Can't thank you enough guys! Those are actually my boots, purchased in Bologna, Italy some 20 years ago. I used them on a daily basis throughout my studies and had them "wrapped" in Vibram for better weather protection. I can't believe I will be wearing them again soon. Amazing job as always! Ps: drop the mustache
Pan Kar Glad you like them! We were happy to be able to work on them for you. I know it’s been a while, but you’ll have them back very soon. 😉
@@TrentonHeath tnx again for the amazing job guys!
@@pankar2273 I love the look of your boots! Do healthcare workers actually wear stuff like this on the floor?
@@tommynguyen8555 actually yes, we use crocs in the operating room but ordinary shoes while running up n down to the departments. Most prefer snickers but I always went for well made leather shoes
They're good as new but better because the uppers are broken in. A beautiful claasic dress boot. Hope you enjoy them for many many more years.
In England there are many shoe repair shops but no real craftsman like these brothers. Always a pleasure to see them at work.
Got to see so many techniques and TOOLS on this one! That's my favorite part. Well all of it's my favorite part but still.
Thank you, Buck!
My theory has been proven correct. Facial hair does improve leather working skills. ;)
Another great job by our favorite cobbling brothers!
Yazza Yap Hahaha...I think you we’re definitely on to something! 😉👍👞
Yazza Yap Ya keep the stache.
Tell that to Steve over at Bedos.
Heath is so handsome that I think I prefer him with no mustache, no need to cover up any of his good looks at all!
Hanna Kin Thank you! ☺️
Love the new place! You can tell it's a lot bigger because of the echoes. Can't wait for the tour! Oh and thumbs up on the mustache 👍. I've grown mine as well during this pandemic. 😁
Thank you, Jason! Yeah, it’s quite a bit larger with much taller ceilings. We may have to resort to the small clip on mics. 👍 on the mustache.
Content is still great, but the old, smaller shop without the echoes and bit darker setting made for a more old timey intimate atmosphere. Seems more factory now.
The sound of those threads exploding apart was so good 🥰
I also now remember how I tense up when that pry tool comes out.
Gentlemen- Your workmanship and attention to detail always amaze me. You would have done well as surgeons. Congratulations on your success.
Love the stubble, not too fond of the 'stache. ☺ Great video!
ladyofglencairn Thank you! We appreciate you watching...and for the ‘stache feedback. 😉
The "Blind internal stitch" is amazing. So meticulous. One slip of the knife and you have to start all over again?
Another amazing job, gentlemen! And you keep rockin that stache, Heath! Looks good!
Thank you very much, Richard!
Congrats and best wishes on the move to the new premises! The refurb on those boots will make one Greek man very happy indeed.
I change my facial hair weekly. Do what you want and don’t worry if anyone doesn’t like it. Love the stache
The boot restoration looks great!
As far as the mustache, gave me a flashback of when my fellow Marines and I would go to the field, it was a MUST to grow the 'Stache! 👍
Looking forward to the tour of the new digs. Great re-build on these boots. As for the stache, well let's just say I tend to be partial to them myself since I started growing mine when I was back in college at the age of 21. Haven't shaved it off even once since the original growing of it and that is 42 years ago .... yep, grew it back in 1978 - were guys even born yet? Thanks again for taking us along. I always enjoy stopping in to see what you both have for us.
I only learned how to refurbish sneakers. No stitching just gluing just adding an occasional orthotic. They lasted better when I was done
Heath's stache is a keeper! It's a good look for him.
Amazing work and the new place looks amazing! Lots of success. Looking forward to a tour. (By the way, the facial hair on Heath? No thanks.)
Thank you, Sarah!! Appreciate the feedback. 👨🦰
Almost forgot guys: I kinda miss that great background music. What happened? Copyright issues? Anyway, you are awesome!
Agree on the music!
Thomas Kraincuk Thank you sir! No, we haven’t used it in a while for our repair videos. A lot of people said they preferred these types of videos without background music, so we now only use it in our tutorials.
@@TrentonHeath It is really great that you answer the guys that follow you directly! On a personal note Heath: I like your commitment to your subscribers opinions a lot BUT please it is YOUR choice whether you prefer a mustache or not. It is no one's business and you should stick with what you Heath like. I hope you won't be offended by these remarks! Once again all the best of luck and even more success with your new shop! Very rarely the world of shoe aficionados has seen such erudite cobblers as you dear brothers are! Kind regards from Vienna!
Thank you, Thomas!
Don’t listen to them, they are trolling.... your vids could be ASMR with the machine noises, the peeling of the glue, the hot cork etc.... the music ruines all of that! No music.. music is for intros and outros, or a time lapse montage.
Source: been on UA-cam since the beginning
Can’t get enough of y’all’s videos. Been binge watching like crazy. 👀
FYI… The stache is looking good. Let it keep growing.
The mustache roars! Everything is revisable, it's the spirit of the Plague Year.
James Jacocks 😁👨🦰👍
Both of you should keep full blown handlebar staches. Will make you look more vintage! Great video as usual, guys.
Heath: looks better clean shaven
Trent: looks better with a bit of scruff
Regarding moustache: Yes. However, I think your lovely wife should have veto power on that one. :D
Exactly! The SO always has last say on if a guy’s stach is sexy or not. lol
Lyndsey MacPherson I would only agree if he has veto on his wife’s appearance. I like the stache and think he is really handsome with or without it.
@@BiteSizedCrafter pretty sure that's called an abusive relationship.
The new shop seems huge! Great work as always. I had a few moments where I went "But what about...? Oh, okay!"
As far as the 'stache, not my style but most people probably like it. At the eod as long as the wife does, that all that matters. 😉
RAD6150 Very true! Glad you enjoyed the video. As always, we appreciate you watching.
Thumbs up on the moustache. Even better if you grow a full beard. Handsome anyway.
Bigger space and looks like new camera equipment too. Real professional footage there, guys.
I dig the mustachio, however I think a well maintained salt & pepper beard would also be pretty cool. Keep up the good work, guys!
The precision on the fully manual steps - cutting for the blind stitch and pressing the marks in the shoe is so impressive to me. If you make a mistake there, it really puts a dent in the whole repair.
It's very clear that you've been a completely different person in the positive sense in the most recent videos. Much more outgoing and relatable to the viewers. It must be the mustache. Whatever has happened or happening in your life, keep it up my Friend
He looks like a young george clooney with that 'stache, lol, probably works alot harder than clooney ever has though! Nice job on the boots!
So glad you guys decided to make content on this Lost Art, it’s almost impossible to find someone these days to do the work let alone to do quality work. I wear out heels like nobody’s business on both my shoes and boots.
Wow, what an amazing sole job. It must have been so tedious cutting back that layer.
Also, keep the 'stache 👍🏽
I enjoy seeing craftsmen practice their trade, it's fantastic what you guys can do to bring shoes back to life. Your mustache is just that, yours, but as a married man knows the only other option that realy matters is that of "she who must be obeyed"...😁
I will never get tired of this channel. Wish you continued success in your new location!!!
SCD Observer Thank you very much! We really appreciate that and, of course, we always appreciate you watching.
Great to see you guys in the new shop! Sound has a lot of echo due to the larger building, maybe use a different mic? Not crazy about the musstache. I'm sure the bugs will get ironed out. So happy for you and your family. Happy Independence Day.
Give the stash a little more time to grow in. If it doesn’t fill out nicely, then get rid of it. The new place looks nice. Loved the repair job on the shoes. You guys are great.
Even before you made the comment about the mustache I was trying to think of a clever way to compliment it. Thumbs up. :)
Gotta keep the stash, the repair as always outstanding. Love the videos, keep em coming.
Im speechless!! Great job guys, I really enjoyed the video.
1. Mustache: it’s your world, baby
2. Great work as always! Really liked the stamping of the leather. Look like quality leather.
Great video as always. Thumbs up on the moustache. Awaiting video on the new shop.
Que bueno verlos de nuevo. Chicos 👍 great to see you again guys
You must be in heaven with that huge big space to work in! Love the facial hair....makes you look more distinguished and professorial! You guys rock! 👍🏻😍
Thank you so much, Rita! Yes, we’re definitely enjoying having a lot more room to move around in. 😀
Wow!! You guys have so much more room, maybe put sound deadening on the walls to decrease the echoing. Awesome job and keep the stache.
Sublee75 Thank you! Yep, it’s quite a bit larger than our last place. The ceilings are very tall, so we may have to start using the clip on mics.
You guys are true craftsmen!!! GREAT JOB!! on those Boots.
Elf Owl Thank you very much!
Its always joy to see how much care and attention you give to each pair. 🤗
Miroslava Pobjecka Thank you!
wow, i only wish we have craftsman with your level of skills nearby! so impressive!
Love your videoes keep it up!
Quick question - Is the Gucci Jordan Horsebit loafers worth the money? Or are there better options at that price point?
No stash man. You look absolutely diabolical with it. Thanks as always fantastic content.
Wait, let me get my sunglasses -- just kidding! Nice, bright workplace. I'm looking forward to the tour. It's great to see a blake stitch repair. Beautiful work.
I say let the 'stache grow and see what you got. Then we can assess how it looks on you. Cool to see the new place! Now for some wall treatments to tame the echo... ;)
Hey guys, just a word about the new place . You might want to see about some sound dampening panels for the walls. It would help cut down on the echoes.
Like the new shop as well. You finally have the space you needed..
Have you ever thought about starting an apprenticeship program? I hate the thought of this type of craftsmanship and knowledge being lost. Loved the work you did on this pair of boots, btw.
Thank you, Steven! We’re actually looking to bring someone else on to learn from us and to grow with us. Definitely need the help! 😉
great video! I imagine some sound foam/sound insulation on the walls in your new workspace would greatly reduce the echoes.
I second what Thomas said, Miss The Background Music. Hope it returns!
smitty1952 We may look at bringing it back. We still use it in the tutorial videos.
I was wondering why it felt different. :)
Heath, you look like a Polish fireman now! They are really tough but good hearted guys so both thumbs up! Pozdrowienia z Polski! Greetings from Poland!
Hey T&H, great video as always! I've been wanting to get a good pair of boots for a while now. I looked at Thursday Boots, but I came across to many reviews that said they're not comfortable and supportive enough to spend a whole day wearing. I'm looking for something at that $200-300 price point from a company that makes wide sizes, which most DTC do not do. Do you have any suggestions?
In all of the cobbling videos I’ve watched on all the channels I’ve never seen what you did at 15:50 before where it gives a shiny finish to the bottom of the sole. What is that process called? Is that just a heated iron of some sort? Great job by the way!
Great job, liked the sole finish. Heath - I am a clean shaven guy but the stache looks good on you. You are in a good place with it because you can have it and look good or shave it off and look good. Depends on your mood.
joseph plumber I appreciate that!
Thumbs up on the whole mustache thing. Glad to see you’re getting settled into the new shop!
Miss the background music! But not the Stache.
@Trenton & Heath
Do you just sweep the floor or do you have a magnet for picking up nails etc.?
Great video guys, loving the new place too! Keep the tash by the way as it suits you ☺️
Thank you very much, Carl! We appreciate it.
The new place looks really big. The shoes look great. Can blake stitch shoes be turned into goodyear welted shoes? If you have a new welt and stitch it to the shoes then stitch the welt to the sole. Are there any reasons why you wouldn't want to do that? Heath, your moustache needs more work.
Heath keep the mustache! Great look. Also really excited to see more of the new shop
Seeing that old address… I know exactly where that is and my family uses you guys for our fancy shoes. Crazy.
New place looks great, and gorgeous work as always guys. I get nervous just watching blind stitches being cut..
'stache is good.
This has probably been asked many times before, but I'm new to your channel.....what glue are you using to glue the soles and heel back together?
Like the stash, “I’m a Dapper Dan Man....” reminds me of Clooney in o brother where art thou!! Rock it!
😂
Love the video as always...Never have liked beards or mustache's on men... But, your better half has the final approval..
I like the tache, Heath. But then my hair is green so I'm probably not the best person to make that assessment. 😂 These came up a treat!
Definite thumbs up on the stache. Grow it out and give yourself some handlebars!
Another great video, looking forward to the tour video. I'm not sure if it was said in the previous video but whats going to happen to the old shop/location? Keep the stache !
Oezeo Thank you very much! It was leased out to a different business.
Que sigan teniendo mucho éxito en sus nuevas instalaciones!!!
Ustedes son los magos del calzado !
Another outstanding job--I hope the doctor was happy with his restored boots. I'm happy that you got a new space, but have to say that I miss the background "look" of the old space--still getting used to the new one. As always, really enjoy your videos. p.s. "no" to the 'stache--some men's faces need one, you don't!
Finally found out how you use a glazing iron …thanks guys 🙂
I like the mustache! 👍 I bought my boyfriend some of your Southern Polished sandals and he loves them! 😁
Used to seeing you guys being clean shaven. The mo needs to be longer in order to twirl the ends 😜 but you guys can try out whatever you guys want to. Variety keeps things interesting.
Nice boots. Love seeing how much difference there’s in start to finish 👍💖👍
Thank you so much, Evelyn! We appreciate you watching.
Whatever you and your wife think on the ‘satche is the answer.
Question on the sole stamping process:
How many actual sizes do you have for that?
Seems you’d want to within a shoe size or so in order to minimize your waste.
You guys do great work. I sent in a pair of vintage AEs a while ago and I love the resole you did on them. As far as the mustache, I'd say let it grow out a bit more and then decide. That said, as a mustache wearing guy myself I say go for it if you like it. 👍
Another great video. Thanks. The 'tash' makes you look older, but, it's your choice :)
Nice work gents! What did you do to address the worn edges on the top of the uppers?
Awesome restoration! As for the mustache, first thing I thought of was a resemblance, albeit Heath is thinner, to George Clooney's CIA character in "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind". Second thing I thought of was Pete Davidson's reference to the 70's porno hitman stache. Either way, it fits you, but ultimately it's your face and you have to live with it. When I was in the Army and we deployed, my unit had us go to "relaxed grooming standards", so we had longer hair and facial hair....drove me nuts, and I couldn't wait to come home, shave and get my hair cut. To this day, eight years after I've retired, I still can't grow my hair out or keep facial hair, and God knows I've tried.
Happy 4th of July! as asked the mustache is fine, you are handsome with or without. There is more room in the new place, can't wait for the tour. Great job as always.
Thank you so much, Sharon! Happy 4th as well!
Brilliant 😀! I like the moustache . I think Trenton’s up to some mischief regarding Heath Moustache. Heath keep the moustache mate 👌🏾
Hi Heath: The moustache looks good. Maybe consider a short goatee? I think it would look great!! Keep up the good work.
Trent's knife technique opening the package is so surgical it's impressive.
If you like it .be happy.here in Puerto Rico we enjoy your work.keep going and have fun.
Keep rockin the stash. Gotta at least give it a go for a while. I actually think you could pull off the twirl at the ends with a little pomade and actually look badass. I'm nearly 41 with 3 kids and I can't grow a damn thing that resembles decent facial hair. Gotta live through you my friend!
Fast becoming my fave channel. Makes me want to train as a cobbler!
Wow, listen to the way the sound echoes. How great for you guys to have all that space.
Thank you for asking for moustache comments, it was the first thing I wanted to comment on when I pressed play but didn’t want to make personal comments if they weren’t welcomed. It gets a big 👍but I like a moustache to make a bold statement, not a timid little hairy lip, so I hope it’s going to grow some more. I just think with facial hair go big or go to the barbers. 😊
Haha...thank you, Claire! I had a handle bar mustache a few years ago. It was pretty spectacular! I may just have to go down that road again. 😉
P.S. new shop rocks...very clear video and sound...in my world, y'all deserved this change...
Big Jim Thank you very much! We appreciate that.
G'day Heath another great job and looking forward to a shop tourer, keep the mow but I'm one sided as I have one and there's no way mine's coming off. Regards John
Beautiful finish on the black soles
How do your hands feel after a day of resole's and pulling soles off all day? Do you get cramps in your hands? I'm asking because I'm interning as a designer for Tom Ford and my hands kill me after a solid day of hand sewing.
It is interesting to watch you guys do your craft. You may be drifting into the "Mario Brothers" zone when coupling your mustache with your shop attire.
Joe Haha...good point! 😁
THANK YOU! For using metric measurements, everything makes more sense
Ivan Prelevic 😉👍
I like the hat more than the stache. Congrats on the new shop.
I was waiting for the welt restitching. Were you able to get it back in each hole?
