Nice video. I'm new to euro-nymphing so it's helpful to watch video of people who know how to fish this technique. Beautiful water too. Thanks for sharing this.
Love the videos. Could you get away with setting up the nymph rod with a floating line and add French leader to it and for nymphing and then swap to dry dropper without French leader. Basically to avoid bringing 2 rods? Looking to start euronymphing and was woundering if one rod could do both
Hi Seany, yes you can no hassle, if your French leader is thick enough you can dry fly and dry dropper with it, I made a video about using shock leader, it is called the multi method leader, you might have come across it on my channel, regards Eamonn
Sum fine trout you got there. It's a smashing stream ye got down there. Thanks for going though the leader setup. What length is the French leader it was quite windy so I didn't hear sum of it
Nice video, mate, and good angling. Be great if you could get miked up (Britney style) so you could talk us through your thought process as you walk up the river.
Well I think Britney has hung up her boots, might be able to get her's second hand. Great to get Irish based videos like this regardless of sound quality anyway.
What kind of reel are you using ? I recently bought a 10' 3 weight rod and to match it I bought a Shakespeare Sigma 3/4 weight reel which is super light but seems a lot smaller compared to yours. Like your videos, you make it look very easy which we all know its not !
Thanks for the reply, I wonder if you could tell me what fly line your using as well. I bought a weight 3 nymphing line but until I try it next season I wont know what its like. It looks a little thin.
What quality waters, quality fishing, beautiful fish!!! you are blessed!

Great fishing you have there on the Fane. Great videos. i fish the Clanrye river in Newry hope to get up to the Fane this season.
definitely give it a go

the leader is about ten meters, I was meant to say the 4 lbs line was airflow fluorocarbon, the wind was abit much it was an open area
Do you do any vidios on tying your fly patterns
Hi Russell, I tried but my camera is terrible for doing fly tying videos, I must try another type of camera

thanks man, yea I'm thinking of getting something like that because the sound of the wind and river is loud

Thanks BEN10TO10, the reel is a táin revolution 5/6 reel I like a bigger reel less winding , I just sprayed it black to reduce the flash,

I use a level line and then I attach a shock leader cut to twelve feet for casting most flies,
Hi there I fish the river boyne and the Blackwater there slow moveinge river's there's big fish in them wats the best way to fish them with the nymphs
Hi Aidan, try fishing them on long leaders,
Would you use a small float like the ones you use for the buzzers on small lakes
You can try them, or try dry dropper, I have my leaders built into my leader
Great videos keep them coming what size nymph are you using
Hi Joe I mainly use 16s 14s and 12s
What am I doing wrong ?
Ya I thought as much. I don't think you can use them in competition fips mouche rules so I don't bother with them. Keep up the good work anyway👍
That's true, I cut them back for the competitions, thanks again
