Love this ❤ I’ve been on saving and repaying debt journey for around 6 months now. Sometimes I slip and buy stuff which I shouldn’t have but then I remind myself why I’m doing it. Spotify premium is something I really miss and once I hit a milestone I set for myself, I’m getting it back. Depriving yourself from things that make you happy and only saving is not worth it. I lived on super strict budget for a few years which in the end resulted in massive overspending for years. I learned my lesson that balance is very important. Thanks for Netflix recommendations.
Exactly!! Balance is so important, you can still have a life while choosing to also save more than you did before. It’s so miserable to not enjoy life xx
This is why I love the cash stuffing (but I do it digitally), you can save into sinking funds for specific things (bills, savings, coffee, health etc) and still have £ for life without feeling ‘guilty’ about it.
I struggle with shopping addiction and I really want to save money. I'm not in debt, I do have savings I don't touch. But lately I haven't been saving anything because my boyfriend passed away on the 26th May this year. So I've been so distraught I've been buying more stuff than usual to make me feel better and I need to stop. I get withdrawal symptoms when I don't shop so I know it's an addiction. But I need change! Because I can't afford to keep buying stuff.
I live alone. I totally get it that you meet a friend for a coffee. I agree that this is part of socialising. I don’t get take aways or drive throughs. But if getting McDonalds with my grandkids we go inside sit down and chat. I also don’t pay for parking. Means shopping centre. Or toll bridge. Toll bridge means I’m heading for ikea 😂 I love your rules. I think you are killing it. I’m getting the same buzz from saving too. I like your buffer idea. I do pre plan for occasions. 😊
Love this update I agree I used the Costa app and Gregg's as they're by me and I don't own a coffee machine it's a treat to get out walk enjoy fresh air and have one and great to get a free one also the meal deals supermarkets do when it includes a Costa coffee for the same price as one takeaway from a Costa store is a great hack too 👏😄💖
Thanks for recommending the Netflix money shows Jess! I’m being a lazy girl here, but rather than googling I’ll ask you, are they UK focused? Or do they talk a lot about saving in states?
Us focused but a lot still applies - you’ll understand what I mean when you watch! The only bits that don’t really (I think) is when they talk about 401K

Thank you for the video. I have found that putting it away digitally doesn't motivate me as much as having the physical cash in envelopes. Well done!
I just find physical cash too much effort to get out and then put back in, just feels more unsafe to me!
@@Jessmsheppard I hear you! Do what you need to do!
Love this Jess, definitely motivating me too xx
Wooooo 🥳
Great video Jess, we were not taught these things growing up. I’m much older than you and wish I would have saved more but it’s never too late. 🇺🇸🤩💛
It’s never too late to learn about finances 🧡🧡
Thank you for the motivation😊
Would you say skin care is an essential or do you save anyway if in receipt of freebies. 🤗
Not all of my skincare/beauty is free, same as clothing. I pay for a lot more than I think anyone realises 😂

Oooo I didn’t know about the supermarkets! I love my Costa one, and the myWaitrose is handy too because you get a free one everyday! Xx
I have always saved each month £100 to pay for Christmas presents but you have encouraged me to also save a further £100 😍
That’s so good, adds up a lot over the year too!
Get reusable freezer/food bags! They save money, time buying new ones and the environment with plastic pollution
We already have Tupperware that we use so we dont need to buy more :) xx

Hi🧚
Hi Danny :)
Will you be repeating this in 2025?
I’m considering it!
Closing a card drops your score. Just chop it up and don't use it. Bad advice that it only drops you a couple points. Wrong.
This was advice I found from money saving expert 🩷
