Had it two years ago and thought it was too malty. Tried it again since my craft beer-loving friend said it was one of his all time favs, and, lo and behold, I tasted the pineyness and hops that made it go over the top for me as far as drinkability. Cheers!
Been drinking 90 min since 2010 and they definitely have gotten more consistent with their hop freshness. The older beers even fresh, were a bit sweeter and now the hop presence is a lot more apparent, which is a good thing since they are saying its a Double IPA.
I bought a stovepipe can of this beer tonight at Sprouts. I think it's too malty and sweet. I like my IPAs to be no higher than 8% ABV. I really wish Lagunitas would bring back Hop Stoopid. That was a really good double West Coast-style IPA and it was 8% ABV.
The thing about this beer for me is the following. I can't answer the question of what's the best beer I've ever had. I've had so many great ones. I can answer the question what beers do you most remember first trying? 90 Minute is on that shortlist. Damn, my palate has changed, but when 90 came out, I literally saw stars. lol
Ya it is a good 90 minute ipa Monday i bought a 6 pack of it at my local grocery store for 13.99 + tax total 15.22 ill rate it 90 because it is 90 minutes ya this beer needs to be more hoppy more grassy more big dank so it can be more good and ill rate it higher and the bitterness was medium high for a 9 % like if it was a waldo lagunitas ipa then ill will be good cheers from Phoenix arizona
Happy to see that you revisit this beer because I know you didn’t like it on your previous review. It’s quite an interesting beer. There’s a lot going on. The earthy aromas you describe it is a good way to describe cause I can’t describe the aromatic without some help. Very malty beer ipa, it’s pretty solid. I thought you were gonna say 85 but I’m surprised you gave it 91.
This one has always been unique in the IPA world. An early entry, its flavor profile never take took off to become imitated, and it barely seems to fit into any usual idea of what an IPA should taste like. To me it's the IPA that's getting left behind... (And I don't love it, so I don't mind it being left behind.)

You probably had a fresher bottle the second time!
That too! 😂 And my more refined palate?
@@schulmaniac That's also possible!
@@DarwinsBeerReviews I’ll take that assumption from the “Palate Pundit” himself!

Glad to hear they're improving after all these years on quality.

Don't get me into it. I loved those 750ml Hop Stoopid bottles. Had it my gas station!

You got it!
Right on
Cheers!

That's awesome. How long ago was that you first tried 90?

Good rating. But yeah, that's a decent price for a DIPA.
Love these classics reviews
Cheers! Thanks!
Classic OG East Coast IPA.
I gotta do a video about that actually.

Yeah, it's still very solid and tastes like I was put in a time machine a bit, but still stands the test of time.
You are awesome
Thank you!
Palo Santo Marron next????
If I can find it!
They discontinued it…
And IBA as well…🤷♂️
An even greater classic!
Cheers!
I like when these are on clearance for $1, wouldn't buy a 6 pack though
And they're old by then?
Yea but it's already a malty beer, I don't notice much difference haha
I really like this version!
I do like the art too!
Been a while since I had this. Last time I was underwhelmed.
I've drank through the beers. I will say I wouldn't go nuts for it again.

Interesting take on the beer. Thanks for sharing!
