CM Punk has zero belief today in the things he said in that pipe bomb and one can argue he's the opposite of that person today. Steiner still believes what he said and is still that person today. Math > Pipebomb

Biggest takeaway from this show. Oli comes prepared, Laurie is a great debater, and Luke can't debate his head out of a paper bag.

Laurie didn't come accross as a "great debater" at all. Besides one round, he consistently had the weakest arguments
The greatest thing about Steiner Maths is it needs no context. The Pipebomb is all context.
As someone who doesn’t watch NRB, it’s great to see Laurie back on the wrestling stuff. Not going to lie, his inclusion is what got me to watch this as much as I did.
The legend goes that Laurie was soon fired after the stream ended by Oli.
We just witnessed the villain origin story of Ollie Davis. The look on his face, this is a broken man.

The result of this debate can easily be explained through some math.
The moment Laurie was added to the mix, Olis chances of winning DRASTIC went down. You see Oli, in a 3 way debate you got a 33⅓ chance of winning, but Luke! He got a 66⅔ chance of winning cause Laurie KNOWS he can't beat him so he is not even gonna try.
The numbers don't lie, and they spelled disaster for Oli.

Really enjoyed how you guys broke down the debate of the greatest member of the sheild, Honestly as somebody who watched from start to end Oli and Luke breaking down the rise and breakup of the faction, it was a logical starting point to begin this with the "2 birds one stone" treatment, while settling the "which promo is better" you guys also found a great way to tie the sheild breakup aftermath in nice bow. Great job.

I genuinely believe Seth is the best from the shield. Most reliable, was the one they put the belt on when Roman wasn’t ready. I think they are all on the same level but Seth always felt like the guy I wanted if I could only pick one of the 3 for my promotion.

The look on Ollie's face is one of the greatest things I have ever seen.
Ollie actually swayed me a little there, but Luke brought me back, Pipebomb mattered a lot to us that watched at the time, but Maths will outlive us and be loved by every generation. Actually wild.
Iyo VS Bayley is what I thought the best match at Wrestlemania was, too.

Pipebomb was iconic but it did nothing for anyone. Punk left. Super Cena stayed for a few years. Vince was running the company into the ground. It did nothing.
No way in hell was 12 years of consistently horrendous booking worth getting the tribal Chief character. Think of all the names that were just thrown away because "we need to get Roman over" or "We need to make Roman look strong."

Maybe even multiple choice so the last to pick gets stuck with an answer they might not want. For example: Who would win a triple threat for the U.S. title? Homelander Cody, '99 Kurt Angle, or Real American Hogan?

People need to stop saying "if you remove this stuff from this match, this other match is better." Well, yea, if you remove half of my money, I'll be poorer. But you can't take things out that actually happened. "If you take out all the things that made this match awesome, it wasn't awesome." Cody/Roman II is not just my match of the year, it's going to be remebered as arguably the greatest WrestleMania main event of all-time.
Personally: Moxley > Rollins > Roman
Roman's reign as head of the table (which really overstayed it's welcome in my opinion) does not make up for the YEARS of terrible booking we had to endure with WWE trying to get him over. I love Rollins and I always did like him more in WWE than I did Ambrose, but when Dean left and became Moxley again he had some of my favourite matches and moments in AEW and NJPW.
Really like this new format the sound just needs a bit of improvement. That’s all, nice work keep it up.

Best To Worst Overall: Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose.
Seth Rollins is Triple Crown Champion and Grand Slam Champion, was the Shield member to win the WWE Champion, won the Royal Rumble and MITB. He can cut a promo, go in the ring, get over as a face or heel, he's held three different world championships and is the only Shield member who has held the NXT Championship. Seth Rollins is considered a workhorse and the modern day Shawn Michaels.
Roman Reigns was the first Triple Crown Champion and Grand Slam Champion, he's main evented the most WrestleMania's, is the longest reigning world champion in the modern era and the 4th overall in superlative reigns. However he wasn't the best at cutting promos until he turned heel and wasn't over as a face for over 4 years. And I honestly don't think he'll be able to pull off being a face when he returns.
Dean Ambrose is also a Triple Crown Champion and Grand Slam Champion, he's a former MITB winner, he can cut a promo, was over as a face but only partially over as a heel when not apart of The Shield. He can also go in the ring but he was never given a fair shot. He was WWE Champion once for 69 days, didn't have a memorable US Championship run, never main evented WrestleMania and was only on the main roster for a little over six years, almost half the time he was teaming up with Seth Rollins or Roman Reigns if not facing them, and if he was still in WWE he might get another world title reign but no more after.

Not really. Neither Ollie or Luke think either of those promos are the best. It was just a joke because Steiner makes no sense ever and the Pipebomb is iconic despite the fact it achieved nothing. Watch the video where they talk about the 10 best promos.

Seth's win/loss record makes him the best of the group. He has lost an insane number of matches, being trusted to put over other talents and keep his own momentum through sheer star power. Meanwhile, Roman's entire career is defined by having been allowed to win every match - an opportunity almost anyone in the company could make work.

I think you should get a group of non wrestling fans to watch them both and cast a vote. No bias. No favourites. Just a good clean organic reaction and decision.
I think one thing that people who mythologise the pipebomb like to forget is that WWE was on board with it.
They didn't know exactly what it would be but Punk did not go into business for himself to tell the audience all the things they weren't supposed to hear. It is not the Daniel Bryan-story, where the fans changed the business united behind this one guy they believed in.
It was WWE's way to adress their own disgrunteld audience and bring them back ...
It took 14 years to finally get Roman Reigns over so that immediately should disqualify him from the conversation of the best member of The Shield.
Good argument, however once he got over he became the biggest star in all of wrestling, so there is that...

Not his fault WWE gave him garbage material. When he was allowed to play to his strengths the Tribal Chief happened.
The reason it took Roman so long to get over was because fans didn't want Cena 2.0 and so they were determined to hate him no matter what he did.

Suggestion: Is sacrificing the end of one year's Wrestlemania with the goal of paying it off the next year a good idea or a bad idea? It's gone well (39->40) and it's gone poorly (27->28), but should it be done at all?
I am really happy to see a debate style show being given a chance but hope that this format will be refined and shortened. For example, a strict 60 second time limit to present your argument and more focus on fantasy booking topics such as "Who should be Cena's last opponent?" rather than just "What is the best...?".
If anyone has ever listened to the BBC's Fighting Talk show then that would be a good format to adapt for wrestling. Especially the Defend the Indefensible round where the contestant has to debate in support of something they don't agree with (e.g. Oli has to argue why CM Punk is a bad wrestler).

If I may add something to the first debate in defense of Roman Reigns. He went through the most vitriol out of the SHIELD brothers. I remember those days of the Boos, the death and assault threats against Roman and his family, the fans throwing replica briefcases at him. no one would have blamed him for walking away. And yet he kept going and came out as one of the best wrestlers of our generation.
The swerve at the end should have been Laurie revealing a "Tear in my eye > pipebomb + maths" T-shirt, thus making the entire episode a draw.
I can't stand phil brooks aka c.m punk, as a man and a performer. With that c.m punk is entertaining on the microphone. I gotta say punk's pipe bomb is better than Steiner math. The only promo that comes close to the pipe bomb, is Kevin Owens on smackdown years ago, when shane was running smackdown. You could feel Owens frustrations. Mainly bc they were our frustrations. Owens went off on shane and everything that's been going on.
