    Easy Fix. Thanks for the video. I was able to reuse my water line, just soaked in vinegar and blew out with an air compressor.

    Hi there, my breville bes860 is leaking and I believe it is from the water inlet seal. Is this part easy to replace?

    Hi. Would this also solve the issue of your espresso machine not wanting to heat up the water ?

    Hello! first thanks a lot for this video, I was not hoping to find such guidance! Few days ago, I made the usual cleaning after the "clean me" light turned on. Following that, some electric arc smell started to come from the left side of the machine (where the grinder adjustment wheel is located) with some smoke coming out. I guess there is a problem with the electric circuits, or the solenoid coil (I do not have any idea about its function). since than I do not use the machine (I bought it from US but I live in Turkey- no service here).. Is there anything you can suggest to do? thanks!

    What kind of fitting is that? The tube is similar to a compression, but includes an oring and clip retention? I'm trying to connect up to a Breville thermocoil and would rather not have to braze on a fitting. Thanks!

    Thanks for watching! As far as any custom settings adjustments go we suggest reading the user manual. Outside of what is in the user manual we suggest getting a hold of a local service center for any other adjustment needs.

    12.43 is the water inlet seal. Mine looks like a waffle and leaks. Is it the same part for the 870 as the 860? BES860XL/08.9 is the part number I found as well as the BES870XL/12.43. Are they interchangable?

    Nice video: What I would like is the following: 1) an explanation of the water flow paths and the states of the solenoid valves when brewing coffee, dispensing hot water, and steaming. Maybe some tips on how to determine whether you have a pump or solenoid issue. I would also like to know the voltage levels at each coil, and the pump. I personally think my pump is bad since I unhooked the outlet from the boiler input and the water flow seems low. The pump also does not sound like it is reciprocating fully. I wish they had a service manual, it's not rocket science, but trying to reverse engineer everything is not that fun. It's been a great machine, but on the flip side I'm not happy that it died.

      Hi, unfortunately at this time we are unable to offer technical support. I would suggest contacting the manufacture for further information. I sincerely apologize.

    My machine has a water leak. I opened it and saw that the problem is a piece that is broken.
    She looks like a plastic valve and is situated after the water pump, and then have a tube that goes into the piece that heats the water and another tube back to the water reservoir.
    I think it serves to control the flow of water entering the part that heats the water, and she looks like one piece "T" appearing in this video.
    You know what is the piece and what's it called?
    Thanks

    This video will show you the most common tube that gets clogged. If after replacing this tube it still acts clogged you should take it to a service center. Thank you for your comment!

    Hi there! I was wondering if it is possible to adjust the pump pressure or water flow and also the pre-infusion time for this machine? Really hoping I could do that myself

    • @FIXTechGuides
      @FIXTechGuides  7 років тому +1

      Unfortunately I do not know a way of adjusting the pressure & the pre-infusion on this cleaner. I would suggest to contact the manufacture directly to see if that is something you could do yourself.

    The part that you have leaking is the safety valve; part number BES860XL/17. This part is very easily replaced. This valve is designed to relieve pressure from the pump if there is a block that no water can get through. If the valve is leaking water into the drip tray, not physically damaged or bad seal, then you might have a blockage problem that needs more attention and should be looked at by a service center.Thanks for watching!

    Thanks for the video. I was able to remove the top of my 860xl but the 3 screws under the water reservoir won't come out. They turn, I can feel them turning, but they aren't coming out. I can't get the back removed. The leak is coming from the top of the tube that is closest to the back of the machine. I think it's the one that goes into the pump. It might just be an o-ring problem. Do you have any tips for removing the screws? Also, many parts OOS,, any chance you know where to get o-rings?

    I enjoyed the video, but I need more information on replacing the solenoids. I'm not sure how to remove the solenoid unit because there is a larger tube on the left side (water supply I'm guessing). Cant figure out how to take it out in the limited space I have to work.

    • @FIXTechGuides
      @FIXTechGuides  8 років тому

      The easiest way to replace the solenoid valves is to replace the whole assembly (part number BES870XL/02.14). To remove the old assembly disconnect all the water lines and wires. Once that is done, remove the screws holding the assembly in place. You might need to disconnect any additional lines that get in the way of removing the assembly. Once you've nursed out the old part, follow in reverse order and
      install the new assembly.

      @mikewaldegger 8 років тому

      Yeah thanks. I was successful but I must admit I was a bit nervous disconnecting the water line for fear of not getting it back in place, or worse, damaging the tube! Fortunately I had little zip-tie straps on hand so was able to recreate what I took apart. Works like a charm now.

      Hi Michael,
      From your message I gather that you manage to change your solenoid valve assembly. Where did you find the part? Its currently not in stock at ereplacementparts.com
      Thanks!

    I usually make a couple coffees a day by the end of the week water tray is really full of water, is that normal? thank you

    • @FIXTechGuides
      @FIXTechGuides  6 років тому

      Hi carlos. It is always normal for water to collect in the drip tray. However, the amount of water will always
      vary with how often you brew and how often you use the frother. At the end of a brewing or steaming cycle, excess steam and hot water are discharged into a baffle that then drains into the drip tray. If you see water flowing into the drip tray during brewing, then you might have a problem with the safety valve
      or with the unit being clogged.

    I have a Breville BES830 XL. Just recently it stopped running steam through the steam nozzle and now runs it through the main (shower) head. Do you know why it is doing this? It looks like there are two parts that control the steam flow, the magnetic valve assembly and the water-steam directional valve. Could it be either one of these or both???

      Does it sound like this problem??? Because I cant find a solution anywhere to my problem, and I don't know if it's unique. I live in a place where it is extremely hard water. I've de-scaled my machine not too long ago (using a store bought coffee maker solution de-scaler like I always use for my products). Recently however, my machine when brewing the crema is fine... it's when I go to make a latte and steam my milk that when I turn on the steam wand.... I get steam pouring out of the shower head and base where the drain is with minimal water/steam out of the steam (froth) wand. To me it seems like a rubber seal/gasket is blown and therefore the steam ends up taking the path of least resistance... does this seem right? I too am looking for a repair help for this issue.

    I forgot to mention that the machine (BES870 XL) first started to make weird noises, like the one when tried to run it without water in the tank. than the problem started.
