Hey Regan, thanks for asking Mike "why" about halfway through the video, and also adding your thoughts about what's going on. Makes a big difference in understanding.
R.G., Bro, we all here that just watched this video are sitting here amazed at ur progress. Dude, you've come a long way and are an inspiration to all of us. Thanks for the upload. GOD BLESS Mr. O 2023💪🏼👊🏼✌🏼🙏🏼
Heavy weights with shitty form or light weight with perfect form creates the same results. A trainers job is to make it so complicated you think you can't do it on your own and you become dependent on them like they are of your money.
Dont bother arguing. The heavy weight fan boys are still thinking like cavemen. Light weight with great form also stops u from having chronic injuries.
Regan grimes awesome shoulder workout I tried it I felt it 🔥 on my shoulders did it to the best of my ability big Mike knows his stuff on training 👍wish you the best at your next show 🙏 let's go Regan grimes 😊besafe bro 🦁👑
Finding Mike and his cues is the best thing that happened to my training. I used to be tense af and brace my whole body in order to lift max amount of weight. Locking on joints, moving the weight from A to B and focusing on that progressive overload shit. "Increased weight and got more reps than last time. Hurt my shoulder while doing it but I must be growing!"
On shoulder presses, butt and back needs to be hard up against the back of bench seat not forward otherwise you arch too much and start turning it into a high incline.
Its absolutely wild how massive Mike is for a 6' dude and how his style and technique absolutely shreds some of the biggest jacked dudes in the industry with reasonable weight and solid movement focused technique.
Old age and injuries....... the only way to work around the pain nowadays is swinging when working the side delts. No strict form for me anymore Grimey!!
This is a legit question I’m trying to learn. Without a smart ass answer could someone educate me as to why Mike has Regan performing DB laterals in this fashion? It “appears” as if there’s lots of momentum I “thought” DB laterals are to be performed in a slow and controlled manner. I’m not troubleshooting or bad-mouthing this technique I’m just curious as to what way works best to isolate the medial delt thx 🤙🏽
No I understand question 100% I’m not sure if the answer made it in the video but I actually asked him in the gym why he chooses this way! If it didn’t make it in the video it’s basically a great way to reduce chance of injury, youre able to throw more weight / load in the Delts if you ask me… and I have no pain in the shoulders this way! Trust me the pump is wild and it works! Give it a try and let me know :)
@@ReganGrimes93 Thanks for the clarification Regan I really appreciate you taking the time to even acknowledge my comment 💪🏽🤙🏽. I’ll most definitely give it a shot on Tuesday since my training split has me hitting delts. I’m sure I’ll have to use a moderate weight to get use to this technique so I can get a feel for the movement. You look absolutely amazing your physique is incredible. I wish you nothing but success in the Olympia 23’
@@ReganGrimes93 Momentum is discuss in the video starts at 10:13.. Great workout Regan.. Good Luck in Italy and other shows.. thanks for great video ..
bruh, all the know it all people in the comments again dissing mike Idiots, Mike is teaching Regan his method of training he is not his personal coach or his "training Butt buddy" that train together every day. So there is limited time to teach so yes!, mike is going keep "interrupting" and intervening as he is doing the exercise to make sure that Regan is contracting and actually engaging the muscle he is trying to Hit and grow. There is a reason why the Pros like to train with mike.
Regan take full advantage of mikes training i feel like you and him should team up more because you’re one of the only guys i’ve seen understand mikes type of movement immediately and i think it will drastically improve your physique i know the pump those laterals give 🔥 and until i tried them this way i mostly felt traps mixed with side delts but you combined with his training = mr. olympia title 🏆 trust me bro been your fan since your pro card win in brazil 🇧🇷
So not much rest. Just go until u can’t is what I’m seeing. I’m trying to learn how to grow muscle. I’ve been lifting for a few years now. And I’ve grown but I definitely feel like I’ve done it wrong or could of done better
anyone else going to say it? he need to train with dorian yates so simplified he improves everyone he trains & you will know about it the day after too
You can tell who the uncoachable people in this comment section are.. queing ruining a workout is laughable.. If you can't take direction, just say that
Those lateral raises look like a joke and believe me, these are joke. Basic movements are best if you do it correctly and good intense. Dont make this too difficult. Mike is full his self.
I don’t see any difference between the standing or seat laterals, it’s doing the same function! So why so much repetition ? Also why do have have him doing like a total of 9 sets of laterals…. Seems like an overkill to me, not including the few sets of bar front raises. That’s like 10 sets. Seems far to much for one muscle group. Why?
How can anyone focus on the muscle , when your constantly making so many small adjustments? Every rep he adjusts something . Thats insane! No way any Top open pro would work with Mike for a whole prep..
I agree 1000%...I am sure he will have many defenders because he is a "UA-camr"...and perhaps he is knowledgeable...but you can be knowledgeable and be a lousy coach at the same time. Gotta be honest...if he was my trainer I would tell him 'You gotta stop with the MICRO ANALYSIS and let me lift dude...and if you can't do that....well then this aint gonna work and im ok with that"
Stupid take. He works with many top pros lol. Iain Valliere just did, regan does, Robin strand does, Antoine Vallaint does, Frank McGrath does... the list goes on and on
He literally says ,he doesn't expect people to take everything away from his style but if they take a few adjustments here and there they will be better for it. Like anything it's repetitions and practice making lighter weight work
@@nickstratton7256doesnt matter, he didnt add up to their physiques. This dude just trains fucking stupid and if you have a clue and know body mechanics then you can realise yourself that this shit is pointless/harmful
Am a fan of Mike but the constant adjustments even mid set are a bit much even from just a watching the video standpoint. Im sure it works but sometimes overcomplicating & thinking even the most basic exercises.
I love Mike's training style. It works i use it, and i look good. Your opinion is yours, nothing nice to say don't. Because you probably couldn't afford him anyway.
Why is the better built guy taking advice from that guy ??? Seen all i need to see in the first four minutes to KNOW that the so called trainer has not studied the human anatomy at all 😂 Don't start lifting until you have spent the time in the library FFS. I can prove it....ask him how many movements are needed to fully develop the legs....he will not give you the correct answer as he doesn't know 😂 such a simple answer to get correct too.😏
Yeah, concentrating on an exercise with all those micro adjustments all the time must just be irritating. You can't take in more than so much information at a time, and that is too much coaching compressed into too short time.
Clearly guys that have incredible development seem to benefit from and like the help and his movement style. But I bet your physique is perfect already and you don’t need any of that nonsense lol

I dont know why Regan hasn't been more successful with wins. Dude has a great and symmetric shape. Keep up that work, Regan.
Because when he cuts from 300lb he still looks so leaner compared to other guys on stage he is conditioned but lacks on size and frame
Hey Regan, thanks for asking Mike "why" about halfway through the video, and also adding your thoughts about what's going on. Makes a big difference in understanding.
One of the very best delt training videos I have ever watched. Great job.
Really great video for beginners to understand movement and how to get a contraction without stiffness
Great for beginners to fucking swing and get injured asap
