Staple of mine summer 2022 but yes it's one you only have one of in a night, but keep returning to again and again! Here in Finland it's affordable for the abv and good quality, so it served me well as a pre going out drink that I'd just have 1 of 👍🏻
Great review as always. Been watching for years. Just wanted to point out that it has always been called Torpedo Extra IPA. They just changed the label graphic. It's one of my favorite beers of all time.
I loved this beer when it first appeared -- at a time when the beer-world needed a full-flavored, reasonably-priced IPA. My palate has changed; today I can barely choke it down. The malt base seems inordinately sweet -- and the sweetness clashes hideously with the bitter hops.
@@DarwinsBeerReviews Troegs Perpetual and Lollihop are two that I like. It's weird; IPA was my favorite style when I started out exploring the world of good beer. Today I prefer just about every other classic style: saisons, stouts, hefeweizens, doppelbocks, etc.
My shelfie IPA. Even here it's hard to find super fresh (6 weeks or less in a can/bottle) but when successfully found the brightness of the hops (Citra?) really shine. I looked at the SN web site and the hop bill is Citra, Crystal, Magnum, so no Cascade or Centennial which is interesting.
Been in my top 5 for 20 years. Im all about bitter.
So bitter. So tasty.

Good choice. Glad it makes it all the way out there.
Two a night for me! 😁
I believe it has been called "Extra IPA" since it's inception.
As always, love your reviews! Cheers!
Thanks for the heads up! My bad!
It has.
this beer is a 5/5 for me.
It is darn good. Cheers!

Huh! I guess I never paid enough attention. Thanks!

Great beer really enjoy it.
So good! Cheers!
A classic, my go to IPA. Have you had the Atomic Torpedo one?
I will seek it out!
@@DarwinsBeerReviews I believe it's only available in 19.2oz cans, Kroger has it.
@sadekx5251 they sell it in 12oz x 6 cans as well.
@@gfbmusic Not available in GA in that format 🥲
Love the torpedo, the atomic not so much😢
Pale Ale is top tier. Torpedo is a solid brew. Sierra Nevada is top 5 breweries for HG - easy.
Pale Ale is the classic!

Glad this is your IPA. I get Jai Alai, but this is also a great choice.
I prefer Atomic.
I like this one.
To me, the Pale Ale has always had more perceived bitterness than Torpedo. I like them both but prefer the Pale Ale.
The exact opposite for me. For me, the Pale Ale seems lacking in both hop flavor and bitterness compared to this and other IPA's.
Weird. I definitely taste the opposite. Torpedo way more bitter.
Love this beer, especially for the price.
Amazing beer. Cheers!
