Huawei FreeClips Review: New Form Factor For Wireless Earbuds
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 тра 2024
- The Huawei FreeClips are new open-ear design earbuds from Huawei and they are among the most comfortable earbuds I've tried, because it actually doesn't enter or touch the ear canal at all. The FreeClips last on eight hours on a single charge, are IP54 water and dust resistant, and the case supports wireless charging.
I like the open ear design because my ear canals are often sensitive. And I can wear the Huawei FreeClips when cycling and be aware of my surroundings.

Huawei is still pushing boundaries every year. What a brand!
Ya what a brand to copy other people effort and design.
Search sony ambie tw01 please
Lmao "Lenovo" and it's many clones have this exact design for months now on AliExpress...for less than $10 us.
Samsung is very lucky (the ban)
As a guy who hates in-ear design, I'm definitely gonna buy this 🔥🔥🔥
The best design idea for wireless earbuds since a while. They look stylish and I couldn't care less for noise cancellation.
Love the content you put out. I love tech its a shame what the US has been doing to limit specific companies in the states.
It's to kill competition and let US companies dominate the market.
Thank you
Not just in the states btw.. their laws seem to extend far beyond their jurisdiction
good news for global south, the more U$/Gang of 7 apply sanctions on chinese products/technologies, it means nations of global south will get them first, enjoy the latest and greatest tech, not to mention satellite call capabilities, whilst U$ will remain 4G and with same old same old at twice the cost!
I think these are best for minimising progress ear damage, and also ideal for jogging
Perfect complement to in-ears for outdoor uses. Thanks Ben for the review!
I always smile when you give a Dragon Ballz comparison/analogy to explain stuff.
Good review!
Love the unique design and they look very comfy
That's a very interesting earbuds. Thanks for reviewing it.
They are priced at £179 in the U.K. with a free watch, great interesting review.
Way too expensive
@@Ordinary_Peasantwith a free watch dude.
If the watch price is buried inside the total price, what's point of "free watch" dude?@@JIMMY-nz1ld
@@JIMMY-nz1ld and i got ℅15 off .. I jus hope it will serve my needs considering the open approach x so £152
Amazing Design. I have to get one, thanks for the review😊
Hello Ben, nice to hear from you. You are so fast😁😁
Those Freeclips designs are out of this world.
It captures attention. Like an ear ring.
Agree. Out of this world by copying similar design from sony
I'm definitely getting these. I hope it gets a global release. Another objective review. Thanks.
Ps: nice top.
Really innovative and useful. I have the same issue as you so my current main is the nothing stick but will look into these.
Please do more earphone reviews! Not that many creators that focus on open earbuds. And your reviews are really great ❤

Those earbuds look phenomenal! I have Schokz Open Run Pro and love them. Love the look of those buds!
I also have Schokz but they are not great for long time use. Kinda hurts
Great review keep it up as Ben's bro
Like always thanks a lot for all the information.
This earbuds should be the game changer among the all brands. Definitely this earbuds save someone life in action🥰
I've seen similar earbuds on TikTok before these launched and already wanted to try them. My head and my skull are a shame and my left ear cannot hold any earphones in it, it always falls out, but looking at the design of this kind of earphones, well it can be a nice solution for me.
Ben these are my favorite kind of earbuds. I too have never liked the traditional style with the silicone ear tips that have to be pressed into your ear canals and like you I can't leave them in for too long without feeling the need to take them out cause they make my ear itchy.
I'm not sure if you've heard of Oladance but as far as I know they are one of the first ones with this clip or resting on your ear style earphones and sure they have all the drawbacks like you mentioned, mainly sound quality, bass, isn't as good as the normal Airpods Pro style for instance but when I am outside walking which is one of the places I usually like to wear earbuds, I want to hear all my surroundings. Walking in LA and being closed off to traffic, you're just asking to be run over lol. I have Oladance's OWS2, they also have a newer OWS Pro which is a bit slimmer, a bit more comfortable but at the cost of slightly less battery life but still quite a bit more than these Huawei's.
They are also currently running a Kickstarter for their latest model the OWS Sports which is very similar to the OWS Pro in design but has a fixed band behind the neck for active users since that's the demo for that model. I would highly suggest checking them out if you didn't know about them before.
I've seen several brands with this style of clipping in and was always curious if these are good. I at least have an idea now. 👍
Awesome review, Ben! Nice innovative product. The only thing, I think that tapping is not the best way to interract with this shape of the device. I’d prefer apple style hold till click.
2:11 🤣 damn ben! either way, dope review. Huawei is one of those few tech cos that still values innovation. ✨
Agree. Innovating by copying the design from sony
@@fantasytky28 copying from sony ? like how they've taken the periscope zooming from Huawei when they're pioneers in Cameras ? And FYI when it comes to design there's nothing like this from Sony to be copied from but ambie and sometimes it's 'inspired of' between cos. whether it's the periscope or others, as long as you do it better and do you really think Apple introduced first ever wireless earbuds ? nope. It was some chinese Co.
@@IamVanced-hw4uh just ignore that idiot who posted on every comment that praises Huawei on this buds.
@@tim00zz haters gonna hates
Like always this is my first time Hearing about these, and yes from the Best Tech Guy😊. Have you Tried the Bone Conduction Headphones?
Looks really interesting.
Currently I use the Freebuds 5 (which also have a funny shape).
I could definitely see myself using these.
I use them already question is if the audio quality is better then freebuds 5 or microphone quality
I wish to have this as my 1st huawei earphone~
Always love Huawei products
Ya. As always copying others design
I just feel I love it.
Sold. I'm getting a pair of they come to the UK
It's on my Christmas list 😎
Thanks for all the info
nice review, and looking at it... just a good clip to the ear
Thank you Ben🙏
Definitely gotta hand it to them for that clever design, very curious how the listening experience differs from bone-conduction headphones.
U mean giving credit for them to copy the design from sony right😅
@@fantasytky28absolutely nothing like Sony Linkbuds so not sure where you get that from?
This should become a new standard design it looks so cool and is functional for those who have sensitive ears. Hope Hauwei don't drop this design.
Great design and ideas 💡! Huawei is always genius!
U mean Sony that design earclip design more than 7 years ago right
This is awesome. As someone who's ears gets gunk by in ear, open ears are pretty much my go to. Plus I hate how stuffy I feel when I put on in ears. This might just be my next solutions other than a few Sony and a budget Tronsmart I'm looking into. I just hope it doesn't dangle around my ears often 😂.
This will be a massive hit for in-office and while-driving usecases. Just a brilliant idea from Huawei.
I think you meant Sony ambie
Thanks for the review!
I love the design. I own a Sony LinkBuds WF-L900 with a similar idea, but this design looks much better (from sony, my ears are a bit tired after a while), so I will consider buying it.
Lol Sony literally have one similar design earbud, Huawei just copied it only
@@fantasytky28 not exactly - Sony slightly differently holds to the ear - more inside the canal, huawei idea in theory can be more comfortable
@@andrew_golubev lol bro I'm not talking about linkbud.
Go search Sony ambie tw01 literally exists more than 7 years
Literally same concept and similar design
@@fantasytky28 It's not even close in design. Another brainless hater.

Can you do a comparison of features of chinese phones vs google assistant ? Very curious.
Love the Freebuds 5 which have a none traditional design
Pls continue covering China brand. You are my go to English Chinese brand tech reviewer.
Microphone call quality? Do they have an app so that they can be used as DIY hearing aids (mic in -> amplify -> headphone output)? Thanks for bringing attention to these, look really interesting!
These look cool. I'm curious to see the price.
😮Awsome product 🎉
I also have a sensitive ear im for first time existed for a earbuds ❤❤
Kindly asking if you will review the vivo x100 (not the pro just the regular one). There are legitimately no reviews of it online
I liked the Huawei Free buds very much. But after a year liquid flows out of my ear and I could not wear them anymore. Now I use the Samsung Buds Live, which are sitting outside of the ear channel. They have a good bass for that design, but some shortcomings. Can you compare the new free clip to the Bud Live? Thanks in advance Best reggards Berny
Yeee I'm the first to comment🥹
Big fan✌️
Hi, just wondering how is the mic quality? And is it better than the pro 3 or the same. Thank you
I get what you mean in the first minute or so. However, you could purchase and record audio via binaural microphones and test the transparency and sound quality for us.
Aaron is Loud and Wireless does that and so did Jim's Review Room. Perhaps your channel just has a stronger focus on phones, laptops and tablets.
Ok so, you should add in your list the in ear monitors and tell us how those tech earbuds compare to those actually professional iems.
I have the Huawei freeclip. I do believe it is a product that is great for indoor not too noisy space.
Pro
Innovative
Stays on
great for indoor
it fits anyone
comfortable
Long battery Life
Con
Too expensive
sound quality is dependent on the location
it drowns in planes, trains etc.
when on a phone call your background noise can be heard by the person you are speaking to
kudos to Huawei for the first generation, I believe this product will get better from the second generation on, they will need to make some adjustments to the speaker compartment, they might have noise cancellation when making a phone call ETC..
Sadly, i like it because open fit design, but mic call quality is very important for me beside the design. I might go to for Huawei freebuds se 2, which is a lot cheaper and has quite good call quality
Will you be comparing Huawei free clips to the new Bose Ultra open earbuds?
Was curious how well they stay on during workouts, I have issues with my Sony WF1000. Also feels uncomfortable after long use. They’re selling them for $240 CAD, much cheaper than my Sony’s.
Whoa... tech reviewer low key jacked?! Look at those pull ups and dips! Get it!
Very interesting!!
There is a similar design by ambie which came out roughly a year ago. But i think hiawei refuned it to be better.
How is the call quality?
How about gaming and latency? Is it good for some casual playing and the sound is not that good for gaming?
€199/179£ , supposedly you can preorder today but only in EU/UK
how do i purchase these from Canada?
I have Bose QC 2 earbuds. now I'm seeing this 😳 I might get one of this if it's cheaper
🔥🔥🔥
3:54 This free clips ear buds will make a massive impact because it clip securely and it doesn't touch the ear canal. 3:54 I myself have a sensitive ear canal and it hurts a lot after wearing earphones for some time. 5:08 This mic illustration do make a noticeable difference, it is clearly loud enough when you bring the mic closer to your ears.
Review the new mate MatePad 13.2”
Really good design, personally I use the buds only during lunch break when I sit in the cafeteria to eat while watching something, I tried different brands of buds, samsung, jabra, soundcore, sony, all of them fall after 5-10 minutes as im eating and moving my jaws, this should sit tight I guess
No mics test? Is it that bad?
I have serious issues wearing wireless ear Buds. After only 10 mins of wearing them it progresses from itching and liquid accumulation to full blown infection that lasts for weeks. Probably due to the materials used that are scratching my sensitive skin.
So this might be an alternative I might give a shot. Fingers crossed 🤞
How to purchase this earbuds
Where can you buy them?????
4:51 what phone do you hold mr.ben ? vivo x100 pro ?!
Yes
I reckon for physical activities nothing beats Shokz OpenRun Pro.....but Huawei FreeClips battery life is way way better:)
When we gettings mate 60 or any other huawei vd vivo x100 pro?
Getting*
As far as I know, Huawei isn't the first to come out with such design. Ambie, I think is the first, them followed by Bose.... correct me, if I am wrong.
Temu has tons of these.
Better go to Doctor and get a gel for this issue. It does happens and really helps also on the long run to avoid infections, etc
What about for calls? Can people hear u clearly? It's £180 in the UK
its like fashion and tech all together.. hope they will be price lower than the pros
We wait realme GT5 pro ben
❤❤❤
But what if you already have earrings? Can you still use these? Will they fit?
Tried yesterday and yes! I have 16 earrings, 8 on each side of my ear but you see they are still comfortable
Please let me know whenever you come to Germany, I would love to meet you
Thank you!

Good for home and gym
and phone calls. Because you can hear yourself better.
Huawei say they design it? There are already a few China ear clip /earcuff/earringear piece in the market at fraction of the cost? (Ignore quality)
Literally a joke. Sony literally designed this at least more than 7 years ago
You have some dead pixels in your camera sensor. Did you notice that?
Nope I don't see it on my screens (any phone, MacBook, etc) I am not sure if it's formatting error for certain devices
The form factor is not new. Lenovo has Thinkplus x20 which is similar to this, but the touch controls isn't good.
Hi will you feel the pain because it’s clip?
This vs samsung buds live 🤔
♥♥♥
Also like open design, I love my Buds Beans ... Ops, Live 😅
Now you could be called "The Chinese Earbud Flossy Carter guy" 😅
No ANC and very expensive in Spain (€200)
There are dead pixels in your A roll Camera
I guess he Knows about it that's why he Placed himself in the the Left Portion of Frame
I think (just think) these will be good for kids.. maybe these clips could help keep their hearing good a bit longer.
It really depends on the volume
Huhu. I want one... *cries in Philippines*😭 edit: Its coming soon!
Apple is still thinking to acquire both Huawei and DJI.
Is there a market for this stuff? Samsung tried open ear earbuds with the buds live (beans), but they didn't sell
That's unfortunate, I love the beans, I'm on my second set and will continue to find discounted ones if I loose this pair. I know they don't fit well for everyone though.

the beans had a wearing learning curve and terrible fit on some people. I dont think these fit the exact same category because they're like a weird earring that plays music outside your ear and not inside it.
Perfect for phone calls and sport!
Great review. I'll pass on the earbuds tho.
@ndukasmith you care, that's why you replied!! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
