I did two big junk drawers in the kitchen earlier this year and I FELT LIKE A MILLION DOLLARS. There was a nest of black twist ties in one, seriously, they were breeding in there. It is so supremely satisfying and wonderful to pull the drawer open and be able to see where everything is.
Watching your videos is a “treat” I give myself when I get a few free minutes, keep them coming. I have given up on foundation and just use a corrector and blend it in. 🙂
Seems like one junk drawer had items that should be in the bathroom. Hairbrush, hair products. Etc. maybe your bedroom is upstairs and you want to save a trip 😄. Thanks for sharing
I love lust minerals pro finish foundation! It’s so good! You can order samples to try too. It’s an Australian brand so not sure if you can get it sent to the states. I think they ship there though
Ooh for clean foundation - it's definitely not cheap, but I swear by Kjaer Weis and have done for probably 7 years plus since I used to blog on clean beauty a bit. I used to get their cream compacts which are the only thing that don't set my skin off as I'm very sensitive, however I've just tried their very new liquid foundation formulation and so far I'm liking it. The cream is definitely more buildable coverage and can easily be used as a spot concealer, but I like the liquid for a pretty light coverage, and I can use the cream compact for any problem spots or under eyes. They come in these gorgeous refillable metal compacts so low waste as well, and it's cheaper after consecutive purchases BUT they also have a new non-metal option that's cheaper, or you can just buy the refill pans and stick them in a magnetic palette if you already have one. If you want any other clean beauty recommendations let me know - it's not my beat anymore, but I did do a tonne of research on it when I was blogging. I haven't found other clean foundation brands that I like, but other things I'd recommend are also the Kjaer Weis mascara and cream blush; EcoBrow by Marco Ochoa I also swear by for brows, and I really enjoyed Lily Lolo lipsticks when I had them though haven't bought a new one in years since I don't wear a lot of lipstick. Lily Lolo also had very pigmented powder eyeshadows as well which were stunning for dramatic eyes but a bit tricky to use, so I plan on trying their pressed eyeshadows in future, as if the loose powder pigment is anything to go off I suspect they'll be really good, and a bit cheaper than the Kjaer Weis options. Anyway, long message but I hope that's helpful to you or anyone else who might be on the lookout for clean beauty :)
It's a good idea to eliminate the junk drawer all together if you are able to. That's been the biggest help to me. Usually every single item in a junk drawer has another home somewhere in the house. If it's a tool, tape measurer etc., then your tool box/garage/office, hair products, the bathroom etc.. You have to ask yourself how many times you actually pull those things out of the junk drawer to use and how much more time it would take you to walk the few extra steps to get them from the bathroom etc. When you need them. Like items being kept together in your home makes the biggest difference when it come to organization. Not only does it free up extra space, but it also makes things easier to stay organized. It was that way for me anyway. I hope this tip helps someone out there. :)
Hey Brittany! My favorite clean makeup is Bare Minerals. I'm currently trying the tinted moisturizer which has great coverage. I also like the lose powder foundation. This powder gets creamy as you buff it into your skin with the brush. Also a little bit of the powder goes a long way. The do have liquid foundation too but I haven't tried it so I can't speak to it. You know how some people say I'm so OCD??? Well I truly been diagnosed by a psychiatrist have OCD! Since 9 and I'm 52. I take lots of meds. So I can honestly tell you I do not have a junk drawer. Just watching you touch those germy shoes makes me cringe.

I worked in the Natural Products industry for 28 years. The best clean foundation I've ever used is Gabriel. Trust me, I tried everything! I worked with a lot of the major natural brands, and I had many friends who were sales reps for the major brands. So I had access to everything. Gabriel is the only brand that I stuck with. 😌
Ilia True Skin Serum Foundation topped with the Silk Naturals oil control setting powder. My face is very oily, and I also struggled to find a good combo in clean beauty.

As soon as you toss a junk drawer item, you need it 2 weeks later and have to buy a new item ☹️. I find that food mailed to me in a kit is overpriced.
