Cannot believe how many shells washed up in that storm. My inner 10 year old would be grabbing every Florida Fighting Conch in sight. Interesting to see such a huge living Horse Conch. Happy shelling and God bless.
It was an amazing sight to see for sure 🌊 If you’d like to see a lot of live horse conchs washed up at the same beach before Hurricane Ian, please check out out this video from after another storm-even more was washed up: ua-cam.com/video/EMn5RgdQk2A/v-deo.htmlsi=kAiXKGFftrYYn9nE
Hey 👋 new viewer and instant fan, love the kindness in you and the Bible verse at the end. The spirit gives testimony whe we are true believers! ‘LET ALL YOU DO BE DONE IN LOVE” 1 COR.16;14. ❤
Awesome! Glad you found the channel! Yes, that verse speaks truth 🙌🏽 Hope you get the chance to view some of the other channel videos too. Thx for watching and leaving this comment. Blessings ☀️
Thank you again for a beautiful beach walk and for your always gorgeous, upbeat, happy, joyful way of expressing yourself. Your Heavenly Father has to be so very proud of you, his beautiful child! Speaking of children, I missed Connor. I have a crush on your son. He’s a lot like my grandson.❤ God bless your lovely family. With our political climate in such disarray and our country seemingly turning away from God, we all must pray for His divine intervention to save our nation. 2 Chronicles 7:14, KJV 14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. ❤TN Nana
Awww hello TN Nana! I still have some past shelling trips with Connor I’ll share in the future. He’ll be in my next Marco trip that we took just last week but he is older now-it’s like over night! He is into a lot more different things now. He likes shelling but is quite the mechanic and engineer! He loves the deconstruction of anything electronic or machinery and rebuilding it into something different. So he ops to skip coming w/me a lot b/c he is always fixing or building something. It’s amazing what he can do at his young age! He has a few future careers already in the making. He invents things for Ella all the time-so special, he loves his little sister SO much! Thank you for your kind words towards him and I’ll read your comment to him ❤️🏝️ Yes, this world is going south fast! The Bible warns us that it will get worse and worse in closer suggestion before the 2nd coming (like as in the days of Noah, when all but his family didn’t turn from God-lovers of self, money, greed, hate, lack of common sense etc). May we all prepare our hearts and be ready now. Jesus is coming soon! But yes, even now we must pray fervently for the nation and for more lost people to see the love of God in this messy world and hope they choose to be saved. Thx for the verse ❤️ There is such great hope in Jesus 🙌🏽
Yes 🙌🏽 What a slow process but on the other hand coming along in good time concerning how long it takes a typical city to complete projects. Such a beautiful icon for this loved-by-many island 🏝️ ❤️
So many goodies to find! I would have been walking at a snails pace to really pick through all of the shells near the lighthouse 🤩 I probably would have picked up all of the paper figs too, but hey: you were looking for something more specific 🐚 love that Calico Scallop, the Shark Eyes, and the beautiful live banded tulips. Stunners after a storm!
Yes! I only had an hour before loosing all the light-I was moving so fast I had to slow down most of the walking clips while putting this video together, I was zipping along so fast lol and it was spur-of-the-moment to go there towards sunset (had planned on going the next day there-but the good luck I had on this impromptu trip we just added another beach that following day w/o going back). I wanted to compare the bay side after this storm with my last trip there last summer to see if a storm made a difference in some type of pile up-but it didn’t b/c all the mangroves were uprooted and gone near the water from Ian. The bay side “was” a hot spot for shelling after a storm HUGE piles in those past mangroves 😭 Anyways, if I had more light I would have been there for much longer like a snail for sure. I’m actually thinking about going back this week at some point for just a day trip. Hopefully the water is clear again and I can snorkel. I can’t even imagine what’s in the water if the land shells were that great!
I would have been that person putting a all the live shells in TBE water....true they could have been out to ling...but...at least I gave them a chance. I started going to Sanibel back in the early 70s with my grandmother... We made that our annual beach trip till the late 80s... I absolutely live that place!!!!
Yep, I totally understand that. We can do what we can ❤️ And for all the ones that didn’t make it, get to feed others, so their death is not in vain. What wonderful memories with your grandmother 🏝️ Yes, there is just “something” about that island I too just “love!” ❤️ Thx for your comment!
Oh my goodness! What a lovely bunch of shells! I can't believe that Calico scallop! Lord willing, I'll be on Marco Island on Saturday. I can't wait for some beautiful beach therapy!
Amen to Scripture ❤ Gorgeous shells! Thanks for taking us with you to Sanibel Island. I remember going there with my Mom when I was a teenager.❤ You find the Best collection 😁
Yes to Scripture 🙌🏽 What a beautiful memory of your mom ❤️ Thx for sharing that! Today (Sunday, Aug. 11th) is my 22nd wedding anniversary and I told my husband I’d like our 25th wedding anniversary on Sanibel Island 🏝️
I was there right after the storm too. I pealed back a bed of seaweed more than a foot deep and I hit the jackpot! I have never seen to many true tulips in my life. Most where both huge and empty. I also found a decant sized horse conch as well as many others just like in the video. Best part is no one else thought to look there or wasn't willing to get slimy from all the seaweed so had them all to myself. I gave a bunch to a little girl and her mom from Ohio who only had a bunch of broken ones.
That’s so awesome!!! I would have gotten all stinky too lol!! Most times if I don’t find things readily on top I shuffle around or dig a little. I went to Sanibel too and there was tons of seaweed but I was finding so much just on top I didn’t even bother with the seaweed. (I should have investigated a spot though now thinking about it). Anyways, that is so awesome of you!!!! And so happy you found all that & were able to share too 👍🏼👍🏼 I met a couple that was spending there last day in Marco and they were so excited to be finding the shells over by me. I said if you think this is good you see those islands over there (10ks) they are loaded at the moment more than this. Told them about the tours and all-few minutes later I was helping them book for the next morning 🤣🤣 It was great! I almost booked myself but there were other places I wanted to check out on our mini trip over to the west coast after Debby. Take care and congrats on your finds too and happy shelling!
I went on the beach during the storm and got a bunch of good stuff but it was hard as a bunch of the stuff still had animals in them as it was all being pushed up :(
Oh I know 😔 it’s like a catch-22, excited to shell but hate all the casualties. I look at it like this and it helps: Their life was not in waste b/c they feed other creatures. All will be consumed by other living things (even feeding their babies) or organisms, so the deaths are not in vain. Hope that helps. Take care 🌊☀️🐚
I’m so happy about that calico! And it didn’t fade at all so far 😍Yes, the live ones are 😍 If I had more time I would have taken some nice photos of them before putting them back but I was racing the sunset 🌅 I was out there for an hour.
Not sure, I don’t see one on the screen at that timeframe but very possible (just looking on my phone at the moment). Happy you are shelling though the video 👍🏼👍🏼 Take care!
Not at this point. I’d like to one day but between home, a 2yr old, homeschooling my son, work, church duties and this year this UA-cam channel I can’t fit the time in. I do give shells away, add to my garden and some I return back to the ocean. Thx for watching!
