The first generation of new tech mostly always sucks, but the industry can usually bank on early adopters paying high prices for shit performance just to get the bragging rights. @@prncessbaby16 ALL decently-priced botvacs these days have cliff sensors. Not-cheap Bots that'd still fall off of stairs deserves nothing short of a return & refund.
4:14 wow for a tech review she is pretty useless. The Brava jet has different pads that determine how much water she will spray. Also, had she read the manual she would realized how to use the invisible wall feature...
My robot vacuum is on a timer everyday. It definitely does not clean my entire apartment in one sweep. However my floors and carpet look amazing! Because I let it do its thing everyday, and it hits every part of my apartment several times a week. Definitely worth keeping around.
I use that same eufy vacuum in my apartment and we haven't had the need to own a regular vacuum cleaner. For the small spaces and cracks that it cant reach we just use a broom and dustpan. But it honestly takes care of more than 90% of our floor cleaning needs.
If you didn't like how wet the brava left the floor, then don't use the wet pad. The orange damp pad works the best and picks and cleans a lot better than any swiffer i have to do myself
Thanks for the well put together video. My team is working on building autonomous bathroom cleaning robots and your video is really helpful for us in learning about the customer experience!
I have a Eufy robot vacuum cleaner and it was the best purchase I've ever made. It cleans automatically every day while I'm at work and my floors are always clean
Pretty accurate. The only useful one is the robot vacuum and that has a lot of limitations. As she mentioned you have to move stuff and pre-clean to get the best results. Also, due the small size of them you have to clean out the bin frequently. I only clean one room at a time and its full after each room.
The robot vacuum is meant to replace in-depth weekly cleaning by running on most days. I have a roomba that runs 5 days per week and I have not had to manually vacuum since I bought it more than 6 months ago! The roomba is highly effective, IF you change how you view cleaning. By "maintenance cleaning" on most days you rarely, if ever, have to do in-depth weekly cleaning again! I have the braava jet 240. The woman in this video ran it on the wrong setting! The blue pad is used for the wettest mop setting. She should have ran it on the moderate setting with the orange pad. She made the extra work for herself soaking up excess water through improper use on the wrong setting! Like the robot vacuum, it is meant to run regularly, as opposed to a weekly in-depth cleaning. I run my braava jet 240 3 days per week. I have only used a regular mop once in the 4 months I bought the braava. In sum, the robot vacuum and robot mop are both highly effective, if used properly. These devices are NOT made for big messes. They are meant to clean small messes by running multiple days per week, depending on how dirty your floors get. Robots are meant for "maintenance cleaning" as opposed to in-depth weekly cleanings.
My mom had the robot vacumm. It didn't do well going between the living room, family room and hall which have no doors separating them, plus trying to keep it out of the kitchen/eating area with hard floors. It would tend to only do part of the living room the end up spending the rest of the time in the family room. Forget about it making it to the three bedrooms down the hall. So you ended up having to section off each area with brooms laid on the floor and the two provided towers that kept it from crossing an area. Anyway, you spend a lot of time just setting up every thing. It saved some time but really was just faster and only slightly longer time wise to do it yourself. Seeing the robot mower at home depot I think "yeah right". I bet it leaves several unmowed patches.
robot vacuum seems like the only conceivably practical thing. Especially if you get one that's a bit "smarter" with no-go lines and zones and such. Also, you can get them with a "mop" type attachment.
This is what happens when you don't do your research first and you cheap out in most of the cleaning robots, I have some and they work fantastic. Btw on the braava jet you can't mop your floating floor with that specific rag, it says it on the instructions. You have to use a medium wet rag which is different color. If you do a research on cleaning robots with no misleading reviews you'll find out there are some pretty good ones that do a lot of time saving as well.
That's what I was thinking. Plus you can't set different patterns on the braava jet either. The setting she was using is to limit it from crossing into and undesired part of the room.
Xiaomi Roborock S6 will do the hoovering *AND* mopping for you. We've had it for a month and it's awesome. Slightly more expensive than the hoover tried in the video, but it has laser mapping and much better navigation strategies :)
I got the first gen xiaomi and loved it so I got the new one for my down stairs and moved my old one up stairs. I think what people fail to understand with robot at least for now is of course you could do a better job but they can do a good job often. We run ours every other day and I love waking up in the morning to clean vacuum lines. Also a nice side effect is that my kids actually pick up their toys every night because I tell them if they don't the vacuum will eat them (it has) and now they don't even argue they just clean up. Which is amazing because before the vacuums they spent more time fighting then it would have taken to pick up.
I’ll suggest trying using products from the Xiaomi eco system, like the roborock s50-60 that also mops, and they even have a window cleaner... the results will be much better! Great review!
I have a Roomba and the Brava Jet. I only use the Brava when I’m out of the house. I’ll set it up start it then leave. It does take a while but it gets the job done. “Bumping into things and hitting baseboards” is how it works. It doesn’t have vision sensors so it’s essentially blind. iRobot’s new mop looks like a huge upgrade over the Brava.
I've always wondered wut would happen if I just buy robot cleaning tools instead of doing it myself. 🤔 Thank you for making this video and i'll stick to my current routine lol 😂
If you would spend more than $1800 on robots that can actually do the jobs (Irobot roomba s9 and braava jet m6) it would have been a much better experience.
In my option, I use a Roomba myself for vaccuming, yes, it takes a lot longer time to clean, but that is still time I could spend doing something else. I don't check on it unless it actually notifies me that it is stuck. Plus, I can't really vaccum much because of my leg injury. It does work pretty well for me.
The robot vacuums that are more expensive and long-time front-runners in the game ARE really good at this point. Eufy is a budget brand. There isn't a lot of computing taking place with that robot as it cleans in a random pattern versus creating a path that it remembers. The rest of the machines are kind of silly in general. Even conceptually. Having a machine that you have to move from one window to the next, it's just a silly idea. Having a machine to scrub your toilet......it's a silly idea. Those aren't really on the same level as the amount of space you have to cover with a vacuum. I'd say if you have pets, then cleaning your apartment or home twice a week isn't enough. It's a daily chore. And if it's a daily chore, then spending the money upfront for a decent robo-cuum isn't a bad idea.
That toilette was so clean from the start, it was like it had never been used. WTF how do you test a cleaner on a toilette that is so immaculately clean you could drink from it?
This is for sure the future. Theese gens are really early on the market.. I'm only 16 so I'm happy because I will see the improvements of robots and AI in my life.

I don't know if that affected this review, but one of the problems I find with selecting stuff based (in part) on ratings on Amazon is that people posting reviews on Amazon tend to factor price into their reviews. That means that if I want to know, based on Amazon reviews, whether or not I can find a robotic vacuum cleaner that's as good as e.g. iRobot Roomba but is half the price, I can't: people who'd give 5 stars to the 50% cheaper product would have given the exact same product only 2 or 3 stars if it was priced the same as the Roomba.
For the robot that cleans inside your toilet. Nothing is going to get the toilet bowl stains out unless you purchase a toilet bowl pumice stone. I wouldn't expect the robots be able to get those stains out. Even when you try to scrub the toilet out yourself with a brush it won't work. You will have to purchase a toilet bowl pumice stone on eBay or Amazon

It’s outdated tech. All of the products back then on the video were better than the previous version. All of the robots are QC Tested.
Legit businesses like these are are worst than criminals.
It’s mostly cause she used cheaper products like not using the new roomba s9 and that new braava jet has also been updated and can talk with the s9
