This looks great! I’m always on the lookout for something different to knit 🧶, so when I’m finished my current knitting project, I’ll be having a try at this! Thanks for your interesting video! 🙂
Very clear instructions for the Baby Blanket pattern in VFW's book. I appreciate your showing the difference in sizes of the square orientation and how it squares up when all 4 blocks are completed.
I got here from Roxanne Richardson's channel. The Ten Stitch Blanket uses Join and Knit, but the k2tog is slipped on the return row. I'm not sure what difference that makes. One thing I figured out that eliminates some steps is to pick up the loop that will be knit together before knitting away from the JK edge.
So glad i came across your channel! Just what i was looking for @ great way to use up stash yarns. But question is wher do i start next square after the 6 one plse. 🤔 thnku
Hi Kate! You’ll work concentrically, counterclockwise. Set your k tiring flat and orient your knitting so that the working yarn is in the top right corner. You’ll cast on the required number of stitches for the square, and join that new square with the side edge of square 6 as you go along, doing a k2 tog: the last stitch of square 7 with one of the chains on the selvedge of square 6.
She’s using ?Clover needles, she shows the package Todd’s the end. They are very easy to find at Michaels or JoAnne. They aren’t normally at Yarn shops. Yarn stores sell mostly higher end needles.
Thank you for your clear pleasant instructions. I enjoy your videos. Is this the same Virginia Bellamy who influenced Elizabeth Zimmerman? Keep up the great work :)
Yes it is! Elizabeth was so enamored with Bellamy’s work that she kept checking out Number Knitting from her local library until she could obtain her own copy. She ended up advertising in her own newsletter (Wool Gathering) to try and find a copy. And she did!
Personally, I like the crochet cast on. It makes for a neat chain edge that matches the sides. It works when casting On a new units adjacent to an existing unit, it doesn’t require a long tail, and it’s easy to pick up stitches from.

I’m so glad it was helpful for you! 😀
Great tutorial, thank you.
I was wondering if this technique would work well with a 1×1 ribbing
Thanks. Another good way to work with leftover scraps.
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video!

Great idea. I’ll have to try that.

@@KnitSwag Thnku so much for replying back. I will figure it out as i have so much stash yarn to use up. Regards from S.Africa 🇿🇦
I’m new to knitting but I seriously enjoyed watching you do this. May I ask what needles you are using?
These are Clover double pointed bamboo needles.

What method of cast on is best for this?

@@KnitSwag thank you!
I think I could have “seen” the process better with varying colors of yarn…🤔
