How to flatten a slot car chassis, the NSR Chassis Flattener EVO!

- Опубліковано 17 тра 2024
- This week we use the new NSR Chassis Flattener EVO to correct a warped NSR Mercedes AMG chassis. It is easy to use, use the rare earth magnets to place the chassis on the flattener, turn on and let the iron heat up and leave for an hour or two. Turn off and leave for 12 hours.
Watch til the end to see the results.

Great instructions on using this Marty!
NSR’s are pretty vague to say the least. So hopefully this helps..
This is cool. It's like one of those frame straighteners for full size autos. Looks like a great product!
Seems to perform as advertised.
Great test and review - did not realize how simple this was to operate. Not at the top of my "buy" list - but it may come in handy as some point. Good job, Marty! 👍
Hi there, before you buy that device, try out the method I discribed above 🙂
I agree.. there are others ways to do this.. but it makes it pretty simple.
Very cool... relatively very "plain" n simple. Thanks for sharing this...
You're welcome!
Thank you Marty
Very welcome
G'day Marty great review thank you
Thanks 👍
Thanks for testing it out. Great info as per usual.
No problem 👍 handy tool for the serious racer.
Great video and info!
Glad it was helpful!
Happy Saturday
Have a nice day!
@twolinesslotcars my daughter n I are going to help Gloria.do some yardwork, she's hot to watch her heart rate and back..I have a large tree too cut up that feel in her yard, . So outside for awhile to day.
@@twolinesslotcars have a great weekend
That's a nice tool. But they should have gave some instructions. So that you don't overdue the heating process. But it's nice to have.
Handy tool for sure.
Does a flat chassis make a big difference? A before and after would be awesome. I would be curious to see how it impacts lap times.
When you are searching for tenths of a second.. every little thing helps.
Very cool. How long in feet is your straight-away section. No turn radius.
Almost 20 feet
Hi Marty. Nice device by NSR. But one can do the process without that device, which is way cheaper and does it pretty well. You unstrip the chassis from all parts. Than you take a metal set up plate and tape the chassis tight to the plate. Simple painter tape will do it. Than you boil water in a water-boiler or a pott. About 2 ltr. is the usual amount of water a water boiler over here has. Than you put the plate into your kitchen sink with the tightened body and poor the hot water over it, doing it from side to side over the chassis and wait a few moments. Than you poor cold water over the chassis and voila, you flattened the chassis within a few minutes. No use for buying the device therefore. But if one wants to buy it, there ya go. Have a nice weekend Marty 🙂
Thanks for mentioning this. Ill try this first🎉
Thanks Bo! You always share great information!
@@IrrerasCarrera You are welcome, eh 🙂 I never commented your clips yet, but I watched a few, when you kicked off your chanel. Try it out and it should do the job perfect 🙂
@@twolinesslotcars You are welcome Brother. Always a pleasure to give you advices and informations, without the intention to act like a smart-ass 🙂
Thanks for the video. I'm curious to know what temperature they use with the other chassis. It surprises me that they only use 70º to straighten the NSR chassis. I normally use hot water and the problem I have is that they stay straight for a short time... in no time the NSR ones are crooked again. I have no problems with the slot.it ones, they stay straight.
We will see how long it stays straight. Thanks for the comment👍
Hi there. Did you poor cold water over the chassis after the hot water? You need to do that, instead of letting the chassis cool down by its own. You may read my comment above ;-)
@@bomamo9620 No, normally let it cool very slowly. I thought it was the correct procedure for annealing plastics.
Awesome
What is the cost?
$145
anybody have any tips for using this on a slot it chassis? time or temp?
I have not tested on a lot it chassis yet, I am going to start with the standard NSR settings and go from there..
What if you have a stiff, chassis. Or does it only work on stock chassis
Stiff chassis’s might need more heat.. NSR’s instructions are very vague.. hopefully we will do some more testing and report back!
