  • We are always looking to clean up old records from our database but what should you be aware of before hitting that delete button? We will review our recommendations for finding Contact records that can be deleted without impacting your historical data. There are a number of things you should consider before deleting a Contact. Are they related to an Opportunity? Are they related to any sales rep meetings or calls?
    Salesforce Resources:
    Considerations for Deleting Contacts: help.salesforce.com/s/article...
    We will review the following:
    - What happens when you delete a Contact
    - The importance of checking a Contact's related data before deleting
    - How do you find contacts that are safe to delete
    - How to report on contacts that do not have any related records
    Contact Deletions:
You may find yourself wanting to 'clean-up' Salesforce to remove the old contacts who have changed companies or retired. While cleaning up records is the right thing to do, you need to check to see if the Contacts have related records before deleting.
Be aware that if you delete a contact, the following records are also deleted:
    - Assets (without cases)
    - Attachments
    - Campaign history
    - Events
    - Notes
    - Tasks
