I had mine taken out on Monday. Day 3 of recovery and while i'm sore I can walk around and eat and nothing is bothering me. It feels so good and is a huge relief. I was so scared before I went in because I was reading forums and every single person had a horror story about their surgery. It was nothing, recovery is nothing compared to when I had a C-Section. I don't even have the gas pains, just a tender tummy around the incisions. Great job on your weight loss you look great.

Had my follow-up appointment yesterday. My surgeon said I was healing fast and didn't have to come back unless I had problems. I only got the weird burning lump in my throat for the first 2 days then it was gone. I'm back to taking my walks in the mornings with my dogs, 3 dachshunds, and eating whatever I want. I didn't have any of the "run to the bathroom now" issues lol. The fatigue is normal since your body is still healing, stab wounds take time :) I'd ask your doctor about the tummy aches and acid reflux just to be safe.

Spot on video, i was controling my pain until nothing would work and the stress of it was adding more stress with my job. Final straw was an episode whereby i felt it come on when i woke up, still went to work and by 4pm i was rushed to hospital for tests. Very painful. 2 days later my gallbladder was removed and they found 20 stone in it. I had serve acute pancreatitis and jaundice. They could not operate straight away as i was dehydrate from the previous day where i went for a run and had a sauna. Recovering now from the surgery.

also why would anyone have a problem with Shawn. He is helping himself but also helping others. I hope he has inspired others to lose weight and this video is also helpful in describing what was happening, so maybe this video might make someone go in and get checked out if they might have this. It is a win win for everyone.

I had my gallbladder removed back in 2003 it was pretty straightforward I had keyhole surgery and I recovered super quick I was in and out of hospital in 24 hours, the downside for me is that I didn’t realise the part your gallbladder plays in digestion, I thought I’d be able to eat all of the same things I used to eat, for me this was not the case unfortunately, the acid in my stomach increased and I have frequent bouts of really bad indigestion, I have to stick to a really simple diet, I absolutely can’t eat stuff like cheese, pizza, spicy foods are an absolute no no, alcohol is a no, ice cream no. This will not apply to everyone as some people I’ve spoken to can eat the same stuff they always ate.

Jaundice is an elevation of bilirubin. Normal people have a level between 0-1. At one time mine was over 30! Now it hovers around 2-2 1/2. Doctor says thats fine as long as it stays below 4. Have you ever had yours tested? And I did the apple juice & vinegar deal too. It's not a bad idea to keep doing that as it can help with liver enzymes. Make sure you look at the brands of the apple cider vinegar as there are certain ones that have what is called the "Mother" included. The Mother is all of the raw material that helps your liver. My pains were for about a year. I would walk 1-2 miles a day, but I'd have pain in my back. I thought it was my tummy pulling on my back muscles because I was 355 when I started walking. I got down to 305 before the pain got so bad I ended up in the emergency room January 17th 2016. I did 5 days of nothing but ice chips. They didn't take it out then. I had a lot of tests done, but they finally took it out in March. In that 2 months of being sick I went from 305-320, from all the liquid they put in me, then down to 255 a month later. I spent a lot of time in the hospital last year due to the first stuff I mentioned. I've got back to 291. I didn't want to keep that sick weight loss off. It made me weak. Hopefully I can start walking again next month when the snow starts to go away and lose that weight again the correct way. Hope you're feeling better. Any questions about what I wrote, just let me know. Take care, Bill

Thanks for posting it is a great help to see others have suffered the same symptoms.

Im going through this right now. Im 26. 5'9. 165lbs. Just had a baby 7 months ago. Its horrible. Even now as I type this im going through it. I've been to the hospital so much for it since January and they send me home each time with stronger pain meds. They don't want to do the surgery on me. Its as if they are waiting for it to get to the maximum point: acute cholecystitis. Right now I just have bilary colic and obstructed jaundice. I feel like my life is over...or getting there.

I’ve had them for about 3 years, and just found out I had them recently. I’ve had to cut out so much out of my diet and I can barely eat anything without immense pain. Can’t wait to get this damn monstrosity out of my body.

Glad I watched this. I’ve been suffering with my stones for about almost a year now. I almost ALWAYS wake up super nauseous with a burning sensation in my stomach. LOTS of burping lol. The attacks are always the worst surprisingly I have only had two. But I’m always in a constant pain and battle with my stomach cause of this. Always feeling nauseous can barely eat. I’m getting mine removed and I’m just praying I get an appetite back and the pain goes away. I’ve lost about 50lbs from just having the stones. I’ve joined facebook groups and keep trying to watch videos and research on it. I just can’t believe these cause so much problems in our everyday life. This makes me feel a little lighter and at ease hearing your story with them. Thank you for sharing❤

Which has gotten me worried thinking something else could be wrong too. So you saying that made me feel a bit more confident. I will be having my gallbladder removed on Tuesday. Yeah, I hope I don't get mine removed after looking at videos. Had a scare though last week and the week before because I was feeling dizzy, faint, and eventually developed a headache that led to constant vomiting. It all led to the ER and tests that lead to the diagnosis of multiple gallstones and the need for surgery after I lose weight.

EMS rushed me to the hospital and found out that mine was full of stones. Also found out one stone moved to my liver and blocked it. They told me if they don't operate I could die. I hear you on the eating choices. It hurts now no matter what I eat.
5 years of stomach problems told I have IBS and did the low formap diet. Then, two weeks ago had the familiar pain but it shifted to my ribs and felt like someone was pushing on my sternum. A light bulb went off in my head, called my sister and asked her what a gall.bladder attack felt like. Yep it matched what I was feeling.
Went to the ER and after all the tests were run they found sludge in the gallbladder, stones one which measured 3 cm! Going in for surgery soon! I would of done the flush, but I am afraid to dislodge that big one.

Your right, l lost a lot of weight when I did the juice diet at the time for like 50 days at the time, I weighed 120 kg and I lost it to 87kg almost similar to yours then I got gallstones ..what was setting me off was potatoes with butter and sardines garlic bread. now I just eat rice sweet potatoes now ... Questions, how is your bowel like now and how did you lose your weight after the surgery. I heard the apple open the duct for the stone to pass that's where the pain tends to reduce ...... did you ever consider liver flush at that time before your surgery?

Love the updates! It's especially interesting since you did the weight loss without surgery. I appreciate you talking about the other aspects of weight loss, such as gallstones, that people don't usually think about. Keep up the great vids!

Thank you for sharing...my story is very similar, even down to the PB2! The window of what I could eat was getting smaller and smaller, and my liver enzymes were also very elevated from the attacks! I'm 7 days post op today from having the surgery and still afraid to eat fat, but I'm hopeful for the future! I hope you are doing well!

Hope your doing better Shawn :( I had to get a hernia repair after I lost a lot of weight cause having a huge gut gave me a belly button hernia. Thing is though I have a weird shaped throat so getting the breathing tube in while under asthesia is very hard for the Doctors. Get this, I had to STAY AWAKE while they put the tube down :( :(

losing weight and getting buff is one effect of Steriods, going bald is another, probably needs to cycle off the steroids for awhile or jump estrogen blocker .

  • @adamgs82

I'm 34 now and I had my gallbladder removed when I was 16. I lost a bit of weight really quickly and fatty foods set off the "attacks". Severe abdominal cramping and pain... The best I could describe it was someone had tied a really tight knot around my stomach and spine, and wouldn't stop cinching up on the rope. I ended up in the ER 3 times before they finally did an ultra sound and discovered the stones.
They thought I was too young for that diagnosis, so they were testing for all sorts of things including appendicitis, but I was 100% better after they took out the organ. Recovery wasn't too bad and I've been good ever since.

Im going through this these days :/ I have to watch everything i eat. I had a gallbladder attack that came and went last night for about 9 hours. I have been dragging it out for about a year because i don't want the sugery, but i don't want to live in fear of attacks anymore and i miss eating things i really like. Think i will go for the surgery myself, i don't see this situation getting much better in the future. By the way, love your youtube channel :) Greetings from Norway.

Ya I really would say to go for the surgery. The fear of attacks got so awful for me as well. Have you tried though drinking apple cider vinegar mixed with apple juice when you have an attack.

@@coolduder Thanks for the advice. Yes i have tried it in the past and it worked, but last night it didn't. Gallstone are making me grumpy and at times depressed. How do you feel these days? Can you have a pizza or burger without issues? Not that i want to eat unhealthy again, but it would be nice to have the option once in a while.

Man, I remember watching this video 5 years ago and I was like hmm I wonder of that's why I get these weird pains sometimes. Years went by and it got worse and worse. Went to the doctor and yep got gallstones. Been dealing with it like you did for the last few years and it's gotten to the point where in just done, can't eat anything and I'm just depressed all the time and that just makes it even worse. Well got my appointment with the surgeon soon. I'm freaked out about it also but at this point I don't even care anymore, my life as it is with these gallstones sucks.
