that intro was absolutely insane - immediately closed my computer and opened on my TV. Well done my guy so incredibly made
🤘 bro. Warms my heart when people watch my work on the big screen
Heyyyy Sam ❤ hy
I did the same
I’m about to do the same right now :)
As an AOD member, a 9/11 victim and a Cancer survivor, I found the Doc so moving. Thank you Mark. It is films like this that reminds us of our humanity and reminds me of the John Lennon phrase "Life is what happens to us when we are busy making other plans."
As a storm chaser and filmmaker whose sister passed away from cancer last year, this story struck deeper than I think I could express. Thank you for creating a storm chasing documentary that moves beyond the adrenaline of an encounter with mother nature, and delves into the heart of the subjects showing the very real and oftentimes difficult conflicts that come with this lifestyle. You captured the awe, terror and complex emotional dissonance of this story beautifully. Well done.
Sincerely appreciate you taking the time to watch this! And appreciate all the dedication storm chasers like yourselves poor into your careers!

🙋🏻♂️
I'm gonna be at work!! 😭😭
Me!
All the storm scenes have so much banding going on. Looks like 8bit footage. What happened?
As a lifelong tornado enthusiast, THIS was 24 of the best minutes I've ever watched. You have captured the spirit of the chaser. Thank you
The highest compliment! Thank you!
Hands down the best portrayal I've seen of the human element of chasing.
Mark, this is your finest work yet. Everything from the title of the film to the second story with Tirzah is just masterfully intertwined. My expectations were completely turned around. I sat down to watch a film about tornadoes, but you told a story about family, and that was so much better than anything I could've expected. Huge props to Lewis for the excellent edit. This inspires me to tell even more compelling stories than before! Thank you for this film.
Bro, this was DOPE. I'm still sitting here watery eyed. I lost 2 close family members and a number of friends to cancer. I'm glad to be apart of AOD and see Docs like this put out into the world.
Wow, thank you for sharing Harry. 🤍 sorry for the loss of those family members. Glad to have you in AOD!
My eye had to get sti and it closed down my left eye
This is the I like the vowel so it’s stI
I've never heard of these storm chasers before nor heard of their families, but I genuinely breathed a sigh of relief there at the end when it said his fiance had been declared free of cancer. This was a very good documentary and I'm now a subscriber.
Chris was on Storm Chasers. Pretty well known amongst us nerds. He was with Reed and Joel.
Holy spoiler alert!
Great doc! Enjoyed this!, sorry to hear about Tirzah! 34yr old 2 x cancer survivor here! happy she is now cancer free :) 💙
Never have I teared up from a UA-cam video. This documentary was incredible. The story was the most important part. And you filmed in that exact way. Amazing shots. Quality. But most importantly. The story. Beautiful
Amazing film. I’m an avid photographer and I just completed my chemotherapy for colon cancer and non-Hopkinson lymphoma in Calgary. I travel to Saskatchewan a lot for abandoned photography and see the storm chasers. Hope to run into you guys one day. Please give my best to Tirzah.
Jeeze... I did not expect to cry when it came to the scene with his fiance and him cutting her hair off... She's gorgeous, he's a lucky guy, and she's so lucky to have him be so caring. This story really fucking got me. Knowing how much it means to have someone who believes in you. How much it means to someone to have family and be proud of the people around you, not just for yourself.
I've always wanted a business partner, and someone to love and support mutually. Something always gets me when I can see that love and that support. I yearn for it deeply. I know I'll find someone who loves me and supports me back one day, and it's not everything I'm looking for... But the ability to share, grow and live a wonderful life is all that you really can ask for.
Thank you Mark for inspiring your students to learn and create and share. Thank you Chris and Ricky for sharing your story.
Great job, really caught the emotional conflict that everyone with a dangerous job faces, thanks.
Beautiful movie! Came to look at tornado, but characters stole all my attention! Really happy for Tirzah and Ricky, wish them all the best!
Man this is Netflix Quality direct here. This is so interesting and intense to watch. Very well done.
Was watching this at work expecting to knock out some tasks while this was on. Ended up glued to this moving story. well done!
Woahhhh the pace totally changed when the tornado sirens started sounding! Love that transition sequence.
That Opening gave me goose bumps.
I decided to respect you from now on. This video impressed me.
It is 2:35 a.m. in Korea. I was editing, and I started watching this video,
and I couldn't continue working on it. It's a great documentary. Thank you. 👍
No words man. Simply that❤
Wow! Feeling every emotion, so real. Thank you for this😢😊❤
Being a tornado chaser was my childhood dream. I hope to one day go out and experience it. Great work on this, I can't turn away!
Wow- this is next level doc work - audio, visuals, pacing, music and most of all STORY!
Thank you!
Wow. Not what I was expecting but far better, this is how to do a storm chase film that focuses on the people at the heart of it. Thank you!
Been waiting so long for this. and boy was this good. the pacing and flow was just amazing. you are the goat.
Powerful!
best move of tornadoes ever. tyl Mark🙏
What a heavy-hitting cinematic masterpiece... A pull on emotional strings from the off-set, this is some of the best work I have ever seen. I NEED more of this
To see that so many things can happen in someone's life that not many know about is astonishing. But also to see that Tirzah is now cancer free is absolutely wonderful!! Prayers that she stays cancer free! Great video as well!!
I just got chills watching this!!! Love the production
Very touching story and some beautiful storms! Tirzah should know that, she is gorgeous with a shaved head. The circumstances of why she did it was unfortunate, but most women can't pull that look off. Ricky is a very lucky man in so many ways. Your family is blessed in so many ways. Your story will give hope to others and I'm glad you both decided to share this personal and difficult story, and see that there will be more memories made. Bless your family.
BLOWN AWAY BRO! Thank you so much for you beautiful Storytelling. Have me and my wife in tears.
Storm chasing videos are a dime a dozen. This doc was different and is an absolute gem. I wanted cool footage of tornados, but what I got is look into the lives of the pros that do this work and the lives touched by these storms. Well done Mark and to your team as well.
This speaks to the little boy in me that loved tracking big storms. Glad to finally get to see this 🎉
Wow! If that had been a series, I would've binge-watched the first season in one sitting! I came for the tornadoes but stayed for the amazing storyline. I was a huge Storm Chasers fan so it's great to see Chris still doing his thing and having a family. Thanks for sharing that with the world! Wish you all the best!
Sou muitooooo apaixonada por esse fenômeno da natureza
Well done Mark, Lewis and the team. I'm shook.
Not sure how I didn't hear about this great doc until now! I'm a fellow Canadian Storm Chaser and know Ricky and Greg's work well. I'll be sharing this with my followers on social media. Loved it. Keep chasing! 🌪
Dammit man.... you had to have the conflict.... absolutely excellent!!!
Bro this is Incredible. ❤️
Also, she is in my prayers. She will be okay, God knows what he is doing brother
Awesome. The emotions, story, everything fits. Thanks for sharing!
I wish all stormchasing videos looked as cinematic as this.
Chris C has tons of experience, i would trust him. Wow, i remember when he was chasing with Reed Timmer a LONG time ago!!!!
Absolute gem, nice work.
Beautiful
As someone commented earlier, had to watch it on the TV. Brilliant brilliant stuff
Same here - this one needs a big screen
I don’t understand how I’ve never seen this guy you are way to underrated man this was one of the best quality tornado videos out there for sure good job
That was beautiful storytelling. The cinematography was insane. I couldn’t stop watching.
Beautiful work my friend. It'd be a lie to say i didn't get emotional watching it.
THIS WAS SO GOOD. i can't even say anything more. wow.
Dope documentary. Incredibly well done
When I first picked up a camera it was to record storms, and I'd lost sight of that, and lost inspiration lately. Not only was this a beautiful documentary, there's storms coming through tomorrow and I'm picking up my recording gear and am going to make a short film, thank you man. Immediate sub
Absolutely love the mood!
Crazy story
This is absolute gorgeous cinematography and storytelling! Enjoyed every single minute of it - well done, Mark!
This was incredible. Hooked the entire time. Amazing!
Mark, that was amazing. Once again you and your team told a moving and incredible story. Thank you for sharing this with us. I learn so much from you. These are truly precious souls. Thankful that Tirzah is cancer free.
Incredible work, mate!
Thank you!
Great work, very well done! I was locked in throughout the whole film!
Incredible. The two simultaneous journeys brought a depth that was amazingly touching and made me care much more about the characters. Well done!
Beautiful storytelling! The shots, music, pacing, all of it flows so well. This was amazing and I felt like I got a really good glimpse into their lives.
Chapeau Sir, Chapeau!
Well done sir’s, well done.
PHENMONAL. Favorite thing to shoot, created by one of my favorite UA-camrs. Great job, Mark. Truly amazing.
This was amazing! Congratulations to everyone at AOD, beautiful work.
Exciting and entertaining video.
Well done Mark. Well done.
the shot at 6:57 is incredible
This Rick, yeah he's something special, really special. Ricky what are you suppressing dude. I like the driver. He's real.
Kept waiting for the big storm, but all the while it was building slowly off the screen. Excellent work sir!
I could watch another hour of this…
Awesome video! A different peerspectiva about stormchasing, focusing on family and what's behind a stormchaser! Really well told story!
Thanks for this great story. I was quiet surprised by the second story here. My wife is struggleing with cancer and with my own projects beside I was blown away by this film. If my wife is well in September I hope to join the AOD. Love your work Mark (and your crew of course).
I should probably comment about the story telling elements or character development, but the story was so captivating, I was glued to the screen
I am pumped
One of the best docs ive ever seen!
the fact that they were talkin about there kids and death makes it more interesting or makes you want to watch what will happen in the end it will create a suspense.
beautifully made.
this was beautiful guys
🙏🏻🌪️
Brilliantly put together.
Beautiful piece, very inspiring!
so good!! could have easily been a full feature! great work
Great film, but it finished just as I was getting into it !
this was freaking amazing!
Thank you man!
Been waiting for this for a while. Best motivation to start filming my first documentary
Crush it Josh! Get that film moving
Terrific storytelling, Mark & team. Bravo!
Great job Mark. This crashing moment in the middle of movie surprised me! From all the shorts you showed on the internet I though it will be video about storm catcher. But again you supriced me. Congrats!
Great story telling. Had me through the whole thing. Thank's for sharing.
Hat tip from Norway
This type of adventuring carries a whole different weight with the recency of oceangate
very interesting how there familys effect there storm chasing strategies. glad Tirzah beat cancer and is healthy.
Incredible film! Especially loved to feel this emotional journey of the characters. Bravo, Mark!
Loved it!
Incredible Documentry
I love Ricky Forbes' quote: "When I'm here, I'm 100 percent fulfilled."
Damn Mark I love the way you shot this. This look big budget 😊😊😊💯💯
I really like the natural feeling…
I totally forget I’m watching a Documentary and feel more like a storm chaser myself… ❤
That’s not easy to do…
…and the suspense just keeps building… 😮
The Cancer part is a bummer… 😢
I just wish there was more. ❤
This was excellent! Loved the pacing and the emotional metaphysical journey explored in such a short period of time. As an AOD member this inspires me to keep pressing in learning and applying lessons learned from the content and from films like this. Well done!
Incredible work Mark. You had me hook, line and sinker for the full 25 minutes. Thank you for all you have done to educate and share your skills, talents and creativity. It's been amazing to be a part of AOD and learn more about the intricacies of documentary filmmaking.
I loved it! I thought I'm gonna watch an action packed doc about tornado chasing and instead watched an even better doc about life and values. ❤ My favourite moments were how you introduced the second story of Tirzah, and how she supported and encouraged Ricky when the tornado was forming. You can tell that they have a very strong relationship and respect each others callings.
Big thumbs up to the Lewis for editing, the shot of Tirzah's tears and then cut to the rain drops on the window got me.
Awesome doc guys :)
Agreed!
