    Hi Aju, great videos you do and very helpful, so, let me help you.
    I am a mod on a Sage coffee machine site, and we get endless water related problems in the UK as the water hardness varies from zero to 100. So, we came up with a hack to help, if you have a kettle, descale it when you buy the machine, then you can see into the kettle to see any limescale build-up, as soon as you see the first indications of limescale descale both the machine and kettle and start again.
    If you get a particular blockage, we also recommend you get a descaler and that you get the water as far through as you can to all outlets and let it sit and repeat this every few hours until it eventually gets through to all outlets. When it eventually gets through to all outlets, leave it overnight to allow it to thoroughly clean out the machine.
    I use Kilrock coffee machine cleaner as it does a great job quickly, so, I use it on any machines I get for repair that are water based, I always say if you have a water related problem, descale is the first course of action to find if the machine is clean internally, then that can be ruled out as a problem.

    You can of course use a weak acid like vinegar. The descale solution is normally lactic acid or tartaric acid that you used to clear the residues in the tube.

    • @philindeblanc
      @philindeblanc 6 місяців тому

      vinegar is not good for rubber parts. You can use citric acid and it will do a good job. Use hot water. You can also use a water pik like tool to get the liquid in hard to reach areas. Good espresso machines have a drain bolt on the bottom of the boiler, which is the best way to insert a funnel or tube to drain it all, and run distilled water through it a few cycles to clear, and then you learn NOT to use ordinary water in a espresso machine, just distilled.

    Hi, thank you very much for your videos. Love the step by step you took to show this repair.
    I am having an issue with our BES860XL. It seems to have developed a leak on the connection between the thermocoil comp and the hose coming out if the water pump and i wonder if it is due to some buildup of scale within the thermocoil itself or something else. I have checked the o-ring there and it looks fine (even replaced it with another o-ring from another part of the machine). The connection there just feels "too loose", as if the clip doesn't just keep it pushed in enough to create a good seal.
    I am a little lost at this point of my repair for something that feels should be quite easy.
    I have descaled the machine 1x with some liquid descaler I bought from Amazon.
    Any suggestions will be highly recommended.

    • @AjusCafe
      @AjusCafe  2 роки тому +1

      That hose is a common place it can clog up. It may feel a bit loose after changing the hose pipe and o-ring, but it should seal well the the pressure builds. If its still leaking or bursting to leak when you press Extraction, then yes the the thermo block unit is clogged. You need to run descaling several times. Infact fill it and leave it for an hour and repeat descaling few times. If there are big pieces of scales then it can clog the pipes again during descaling process (if the machine has bad clogs). Keep repeating for some time until its clear.

      This is the second time I've had to go inside to fix an issue. I've had my unit about 5 years and it is used at least once a day. The first time I went inside the unit, I basically got acquainted with the interior of the unit. My issue was that it just needed a good descaling. I use vinegar out of the bottle without diluting it. I run it through each output of the machine a few time, letting it sit for a few minutes between each run. I then flush it with fresh water. This typically fixes any issues; however, after the most recent "descaling" issues persist, which is why I'm watching your vid. Here I go...and thanks for the video.

      The steam wand where it connects up in the machine has a join that block water. If that fails, it can drip. The repair is the replace the whole steam nozzle kit. If its not bad, try to live with it. I would Descale the machine 2 times to rule out any calcium deposits that can block.

    Hi Aju, this question comes a little late.
    Do you follow the descaling cycle whenever the machine prompted for descaling? If yes, seems like the periodical descaling cycle defined by the machine is inadequate. In this case, you will need to do descaling more frequent than it is defined.

    • @AjusCafe

      Some big scale build up can cause that. Do Descale cycle again. This time leave the solution in the Machine for atleast an hour, then purge a bit and then pause again for an hour. Repeat this with pause in between. Try this whole process again the following day to see if that helped.

      It is not recommended to use RO water to make espresso as it removes most of the minerals. You can use filtered water.

      Interestingly enough, it also helps the body. There are ZERO minerals water gives you that you "NEED". the purest water is the best water for the body. Metals accululate in the body over decades and then reach a point of causing issues. Get your mierals and nutrients from plants and fruits, and you are A-OK.@@AjusCafe
