PSY101 - Psycholinguistics - An Overview
Вставка
- Опубліковано 17 чер 2024
- The hybrid name psycholinguistics reflects a truly interdisciplinary endeavour: Linguists are engaged in the formal description of language, psycholinguists attempt to discover how the underlying structures are used in the processes of speaking, understanding and remembering, and how they are acquired by children. This clip serves as an introdction to the VLC psycholinguistics class and discusses the main goals of the field.
The study of language, at the highest level, is intimately tied to questions regarding the true identity of the living personality.
This is really helpful! Thanks a bunch for posting. I'm doing a research paper on Psycholinguistics atm!

thank you for making so many great videos! I'm just curious? Are you able to do this with a grant or something? Or is this part if your work funded by some program maybe at a university? I was just thinking of if you were doing these as a hobby and then realized you have done an incredible amount for something you do during spare time! Either way, thank you for it!

hi, I love your video, you really put it simple and understandable! I am writing a small paper (3 pages) on psycholinguistics and I'm still looking a literature which is interesting and yet not so complex, can you suggest me some? Thanks :)
Lana Kitic I assume it's too late for your paper, but in any case you should check out the book 'the language instinct' if you haven't already.
Carpe Diem thank you for your answer! I did find few good books and in the end the paper was great :)
Lana Kitic can you share your paper with me. I would love to read it. Resources are really scarce and this subject

I don't know is there special term for one question/problem considering emotions and language - in analogy with research of different language speakers naming different points of colour spectrum different name, is there something similar considering meaning/semantic/pragmatic of the emotions in different languages. I noticed dictionaries tend to translate one emotion term with another making it look like both terms having same connotations, same usage.... And i though psycholinguistics may research that in relation to emotions and emotional experience depending on language of the subject. If there is some researches like these, i hope anybody could give me some term/name of that question/problem/research so i can search it on Internet easier.
You could look into the "whorfian hypothesis", at least that's the closest I can think of with what you're describing
Good efforts from pakistan
Im studying a bachelor degree in English studies and I had Linguistics, and its branches (phonetics, morphology, semantics, pragmatics, morphology and syntax.) Is it possible for me to continue a Master degree in Clinical Linguistics or Forensic Linguistics?
Yes, you can pursue a different field for graduate school as long as you have the necessary prerequisite coursework done. Just contact the department you wish to apply to and ask what coursework is necessary for the program.
Hello
I have a Master's Degree in Applied Linguistics and also have attended a PhD Program in Applied English Linguistics and have passed all the courses. Could you tell me how I can continue finishing my PhD program online? Do you offer PhD programs in Applied Linguistics on line?
