Unlike standard metronomes which simply state the time, Gap Click helps you improve your sense of time.
Gap Click focuses on improving your ability to keep tempo and become more aware of and comfortable with off beat clicks. Through this, you'll become bullet proof and accurate with all notes of the subdivision.
App Idea and concept: Benny Greb

Here’s an idea for the next-level torture: one bar of quarter notes, one bar of randomly chosen pattern
Benny hints at it at the 6:19 mark, but one of the best things to practice, in my opinion, is to play groove during the click and play a fill during the rest bar(s). 7 bars of groove+click and then 1 bar of fill+silence, or even 4+4 or something, is a great way of checking whether you rush fills (or perhaps even drag). And remember Benny's advice, keep breathing when you're playing a fill!
I remember Benny talking about this type of silent metronome practice on his instructional dvds. Great to see he made an app for just that!
It works. I was slopper than most. Been using it for about 4 days and I'm noticing an improvement. I thought I'd never be a drummer. Tried for over 10 years. I was very bitter. I was focusing on the noise rather than the space. I'm not grooving yet but i reckon very shortly. Thanks Benny!
Went to google play store and bought the app immidiatly after watching this video. Only tried for three minutes hand drumming on my knees in a hotel room but love it already. Great stuff Benny!
Pre-ordered the app for Android when it was still iOS only. It's a fantastic tool
Grap Greb's GAP app ....!!!! Awesome! Thanks, Benny and developers.
Wow very cool!!! Just got it today.. Let’s check it out
Got it! Ace metronome app. Timing check, groove check, fill check... Check!
Massive kudos for adding your own slip ups in there. Seriously, that's of massive value :)
Thanks for keeping this video ad-free, Benny, It's all advertising for you! P.S. I bought the app at minute 2:36 😄
just got the app myself, 11/10.
Used it for the last three hours and I can already feel myself adjusting to the metronome gaps/many combinations of off/on-beats and improving groove
Such an awesome app that I picked up on Friday! Thank you Benny!
..klingt interessant ! Danke für deinen Tipp , mien Jung ; - )
Thank you Aric Improta for the heads up!
I got it as soon as I read about it in your book; it is excellent and elegant in its simplicity. You the man, Benny!
you are my saviour benny. Ive been looking for exactly this gap function in a metronome app for ages. Thank you!!
Sehr gut.
The best drummer 🥁
_Man!_ I _THOUGHT_ I was a decent timekeeper until this fucking Gap Click started kicking my ass! Yeesh!! Practicing with it every day with obvious improvement. Thank you Benny for birthing what I've been praying for for _years!!_ Fiiiiinally, _it exists!!!_ 👍🏻👍🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Great drummer = great app
I consider Gap Click the n°1, exceptional!
Great job, thank you Benny for everything you have given to drums and drummers
Thank you so much for the kind words. All the best to you
You're awesome Benny. Just purchased it!
Danke für diese geile App, die mir sehr weiterhelfen wird..
😻This is an awesome app. Thank you for making this.
Tuned in to watch Benny play, found out I had no clue how to use the Gap Click features 🤣
I just got this. Thank god I found this tutorial. I’m learning Jazz guitar. Been playing blues & rock for 60+ years. Different rhythms give me such juice when I’m improvising. What I really want are more and longer examples of you playing drums WITH the Gap Click. Any thoughts on that ? Good to meet you Benny. This is Doc from Dallas. ✌️&❤️🤠
Will definitely give this a try!
Gonna be the best 3 bucks I’ve spent in years. Thanks Benny for being a never ending source of inspiration!
Servus Benny! No matter where or on what this man puts his hands on - always well thought, state of the art and just great! Hoffe, es geht dir gut und bis ganz bald! LG, Jochen 😉🥁
Perfect timing because I just downloaded it
An immediate purchase. Tnx Benny!
Benny is right. Just do it!
Fantastic video Benny! I'm going to start including this in my daily practice.
That said, just want to note how grateful I am that you exist. This is one of the most concise yet detailed product demos I have ever seen. You continue to amaze me with your almost magical ability to teach & connect with us on the other side of the screen.
Idea for improvement: give the option to count in a bar at the beginning.
Congratulations on a very cool idea 💡
Thanks Benny. Excellent. Purchased.
Just got the Gap Clivck today because of a Drumeo lesson that I am doing. Great idea, I look forward to using it starting tomorrow. Starting tomorrow, I will be embarking on a 30 day challenge to improve my timing. This took will be very useful in that process and I look forward to the next 30 days. Perhaps I will comment here again after the 30 days to update anyone interested in the progress. Thanks Benny for this most useful tool!
Looks like a very useful tool. My V-drums have a metronome with silent bars but it doesn't allow for different beat placement within a bar, and I like the idea of having the app anywhere to internalize a pattern.
I need to get this, great idea
So I got the gap click and it’s a game changer !
Love Gap click. Use it all the time.
would love to see Gap Click as a windoews app! I'm a guitarist and practice almost exclusively through amp sim software, so my headphones are already hooked up to the computer.
Great! I was looking just for that. More than happy to support you.
Perfect
Super intuitive and useful!!! 💪
Thank you benny 😊
I love this app so much! It has been very useful!
Lovely as Always :D
yeah.
Benny this metronome app is awesome, supper easy to use, I love it
Thanks you a lot🥁🥁👍👍
Thanks a lott benn!!! I already trying the app with mi bandd. Really usefull. And there are like 8 different sound for the click. For any tasteee
Great app! Great video, Benny! I love the Ghost Busters nods by the way. I remember when you came to my hometown of Kingston, ON Canada, you mentioned how influential that movie is to you. That subject came up after someone mentioned that Dan Ackroyd is from here. Lol. Cheers, mate. Thank you 🙏🏼
Thanks stephen. Yeah I'm a huge Ghostbusters fan! I remember that clinic and really hoped that Dan would drop by. :-)
Been using it for a while - been doing somethings you said but was hard for me to change to the 2nd column and how to use it. That video helped
The BEST BENNY😍🤤🙏
Just bought the app after watching the video. It's great! Would be even better if more time signatures were added (9, 11, 13, 15, 17, etc.)
I have been using the Gap Click for a few months and i love it, it is for sure helping my timing.I have mainly used the gap section, but now I will try the other way to use this. This is a very helpful video, thank you!
great
Top de mais 👏👏👏
Danke.
This is my favorite metronome app by far, is it possible to sync it out with a daw to record my progress? That’ll be so awesome
One simple thing I like to practice with Gap Click is: set it to one measure of quarter notes, one measure of silence, then play singles or doubles, switching back and forth between two note values (8th notes and triplets, triplets and 16th notes, quarter note triplets and 8th notes, etc.) at the start of the silent measures. This will expose any lack of precision and consistency that would get covered up by a continuous click. Paradiddles would be good too, although quarter note triplet paradiddles require 4 measures before changing to 8th notes, if you want to avoid changing lead hands.
Hello @Benny Greb! Is it possible to make the different offbeat divisions available for the main click content instead of only the "gap" content? Often I enjoy playing with an offbeat 8th or second 16th note click for a main click, right now these divisions are only available for the gap. Thank you for the wonderful app and all the years of sharing your wonderful art with us!
Please make it for Mac as well. I have it on my iPhone and iPad and it is quite useful. The options available on the Mac App Store are terrible.
Great video ! There are a few extra ways to use it now that I never thought about before . Thank you Benny
Missed opportunity to call it the Greb Click!
haha ... yes!
This is grooviest app I've seen in a while. Much appreciated!
Sincerely: Charlie the Swedish Drummer.
Guitarists: Use it! ;)
Hi Benny just bought the App. Just a suggestion, it would be great if you can also split the content, meaning Content 1 normal, Content 2 syncopated, Conten 3 , etcc.
Can we also have info about large stickbag behind you Benny?
Can you add a feature for swing percentages?
does it have random gaps ? configurable lengh ?
How can I set a diferent time signature that isn't in quarter notes?
can you make an mac os version?
So you can sort of emulate trading fours with this? That’s p doap
Hi @benny for some huawei models Is not possibile to download your app because there Is no google service. Would be possibile to you ti make an app for this kind of devices?
ill look into that, thanks for letting me know
@@bennygrebofficial To expand on this, new and future Huawei devices (and other Chinese brands) don't offer Google services, which means no Google Play Store. Making your app available in alternative stores such as F-Droid, 1Mobile, and Aptoide can help with this.
@@DrBackBeat Thanks for this additional info! I will add this to the list. 👍🏻
How awesome is Ghostbusters, right?!
This will be helpful, and for only 3 bucks (USD) it can't be beat.
[no pun intended....really.]
Só faltou a legenda em português.

Android 🥺
I predict that in as little as five years, general education will prepare the average graduate to program an app like this for themselves and add/modify features whenever they have the need, and the value of something like this will be extremely reduced.
hmm thanks for the info
@@bennygrebofficial No prob, lemme know if you need any more help.
