Yes yes yes!!!! This is what South Africa 🇿🇦 needs Hein … !!! Let us appreciate hero cars like this!!! Thanks for reminding us of an era never forgotten!!! Doing excellent reviews Hein 🇿🇦👋🙌
In this segment of cars it's really hard to choose . I think I'd go for the Ballade VTec because it gives you power towards the top end and the gearbox and handling is above the 200 STi and the RXi.
Years ago, I bought the Nissan STI 2nd hand... I sold it 5 years later for nearly double the price. No mods, or changes - it was one powerful engine. Young okes kept stopping me asking me to sell them the car.
We had an RXi. Sold it for R50k with 320,000 kms on. It was so cool. As soon as you go over 5000rpms it suddenly felt turbo charged as the extra valves opened probably. It was a 20 valve 1.6.
Great video. However, it's an unfair comparison. The Nissan 160STi isn't performance oriented like the Toyota RSi/RXi. The Toyota had ITBs, higher compression ratio, a much higher redline and rev limiter, plus VVT, which all give it a power and torque advantage over the Nissan 160STi with much older tech. The Nissan 160STI should be compared to a Toyota Corolla 160i and Honda Ballade 160i (SOHC non-VTEC), cause they all make sub 90kW. The Nissan Sentra 200STi is the direct rival to the Toyota RSi/RXi. Also, you could include the Honda Ballade VTEC and Mazda 323 200ie.
I had a sentra sti which in Australia was named pulsar sss. I loved that it shared the same parts as the Gtir pulsar. Gti-r sr20det is a easy conversion which bolts right onto the fwd gearbox, which made the car much lighter without the awd system. She was a rocket.
funny how the comments would compare the 4AGE 20V Blacktop to a 200 STI VVL Neo, accept the fact that the 1.6 will kill that 160sti. Compare the Altezza RS200 5TH GEN 3SGE to a 200 STI VVL NEO which is a perfect comparison. I love the video sir thanks for warming our hearts! #toyota20vblyBAAS!!!
Please stop the Toyota bias. Nissan made the most powerful naturally aspirated production 1600cc in history. It's called the SR16VE N1. The Toyota 4AGE 20v cannot hold a candle to it in performance. Only the Honda B16B (JDM EK Civic Type R motor), compares to the top spec Nissan SR16 in stock form.
When sedans were a centre of attention like their hatchback counterpart VW Jetta VR6/CLi Toyota Corolla Rxi Nissan Sentra Sti Opel Astra 200TS Honda Ballede 160 V-tec Gone are the days , sedans are an extinct breed.
Good review . Can you please put the vw iconic citi golf 1.8i R line vs 1.8L k jetronic vw golf CTI .I drove both cars but for me the old one is the best.
We will be, if everything works out as planned, ramp it up. There’s a lot of vehicles that we are planning to feature. Love the comment, we will definitely get better👌🏻
Im sorry bud not throwing hate but Please show me where in the late 90s early 2000s cars had Alcantara? Not even high end vehicles had those bmw Mercedes,so to expect a tayota from back then to have something of that sort is abit harsh i would say. Red stitching did come in the RXi (2002) if I'm not mistaken, and looks alil different cosmetic wise, my opinion more luxurious. I don't get the comment on "has a different smell to it" I mean they not new cars, off course they both will have different smells😅, I'd understand if you were reviewing them when they were new, but u reviewing cars that's over 20 years old. Nevertheless loved the video! Keep them coming. P.s: No hate from my end, just my observation and opinions.
Thank you for the comment, we really appreciate it. We may not get everything right, but we’re definitely working hard to be authentic. Love the constructive criticism and we definitely welcome it. Keep well, and be blessed.
Open plenum with trumpets on & exhaust system makes all the difference when it comes to the 20v Rsi or rxi & just for those that didn't know the 20v Rsi & rxi comes out standard with throttles on the silver top 43m & black top 45m
Hi fans and fellow enthousiasts! Thank you all for the likes, shares and especially the comments. We really appreciate it and certainly loved interacting with you. We will do our best to up the standards. We may not be perfect, but we definitely are striving to get better and better. Love you all and keep it up. Don’t forget to share suggestions on which cars you’d like to see us review.
For you to say a stock bone stock factory stock 20valve is leka says Alot just shows Toyota isn't known as reliable get In and start cars for nothing oh & light on juice & even if it's a 1300 if u put ur foot down in Toyota it still feels fun but if u had to drive a 20valve with a leka exhaust system and open plenum with trumpets on it would've been a whole other trip really boss u would've had to use a higher up word than Leka lol😂😂😂
Those where the last reliable toyotas... All the models after that you dont really see on the road as much as the older models... Im not really a Nissan fan... But I will take the sentra anytime
Clearly you not a car guy bud sorry man but a RXI 20v is in the league of a 200sti. The comparison of a 1600 sentra "sti" with a 20v RXI nai man 😂 a gle i 160 toy vs a 160 sentra is more better comparison
Thank for the comment, the idea is to build it up. Yes, the 200 Sti is the proper competition for the RXI, but the 160 Sti is still a proper enthousiast car. Going forward, we will be reviewing many more vehicles like these and be using this as a reference. Personally, I can’t wait to review the 200. Bless you for the comment 🏆
Should have been Nissan 200 STI, not the 160 which was not worth the STI badge. Real races are BMW 325is vs Ford Sierra Xr6; Fiat Uno Turbo vs VW Citi Golf Mk1 GTI; Opel Kadett GSI (superboss) vs VW Golf VR6
Good day friends and fellow enthusiasts 👋, don’t forget to like, share, comment and subscribe 🎥🍿🥤

Excellent comment!
Excellent comparison 👏🏻 Professional and excellent content😉
Thank you so much 😀
Choosing between the rsi and the sti would break my heart i luv them both to pieces 😢
The Nissan has a softer more comfortable ride to the Toyota
Having owned both
The Nissan 2.0 Sti is the one to go for
The 200STI is an absolute legend for sure!
Got my 2001 RXi Airbag for 17 years now.
Years ago, I bought the Nissan STI 2nd hand... I sold it 5 years later for nearly double the price. No mods, or changes - it was one powerful engine. Young okes kept stopping me asking me to sell them the car.
We had the same thing with ours.
Rxi any day 😢
It is a great car indeed!
All day, every day

Exactly what I was thinking. Also neither are JDM cars.
200sti or gxi will rock the those 20 valves😂
The 200 is coming and I am confident that the RXI won’t beat it
Woow..you're the best car reviewer bro!!
Really appreciate the compliment! Have a blessed day
Any1 remember the 2l EGI ?
Very nice video sir i chose RXi
Good choice Magnus!
Old school are the best

Love the comment! Thank you for sharing 👌🏻
Pls show more of these kind of cars the whole spectrum
I luv them both unconditionally ❤
Favourite 90's car...Opel Astra 200iS or 200tS. Man, those cars were legend!
that they were and still hold their own.
You should try getting a v-tec prelude 4th or 5th gen manual. Would love to hear your opinion.
Sounds like a great idea!
I think my favourite Toyota from the 90's, the Conquest RSI

Great comment! I’ve you could have any car on your list, which one would you choose?
@@mycarnow Opel Astra TS would've been my weapon of choice
And Mazda's egi.
I feel people don't give Mazda the credit they deserve
@@conrey7917 true Mazdas have been overlooked for the longest period of time
Honda ballade dohc 89 to 92 model underated can't start in the 90s if we havent started where it began
That’s a good one. Honda is right up there for sure!
Why did y'all compare a lower spec Sentra to the highest spec Toyota?
Compare the 200STI to the RXI.
That video is definitely in the pipeline
Would like to compare these two with a Opel Monza 160i
As an opel fan I can assure you that a 1.6 opel can't be compared to a Rxi performance wise.
There are some incredible cars form the 90’s. We hope to feature many more going forward. Thank you for the comment.
Thank you for this. I also think the STI should be matched with the previous model Toyota GLI Twin cam.
Appreciate the comment! Have blessed day.
@@mycarnow You have a blessed day as well.
STI everyday of the week and twice on a Sunday.
A 160sti? 😂
Good review . Can you please put the vw iconic citi golf 1.8i R line vs 1.8L k jetronic vw golf CTI .I drove both cars but for me the old one is the best.
STI anytime, power and control❤
New to the channel keep em interested video's comin💪❤
Why wouldn’t you use the stock 200sti? The 160sti was not a competitor for the RSI/RXI.
Also why would you say those cars are JDM?
We will be, if everything works out as planned, ramp it up. There’s a lot of vehicles that we are planning to feature.
Love the comment, we will definitely get better👌🏻
My favourite 90s car is RSi Corolla from Toyota the car has it all fun and laxuary fro the car of it time ❤
Same here. But mine is a gle model

EGI Mazda 2.0 16v and ford Lazer 2.0 16v supercool cars
Both very limited ❤

I dont get why people get excited for these vehicles. They have nothing to offer. There is so many other better 80s and 90s cars to buy.
Tastes and preferences
Rxi definitely
Please do the 2.0 Nissan STI. Owned one. Smashed the V-Tec and RSI / RXI.
Bro, both VTEC and RSI/Rxi are 1600😢.
Please review The generations of VR6s. In 1 video if possible.
I think that is a brilliant idea! Thank you for the suggestion.

The RXI is the one baba
Yip Honda Ballade 180! vs Nissan Primera 200i Sti from late 90s
Why the 180i and not the VTEC?

Toyota Avante 1.6 twincam.love the shape.
Immediately.Nissan Sabre 2L GXi
For me RXi is the best besides am a big fan of 20V
I've always wondered where manufacturers get the top speeds from, I'm sure this car gets over 200 GPS speed in 4th or 5th gear
It definitely has extremely tall gearing

Rxi is a 160, not be compared to a 200
I have an 02 rxi, the seats come with red stitching
That’s how they should have made all of them. Appreciate the comment! Blessings
The RSI comes with the red seat stitching

Honda ballade vtec💯

Can’t wait for the comparison video! I’m sure it’ll edge out the RXI, but it will be close.
Impossible
A Honda CRX would give both a tough time with no vtec.
Understood this is a sedan test. 😅
