Emission française culte de Jacques Martin tous les dimanches après midi en 77 - 78. Alan révèle ici son immense talent. Son orgue fut indispensable au sein des Animals, avant qu'il soit remplacé par Dave Rowberry. Il n'empêche que… Il n'empêche qu'il à bien roulé ses 4 collègues des Animals, et en particulier Eric Burdon en s'attribuant la composition de "The House Of The Rising Sun" sur tous les disques parus après l'enregistrement de ce titre gigantesque, sous prétexte qu'écrire le nom des 5 membres serait trop long... !!! Pr exemple : Trad. Arrangements Alan Price ou Written by Alan Price Moralité : depuis 1964 il touche l'essentiel des royalties de cette chanson… et les survivants Burdon et John Steel peuvent pleurer de s'être bien fait baiser !!!

I have loved Alan Price since the Beatles arrived on the scene and a huge fan of Eric Burton & the animals.

Did he sing this in the '60s after he left the Animals? I'm sure he used his Vox Continental on the single. It took me ages to work out the intro/outro.

It is impossible for Alan Price to sing a wrong note, He is an incredible musician and vocalist.

Once if you're lucky, an artist appears that is so talented it's almost unbelievable. Such was the case with Alan Price. A smash from the 60's! FANTASTIC backing horns too!

Alan Price was a great exponent of The Geordie Blues alongside Georgie Fame. Both are wonderful white Bluesmen. Alan was a maverick songwriter though from the House That Jack Built ( a comment on High Rise living) to the Carnival delights of Geordieland ,to this smashing rendition of the late great Nina Simone and of course the Randy Newman interpretation of Simon Smith and his Dancing Bear. and without a doubt a brilliant organ player way before synthesisers for The Animals. Without his semi religious interpretation of the ' Ruin' - the song may not have worked. Allelujah The Geordies - Howay The lads!

Alan Price had a small scene in Bob Dylan's film "Don't Look Back." He played a short riff on a piano and that just jumped off the screen for me. Together with Eric Burdon, he gave the Animals a gritty, authentic blues sound. Great artist.
