Hammond from Alan.
Indeed........
Is it any wonder why The Animals were such a great band? Alan Price is immensely talented.
I heard it was his fear of flying.
@@lesbendo6363 Yeah, when I knew that, I felt so bad for him
They were a great band, but Alan was only with them at the beginning. He know he had his own show to run.
Alan Price what Raw and Pure Talent 🎤🎹🎶
О,счастливчик!
Einfach für mich einer der BESTEN MUSIKER der Welt.
Würde ihn gerne mal live hören und sehen

Unreal, unbelievable version of this song. What a man!
The definitive performance.
Tremendous, his fingers are like little pink maggots with St. Vitus Dance total control plus excellent vocals.

irrésistible, avec cette orgue HAMMOND .......extraordinaire !
this and creedence versions surely the best of this classic
I have loved Alan Price since the Beatles arrived on the scene and a huge fan of Eric Burton & the animals.
Pure talent. They don't make them like that anymore.
One of the best ever...
a true gentleman with a geordie heart and a great songwriter-talent!

What an incredible voice, with incredible, effortless range. And then he plays ... Good grief.
