Your Dad was my Squadron Commander. when I was in the 42nd ACCS! What a small world. He was one of the best Commanders I ever had the honor of serving under.
I hope he is doing well. Great memories of Davis-Monthan AFB. I jumped out of my chair when you put a picture of him up. I no kidding yelled "Wait, That's Col Potter! I know him!"
Thanks for the really interesting videos. I hope you didn't get your polishing skills from having to polish up Dad's boots. Well, perhaps it did you well in the long run.
Best wishes to your Dad and family.

Love hearing the back story, and seeing the positive relationship you have with each other and your family! What really amazes me is that watching the high level of skills you have, I assumed "Potter and Sons" meant that your Dad was a cobbler and you grew up around it. Hearing that you took this up "cold" is just amazing. You guys definitely deserve the success.

Guys, I live in Northern Ohio and for over 35 years I worked outside in the construction industry, the weather can be brutally humid in the summer and bitterly cold in the winter. It didn't take long for me to realize that buying cheap work boots was a mistake because not only did they fall apart quickly, they did a number on my feet. Watching the videos of you repairing work boots makes me think of how much better those years would have been spent wearing boots made by the two of you. With that said, the thing I appreciate most is the humble, down to earth manner in which you guys run you business.

Your story is amazing! I’ve been watching your channel for several weeks now and must admit that your videos are compelling. Back in 2003, a couple years before I retired, I bought several pair of Allen Edmonds shoes. I’ve since given all but two pair away. The remaining ones are still in phenomenal shape. I recently had to have the heel cap replaced on one pair, but otherwise they’re perfect. I didn’t realize it at the time I bought them, but am so glad I made the right choice. Last week, as a result of watching one of your videos I ordered a pair of Dalton boots. I hope y’all don’t end up costing me too much in shoe purchases. Finally, I have to say that what you guys are doing perfectly reflects a passage in the book of Proverbs that says, “Do you see a man who excels in his work? It’s just a matter of finding what you enjoy and exploring all options and paths. As with our story, often what starts in a garage can turn into a full time gig. From two guys that love fly fishing, keep at it and see what you can come up with. We really appreciate you sending them in! Hope you like the finished product.

Hi from New Orleans! December 2021 now. I just restored a vintage Cajun themed quilt someone threw in the trash. I trimmed it down, remade it allowing for wear, tear and mildew. It is now the size of a baby crib cover, and looks beautiful. Got it hanging on the wall, with a dowel through it - like an antique kimono. I gave it new life - while at the same time....preserving its spirit and 'mojo'. And keeping the design on the front intact. Anyone who does restoration of old items, making them new again understands that deep satisfaction - the pride of craft. You guys warm my heart. Best wishes from the French Quarter....

Wow...I'm a machinist...avid Abom fan...My grandfather had a Red Wing shoe shop in Iowa. Huge repair center and all the machines to repair shoes and leather goods. As a very small kid, I would play on the treadle sewing machines and whatever else I could get by with. I never thought I would have tears in my eyes watching you guys. I can remember the smell of the shop and the sounds of the stitching machines and sanders. The contact adhesives...best distinct smell, of course. Now...I have a cobblers nail tray in my machine shop for a reason. I had it plated in remembrance of those days. Red Wing was his number one seller and I loved the Irish Setter repair job UA-cam. You both have brought some real tears to me. In the world of "disposal" I hope you both do very well and enjoy the world where craftsmanship matters and still means something. Thank you both so much! Tom

Owned a gas station, 2 bays, when I went to sell my 11 year old asked who was buying it, told her a guy who worked for the power company. She said "is he an idiot, he is quitting a full time paid job with holidays to buy a gas station". Very glad she wasn't around when he made the offer. She realized that self employed means you put in more hours than a 9 - 5 job and holidays are not guaranteed. You put in the blood, sweat and tears along with long hours and scary sleepless nights and with love and support you have built up a business - good job you guys.

How about posting some videos focused on the women's sandals with a woman or two commenting on wearing the sandals to drawn more female viewers? Additionally, try a variation of one of Antonio's videos talking about the business challenges you faced as you started up to draw in some business/entrepreneur viewers. Have you done any community service projects that could share some UA-cam exposure? Do you have any regular customers who have made special contributions or significant personal achievements tied to their relationship with you, your families, or your business--do a profile on them. Maybe a posting about how the shoe crafting machinery works for the gearheads in your audience. Talk about the interior decorating of the new place--focus on the artifacts and objects that decorate the business space and why they are important to you. Just some ideas. Good luck on the new site!

I used to wear Brogues and Weejuns back in the 70's/80's...The only guy who could fix them and the only "old style" cobbler left in our town just happened to be right around the corner from our house. His tiny shop was like something from the Elves and the Shoemaker. When he retired there was NOTHING left other than the fast food type places like Timpsons who could only staple rubber replacement soles on whether your shoes were Clarks or Chanel...Love watching your stuff...Keep it going.
