I’d never been a cat person, always dogs for me, until I moved to Dubai from Uk 22 years ago. My daughter nagged me for kitten from a litter her friends cat had had. Then a month later a found a kitten covered in paint! I took him home and so it progressed until i had 8. Then time passes and so do they 😒. I’ve had 12 cats I’ve kept indoors in total, with 3 indoor cats remaining and another 2 outside, which I’m not aloud to bring in. I’ve saved countless others by feeding and caring for them. I now feel I came here to help cats! But my husband doesn’t like them now after years of damage and the last one I took in likes to pee around the place. I love them though, even though it’s made a moor dent in my marriage. 🤷🏼♀️
There is something appealing to a cat about someone who is not really interested in them. They are drawn to them. My brother in law is a dog person. He doesnt hate cats, he's a compassionate person, he just can take or leave cats. My sister had a cat when they met and the cat would not leave my bro in law alone, we used to tease him about it. The cat was always in his lap or following him around. As if the cat was telling him "you WILL adore me or else!" haha. I've seen this often, if you ignore a cat they need to know why.

I pity the fools who say with such conviction that they 'hate' or 'don't like' cats.... Our big boy is the cat who thinks he's a sheep dog, lol... He's on patrol when outside. I'll tell you he's got some crafty vantage points from which to observe the perimeter... He's a total snuggler too. ❤❤❤🐱🌟

I was never a cat person, until 2020.I opened the door to go for the mail and a beautiful tuxedo ran in and stayed. Now I don't know what I would do without him.
I always considered myself a 'dog person', and I am
but in the last ten years my parents have homed 3 elderly cats and I now know I'm also a 'cat person'.
I'd love a Maine Coon Cat to share my home, with Penny (my Cockapoo) and me.
Maybe in a few years. Penny still needs a lot of attention.
He sticks to Bob because Bob seems to take a lot of snoozes.
My husband wasn't a cat guy until he married me. Our cat was a rescue kitten from a crack house. She loved her dad and stayed by her dad's side for two years. As he sick until he passed away. She knew something was wrong and stayed by my husband's side 24/7. Cats are really smart.

MAU, a Tortie adopted me last year. We have our story too but prefer to stay in the shadows of life.
I adopted two abandoned kittens about three weeks old from the neighbor’s yard. Bottle fed them, took them to the vet and loved my boys until they were eight weeks old. The local crazy cat lady found out and told me I should let another family adopt them because I’m an old man and no one would adopt my adult cats when I died. They needed a “forever home” she said. I was a little shocked at her forwardness, but agreed since I live alone. It’s been three days since they left and I’m devastated. Never thought it would hit me this hard. Crying my eyes out over stupid cats. I’m going to the shelter tomorrow and adopt the oldest cat there. I’ll try to out live him. No guarantees.
