  • Hello Skaters! Welcome back! As promised, here is a more challenging footwork sequence for those of you who have learned more of your skating turns. For this sequence you will need your backward outside edge 3-turns, your forward inside edge brackets and your twizzles. I have listed those tutorials below in case you need to brush up on those skills.
    You can learn this just for a fun challenge, or as part of this year's Christmas program choreography! Just like we did last year, In a couple of weeks I will be teaching you the choreography to a Christmas program that you can practice. and I will also be giving you information about how you can submit a video of your performance to be included in our Christmas Day video! Super fun right?!?

    Fun fact : that backward three turn+second half of the mohawk sequence has a specific name in French : when these two are done together it's a "pas de boucle" (which would translate to "loop step" literally haha). Anyway thanks for this! I'd love to have more examples of intermediate step sequences in the future to work on if that would be okay with you!

      it’s interesting that it’s called a loop step when this is usually the entry to a salchow lol

    This was excellent. I will work on it. I still struggle with inside back 3 turns and brackets but this is great motivation to keep working on everything. Thank you Julia. I love your videos

    I enjoyed your Preliminary Ice Dances. They helped me through these beginner dances. I'm now looking for the next group of dances, particularly the Cha Cha....but I can't find any others. Do you have these next dance videos?

    I assume you designed this footwork sequence for CCW skaters. Since this is considered intermediate, do you recommend skaters do footwork almost entirely in their dominant direction?

    • @CoachJulia
      @CoachJulia  3 роки тому +1

      Hey, thanks for comment. I’m not familiar with the term CCW skaters. This footwork was designed simply to fit within some holiday choreography I am going to be teaching in a few weeks, and to match the same shape as the beginner footwork I introduced on Sunday. If a skater was preparing for a test of a competition I would definitely recommend foot work that utilizes both dominant and non-dominant sides.

    • @claudianowakowski
      @claudianowakowski 3 роки тому

      @@CoachJulia CCW Counter clockwise. I am referring to skaters who naturally favor this direction. The majority of people naturally rotate counterclockwise. I noticed that this footwork sequence turns almost entirely counter clockwise. Since you said it is for a show now I understand that it is not intended for a test a test or competition. Thanks for the response.

      It’s always better to try and make footwork in the way you feel the most comfortable at least in a competition where practically no one knows your choreography and you can be safe that you’ll do things right, but in tests and in general I recommend you to start practicing since the very beginning everything with both feet and master it so that you can add even more into your choreography and basically push yourself a bit more to become a professional in no time ✨
