Introducing the Goshawk Outdoor OP-100 swirling flame spirit burner paired with the AZ-100 windproof stand, the perfect duo for your outdoor cooking adventures!
Amendment: I have made a claim that the Goshawk OP-100 was 85 gm in total. But I didn't realise at the time that there was still methylated spirits in the baffle which cannot be seen in the centre of burner. It helps to shake the burner to see if there is still methylated spirits in the burner. The amended weight is 70gm / 2.5 oz total for body and lid

Some types of alcohol will flare up like that. Use methanol, as pure as you can find. It will give you a nice blue flame that doesn’t flare up as badly.

It's fun playing around, with punching holes in cans, but I have found the perfect simmer ring.

Just use a damp bit of cloth to put out the flame - cloth also comes in handy as a pan grabber

Why didn't I think of that. That's exactly what I will use in the interim. Sometimes, it's the simpler things.😊

I hope they are around for the long haul too.
I am always using my op-100, and the pot stand out of convenience and compactness.

    Does your OP-100 leak fuel?
I recently purchased one and I love it, but it leaks, so I cannot store fuel in it. Sometimes it's useful to simply fill the stove (burner) and go with that, ya know, leave the fuel bottle behind.
The trangia holds enough fuel (without spilling) to be fired up.a couple-few times. Which is perfect for a hike in, boil a few hundred ml of water for a freeze dried meal, sleep, wake up and boil 500-ish ml for coffee & instant oatmeal for breakfast. Then hike back out.
The goshawk has a terrific weight and sleek appearance and the flame pattern is sweet.
It also needs a simmer-ring to slow it down a bit because it has only one speed: beast-mode. Which isn't useful beyong boiling water.
Anyway, love your analysis. Thankyou 👍

My Goshawk doesn't seem to leak fluid. The goshawk fuel containers are very light and very economical in price. This could possibly be a solution to your problem. It could also be worth your time reaching out to Goshawk to see what they have to say.
      Imagine a titanium Trangia 😊😊😊
