WE’ll be awaiting you guys here in Chile. We have a 4x4 camper built on Fuso Canter chassis and we have done so far two trips, 6 weeks to south from Santiago and 4 weeks to north from Santiago. We’ll be travelling to soulth again shortly, for six to eight weeks this time (need to back at home for Christmas and New year). It would be really nice to meet with you and your friends!!!

I live in the US and I am in the planning/design stages of building my own overland expedition truck to live in full time. I want the exterior length to be 5600 mm (18.37 feet) and the exterior width is were my question lies, I want to make the width 2,591 mm (8.50 feet) so it is the maximum legal width in the US and for a bit of added space in the interior but I do not want to be denied entry into a country because it is too wide. The maximum width in Europe is 2,550 mm (8.37 feet) and Australia has a width limit of 2.5 m (8 feet), would I be denied entry into Europe if my rig was slightly wider than what trucks in Europe are allowed to be? Are those width restrictions only for trucks registered in a European country? Any help would be great and very much appreciated. Best of luck with your new adventure in Chile.
