How To Clean Your Oven With Baking Soda And Vinegar - Навчання та стиль
did people not follow the directions¬ do exactly what u did! I tried this in my dirty over, I waited 8 hrs then used a magic eraser....my stove is super clean &it left no residue for me so i am well pleased!
It must really help when you start with a sparkling clean oven!
You can also boil baking soda (sodium bicarbonate PH 9) in water to create sodium carbonate which is a stronger alkaline (~PH 11) to break down the grease better.
Great tip, thanks!!
Can you bake (boil) the water and baking combination in a casserole dish? If so, at what temperature and for how long?
For the extra crusty messes that won't come off with just scrubbing, use a pan scraper or even a paint scraper to get that off. I used to clean student residences and that's what we used for super dirty ovens.
I was just thinking about that. As a tool to use in this case.
I will get to that after my cup of coffee as I have baking soda & vinegar. Thanks for sharing.
I’m using this method to Restore Iron skillet and it works great getting ready to season them now
Thank you!!! I did this (minus the magic eraser) and oh my goodness, it did a great job. The amount of old dirty that just melted. It is easier to do than it looks. Great job to do during the lockdown Thank you 🙏🏽
This looks easy ! Thanks for sharing😻
Very clear and comprehensive tutorial 🎉
I am definitely going to try this oven cleaning tip, thanks so much! :)
How did it go?
As an apiance repair technician all of your advice is great Except telling your viewers to use the self cleaning option, I as well as pretty much anyone I've ever worked with tell customers NOT TO USE SELF CLEAN as these temperatures have a tendency of damaging other parts like control boards and locking mechanism oh yeah not to mention your electronic gas igniter may burn out
Yes, I completely agree with you. I had an oven with self clean and about 2 weeks before thanksgiving I decided to use it. Well, the oven stopped working and when the repairman came he toldme the self clean wrecked the oven. Fortunately for me, I had the extended warranty and got the oven replaced by PC Richards. A few days before Thanksgiving, the same repairman came with a neww oven and installed it. I was panicking thinking I would not have an oven in time for Thanksgiving. Since then I have never even considered using the self clean feature.
I’m afraid to use the self cleaning option on my new double ovens. My ovens are in the wall and I’m scared of a fire. I’ve spent three whole days trying to get my double ovens clean using the baking soda and vinegar method because I wanted to do it naturally without harsh chemicals. Unfortunately, this method did not work very well for me and my ovens were not very dirty.
Excellent video !!!
Thank You 🙏
This was a great video..thanks so much for sharing this our oven is just like this. I have basically everything. Definitely going to do this today. So glad I found this video😊

Thanks the brush is a good idea too😂
The bath tub for the racks also clever😅
I use an oven sheet for the floor of the oven. It keeps the "crud" off the enamel and makes cleaning a bit easier (at least on the bottom of the oven!) I also don't over fill food in casseroles or sheet pans. This keeps spillage to a minimum.
My oven has a big warning not to use foil on the bottom. That's certainly what my grandparents use on their old stoves. I'm kinda disappointed we need to buy special fancy oven mats now!
From 🇺🇸 NY - 🤗👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 thanks for you work. I liked a lots 👍
Amazing job!!
My Man....THANK YOU!!!!!
Thanks for this!
It is easy and fast!
Thank You!
Very nicely done.wow
awesome and no chemical odor i use vinegar and water on my hardwood floors as well. thanks
Vinegar is not recommended for hardwood floors, its acid can damage the seal. It’s best for non-porous surfaces.
I used a steamer after to get leftover streaks & did great
Can you use a steamers to
Clean a gas oven .I have a steamers
Use a silicon scrubber to get the burnt bits off. Then I run a 5 hour self cleaning cycle overnight, leave all windows open, bring in a fan to get the smell out. In the morning there's no smell. I use my vacuum to get rid of the ash. Then I use a damp soft cloth to clean it. Works every time. I would never get my gasket wet because it can damage it.
I'll try this thank you ..
I recommend removing the door, on mine I just lift it up off its hinges. Makes reaching in so much EASIER!
How did you clean the bottom of the oven? The thing where the heat comes from and it has holes. My oven is clean but I can see the mixture residue there and I can’t lift it out
And then google to see how to get the door back on😁😁😁
THANK YOU SIR
Wow!! I should’ve watch this video first before I bought some easy off. Thanks for sharing
I think you're going to be ok with easy off. The chemistry has all been taken cared of. Spray, wait and wipe. The oil and grease had been turned to soap. Just plain warm water will do the rest.
This didn't work for mine so you might have needed the Easy Off anyway.
Hi Thank You Good To Know.
Excellent Presentation!😃ThankS deeply for sharinG your awesome tips to get my oVen clean!👍It iS Chilly here in Edmonton and I don't want to open the windows to let any oVen fumes out as I may not be able to close the Windows!👍I came to your Channel to figure out a more Natural Way to clean my oVen without havinG to breathe toXic fumes beinG sprayed in my oVen!✌🌹🌞🌹☕🍵☕
Great video will try in morning , fyi , a Kerrig. K cup fits in the drain in tub with a small cloth, thank you, roger
🤣
I use these products in my night-time beauty routine

Thanks for sharing
You better use towel in the bathtub so it doesn’t leave metal marks on it. ☺️
Would not have thought of that!
Nice sharing brother 👌👍
Thankyou for sharing👍🏻
Thank you
im just done spread the baking powder and water mine wait for 12 hrs to wipe out again with vinegar hope cleans up tomorow i watch defferent vedio hoping turn out clean
Amazing
So what do you recommend to use on the walls of the oven if there is still a few little spots here and there? Example is say you're cleaning the oven which is decently clean but just has the dirt on the walls or the crime or whatever it is and you want your oven to be sparkly clean for a move out inspection how can you get rid of those little smudges? Just keep doing the self cleaning oven bit?
Tip: Don’t clean your oven on self cleaning mode with your racks in the oven. The chrome on the racks will blue!
...to say nothing of the fact they will never again slide smoothly in and out.😢
I have a gunky frying pan. Can I clean it the same way?
Apply cling wrap over the mixture to keep it from drying out. You'll probably find that it's easier to rub off.
THANK YOU! I'm moving in 4 months and have been wondering how I'm gonna clean this oven.
Same, on top of that I have fat spots on the stove
Anyone else think he sounds kind of like "Ferris Bueller"? 😆
Good tips! 👍
I normally use vinegar , from now on IL add baking soda 🌟👏
will this work with ACV?
Hi I'm gonna try this tip serious . I think is very good. Thank you very much
I should do right now 😅
Nice sharing stay connected
Nice video
Great
Waaaaaaaw Nice
I wish my man would clean like this..
It's pretty cool
Use cotton towels or rags they are more absorbent.
Dream on...this method works fine if you do it IMMEDIATELY after a messy cook. But you need a plastic scraper and a LOT of elbow grease to get that mess off with just baking soda and vinegar...and a pumice stone may scrape the lining. I had to do multiple baking soda scrubs and really it came down to using a plastic scraper you get for stove tops. I personally don't find the value in this method as it takes a loooooong time, and you will discover tons of baking soda that didn't come off each time your oven gets warm. Some suggests scrub daddy oven cleaner which apparently is enviro friendly
Magic Eraser is not a pumice stone. It’s a special type of sponge. Google it.
what is exactly in the paste - do you add there vinegar as well? The part is not very clear for me
When cleaning the oven before u wait 10 hours do you put any vinegar into the solution?
Is baking soda good on mold by tiles on shower area
you can clean my oven anytime. 😉😉
Is it safe for Bosch Oven?
I tried baking soda & water paste
I tried baking soda paste with white vinegar. p.s. the bubbling is the reaction between the (base) soda and the (acid) vinegar).
I tried ceramabryte.
Finally I tried the stainless steel cleaner that came with my pots and pans from Hestan.
Finally, the stain is COMPLETELY GONE.
So I have a question, what will happen if I cover the door of the oven with a coat of that paste and placed paper towels over it soaked in vinegar to sit over night ? Will it still clean or will it ruin my oven door?
Self clean ovens do not cause fires when they are dirty. The dirt just turns to ashes. if you use oven cleaners on the self clean oven you may damage the coating and it will not self clean well after. You only need to clean the door on a self clean. the self clean oven cleans a dirty oven fine.
Cone in when cleaning the oven except for the racks?
Is leave 8 hour after put baking soda inside of oven ?
How u removed bottom heating coil?
It usually lifts up but not out.
How long do you let the racks in the tub sit for?
While you scrub.
If the oven racks are that dirty, take them to a self-service car wash and pressure-wash or use an at-home pressure-washer if you have one. - from a friend.
I leave oven racks soaking in a cup or so of clothes washing soap powder and hot water overnight or for a few hours, immersed in the metal laundry tub. Then in the morning use a Steelo soap pad to simply wipe over the steel and rinse. The grease just melts away so easily.
I tried arm and hammer baking soda which don't seem to react to grease.
Dollar Stores often have thin shower curtains that are perfect for catching dirt and drips.
Then, just fold them up and put them in the garbage.
I like Cynthia Rodgers answer or you can also use a garbage bag just turn it inside out when finished use it for the trash or a dollar tree table cloth
I just use large plastic garbage bags underneath
Is something missing from this video? In other instruction I’ve seen, vinegar is sprayed on the dried paste so the reaction can help to lift food products.
Yes, he didn't spray the vinegar on the baking soda in the oven like you're supposed to
We don't use Vinegar? The paste is made out of water and baking soda.
Only when it was the time to clean you spray the vinegar, when required?
Yes. When did he use vinegar in that paste? 😂😂
that's what I'm trying to figure out. watched it several times thinking I missed it.
@@bethmohler5500 exactly shit!! had me watching this shit!! 10 times
So, no vinegar with the cleaning ove the oven? Just water/baking soda?
That’s what I thought. No vinegar was added
Save yourself some time. Buy a pumice stone for cleaning, dip in water and scrub. Works incredibly. Hadn't cleaned my oven in years, sad to say and had the whole job don't start to finish in 2 hours.
Did I miss how long you soaked the oven racks for??
While you scrub!
Can I put the soda and vinegar on self clean sides of the oven?
No
Soooo how did you know my oven was filthy?
Ive just trird this method I think it will need another application it didnt come up that brilliant
I have tried using baking soda and vinegar, works welp
Gave me what the solution does, but 1 hour is not enough for baked on stains, so trying another way but with same products.
so the paste is just baking soda and water??? no vinegar???
Please take caution if u r going to attempt, my mother tried to clean the oven after learning this method and it broke the oven completely n we had to purchase a new oven.
How
Maybe the vinegar entered the holes
thanks for the warning
👀😑
Total bullshit. Shame on you
Hello. Can I use this mixture in my oven and run it with self cleaning as opposed to doing it by hand?
No
This has never worked with me, I ended up with a baking soda crumble in my oven that got stuck in the cracks and can't get out
Just spray it with vinegar. The vinegar reacts with the baking soda to form carbon dioxide and water
@@randomuser5736 Don't know. Baking soda reacts with vinegar to form carbon dioxide and water. So it could be useful to unblock a drain. Just put some baking soda down the drain and then add some vinegar. Just hope it does not explode
@@randomuser5736 Baking soda when mixed with vinegar produces CO2. In an enclosed space it may produce problems. Like if you shake a soft drink bottle you see CO2 gas bubbles and the gas pressure builds up. You can release the pressure by opening the lid.
That is why baking soda plus vinegar can unblock a drain. The 2 react together to produce CO2 which produces gas pressure. Just like when you shake a soft drink bottle
You’re obviously doing it wrong considering this guy just made a step by step video on how he cleaned this stove lol
@@southeastpalmcustoms3997 I ended up spraying with easy off, let it sit overnight, and the gunk came off so much easier
If I don't have regular vinegar would apple cider vinegar work?
Nope. It might work at first but then it would leave everything sticky and might attract insects. Distilled white vinegar is the only type that should be used for cleaning (and thankfully it's the cheapest :D)
I did that all the time, but after cleaning,my oven stay white from the baking soda
Same
this is a great method if the oven is up to 1 year old like shown in the video his fan was still silver before cleaning started and his interior glass was also very clear, if the oven is older, than only SELLEYS OVENCLEANER will work 100% but wear a face mask with air droplet protection, and get everyone and pets out of the house apart from this it really works
Good. But that's too many tools for cleaning. The easier you make it, the more often you can do it.
The Before and After pictures are labeled wrong.
can you do this in a self cleaning oven
Well, yes but DO NOT perform self clean!
Baking soda and vinegar= acid and base. One neutralises the other, you end up with a kind of salt water. This will not clean heavy grime.
That’s… literally exactly why it works. The reaction between the two is what helps the cleaning, not the resulting product
@@laurendickerson9011 lmao
Plus lemon juice
Forgive my chemistry ignorance here, but if you mixed baking soda with vinegar I thought all you did was neutralized the acid of the vinegar, seems counterintuitive to spray it with an acid then immediately neutralize it with baking soda.
I know this is from a year ago lol sorry but if you’re still curious, both are a bit of cleaning agents on their own, and then their *reaction* together is what helps the cleaning more (not the resulting product)
So you don’t use vinegar when creating the paste?
I’m confused too! He says to used vinegar but in the video he only used water. 🫤
Yel he didn't use it
Just water
Oh
You did not say how much vinegar to add
Ive avoided this trick for years in fear of....vinegar smell. But ha fine
Gul me too!!!!!!
can't get the baking soda out Help
