      This one hit home a little, I have an older sister and wondered why I always wanted to be like her and wear dresses like she did when we were kids. Long story short I too found out I was trans during my early teenage years but due to fear of societies input and my lack of confidence I kept it a secret and just tried to be "normal". I'm 28 now and happily 1 month and 2 days on HRT :) The main reason it hit home though was that.... my dead name is Luke :P I'm surprised when I see other Luke's lol I hope it treats you well. I fits you. Be ready for all the Luke I am your Father jokes, and "Cool hand Luke" jokes ;) thank you for uploading your timeline. Next is a hormone update timeline!!! I've recorded my first month HRT changes video and will be posting it soon. Be well, be easy, most importantly be you.

      My parents say that what I wear is for boys but they still get it for me. I had to slowly wear more masculine clothing instead of going straight to the boys section though. I don’t think I’m trans and I have long hair but I think I’m just a bit of a tomboy. I’m nearly 15 so I’m in a big stage of questioning though. I remember being 7 and my signature outfit was ONLY spider man shorts. I didn’t even wear a T shirt. At this time I also tried peeing standing, let’s just say that didn’t go well… 😂 :) ❤

      @studioblackheart Місяць тому +17

      When I go clothes shopping with my younger siblings, I go through both sections. My brother (who I plan to adopt in the coming year) is the one who makes the "that's for girls" or "but I'm a boy" comments. I just ask if he likes it. If he does, who cares? My sister (who I found out this past pride month is genderfluid) has the same struggle I have with venturing to the "other" side. It feels wrong because it's how we were raised. It feels like we shouldn't be looking there. Luckily since taking my brother in, I've been a lot better about not caring what other people think. It sure helps that he doesn't care what people think either. Let's be silly all day and look how we want.

      Right? But they're twins. They looked exactly the same. They looked like CHILDREN regardless but then we are conditioned to associate short hair with boys so even though they looked the same it made him look way more like a boy. It's interesting how we shove these ideas onto kids so young instead of just letting them be free and develop how they want to. Fair play to the parents for being supportive and it looks like they weren't pushing gender norms on them from the beginning which is cool

      yeah little kids can often pull off being a girl or a guy, once you get to a certain age that's when most boy's faces start to square out a little bit. it's very fortunate for kids who discover that they're trans when they're really young, because they can pass pretty easily. once you hit puberty that's when things become a bit more difficult to manage.

It is a mental condition but not a delusion. A lot of people respect that condition and use preferred pronouns. Think of it this way...if someone has say PTSD you aren't gonna purposefully remind them of that trauma because you don't think they deserve "special treatment" or something.

    I just love how your parents let you decide what to wear from such an early age on and then supported your transition. When I was a kid I was a typical tomboy (and I believe we even wore some similar clothes since I´m about your age and also from Germany) but in the end I still was a cis girl, while you turned out to be a guy.
    And that´s so important: to just let your children experiment and try out, to give them time to figure out their gender identity on their own and fully support them on their way, no matter what.

    I noticed that when you two were younger you could wear whatever and have your hair however. That your parents didn’t have gender associates cloths all that much like in the early photos you two had on pants and shirts and gender neutral things. I like how open your parents were and that they didn’t push anything onto you two. That’s how parents should be, letting their kids have some independence when it comes to their looks.

    I personally identify as trans-masc-enby. I am nonbinary, but I prefer more masculine nicknames and compliments. Thank you so much for posting this video. For such a long time, I was afraid to come out, but when I did, I was absolutely relieved. I haven't started physically transitioning yet (besides changing my clothing style and my hair), but even now, me then versus now is a huge difference. I'm much happier with myself now, but I still have a long way to go. It's videos like this that make me feel much more confident and comfortable with who I am and how I identify. My journey has been long and crazy, and I still have a long way to go. I'm excited to see what the future brings for me, and for you as well. I wish you luck on your journey. Thank you for all that you are doing to help fellow trans-folk and LGBTQ+ community members.

      agree. I feel the same way. I went through phases of having long hair and dressing like a 'girl' because i wanted to fit in but each time i would go back to cutting my hair cut and dressing the way i wanted to be and not how the world wanted me to be. I'm still yet to come out to my family but i have known since i was 12 and even eariler i knew something was different. The first ever memory i have is at school when my teacher asked me what i wanted to be and i said i wanted to be a dad.
