    Hey Alice. This is a long over due message but I just want to thank you. I watched your free youtube birth classes last March 2021 and binged watched all your old videos. I was so scared of giving birth but watching them made me feel ready for giving birth. I just followed all your techniques and it made me feel more calm and prepared during labor. I did give birth naturally. 💖
    Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. You don’t know how thankful I am. 🙏🏼 I feel like I had a personal doula just by watching you.
    I wish you more success and God bless you more as you are a blessing to many. ❤️

      WOW Sam Saint Maria!! I am so honored to have been a part of your journey and to have played the role of the "doula" for you. Thank you for your kind words. Hearing this makes a huge difference in my work. Sometimes putting videos out every week can be difficult when I can't see the people who will benefit, but messages like yours keeps me going.

      @@birthtoolbox I’ve watched a lot of doulas and birth tips/classes videos but I stuck on you and never looked for any other until I gave birth. You’re such a delight to watch. There’s something about you that makes someone else feel safe, calm and taken care of. I also feel like I’m just talking to a friend. You are also very informative and I like how you discuss topics per video.
      I hope you continue doing what you do, I know one day more people will discover you as well. 💖 Will pray for that! Will also do what I can to share you to the people that I know. 💖
      PS. The next time I get pregnant I will definitely go back to you. Lots of love 😘

      YES, that is exactly what I am trying to get across in my videos. I want viewers to feel like I am speaking to them. I love helping people. It brings me so much joy, even if I don't actually see who is on the other side of the video. I feel confident that if I keep up this work that the channel will grow and I thank you for your help in sharing.

    I lost my mucus plug at 35 weeks with spots of blood but there wasn't any concerns. Not just kept telling myself I know that my baby is not going to stay the full term. Here I am 36 weeks and my cervix has already begun to soften which is the beginning stages of labor. I'm just been praying that she hold out at least

    Maybe dumb question but I’ve been having vaginal discharge since pretty much the beginning of pregnancy, and it’s sometimes quite heavy. How do I tell the difference between that and the mucus plug?

    • @birthtoolbox
      @birthtoolbox  10 місяців тому +1

      Not a dumb question! An increase in discharge is common in pregnancy. The mucus plug is going to be a thicker consistency than discharge. And the truth is that you don’t really have to know if you lose your mucus plug or not. It might be nice to know, but if you didn’t see it that won’t impact your healthcare or your labor. Does that make sense?

      Yess I feel like I been losing it through my 2nd & 3rd trimester occasionally because it’s not just a thin slimey discharge it has been thick & yellow snot like discharge but in small particles at a time. I told my OB & she just brushed it off like yea that’s just a little discharge it’s normal. But I know the difference between regular discharge & what a mucus plug looks like because this is not my 1st pregnancy. & now here I am at 37 weeks scratching my head thinking if it’s the “discharge” my doctor claims it is to be or it’s for sure the mucus plug because it’s the same results but this time it’s coming out a bit stretchier & still thick & yellow snot like, but No blood, no red or brown tone.

    • @birthtoolbox

      Yes it could be. Also, it could be a result from the exam. Sometimes that can cause a bit of bleeding.

    With first child my labour started with sweet tension in lower abdomen and then it became regular ( no waters broke, no mucus plug fell before active labour). I went to hospital and my cervix was 4cm dilated, I delivered after 5 hours ""hands off " with fetal ejection reflex.

    Second pregnancy and I lost my plug yesterday at 17 weeks. I went to the doctor and they confirmed it had come away. I had a scan and physical exam, and my cervix was still shut and a good length. Doctor told me not to worry but I’m still worried. Any advice?

    Thank you for the info.. Im 39 weeks preggy. The other day I had my internal examination from my midwife. And tonight I had a brown thick discharge. I just notice it while washing my vagina, and I feel a soft yet thick thing inside, I tried to pull it but I can't pull it all out.. Maybe its because of my examination the other day. I thought it was a sign of labor.. I started getting worried because until now, I'm not in labor..
