Out of all the reaction channels out there, you are by far the best and most genuine. I can see in your face how I felt 70s & 80s when I first heard them. I get to re-live those moments again. You’re so sweet and you have the most amazingly gorgeous eyes I’ve ever seen. Take care.
The moment when the synth line comes in at 1.06 and you break into that beautiful smile means only one thing - you are well and truly hooked! An absolute game-changer of a track and a joy to watch you experience it for the first time! :) x
They started in 1978 as joy division and when the lead singer died they became new order and became one of the best selling groups they sold the most 12 inch albums sell all time
I’m a metal head and I think this is one of the greatest songs of all time. Edit: and I fell all over myself trying to click on this. Couldn’t do it fast enough!
Classic. Kicks equally hard in the biggest clubs or the tiniest headphones. Along with Giorgio Moroder, this was the moment when machine sounds became beautiful...
@@18Darshan63 I do. And I did. :) (We miss Florian.) I was hoping somebody would pick that one up, and--- OK, nobody would ever describe Kraftwerk as being as "gritty" (nice word) as Suicide or Silver Apples. But by comparison, they also weren't as deliberately *pretty* as Moroder. (Don't get me wrong; I'm not at all saying there's not beauty in Kraftwerk, especially "Autobahn"...)
SYNTH"S baby! lol this runs back time a little. Blue Monday in the original sleeve was die cut with silver inside the sleeve. It was so costly they lost money each time they sold one lol.
I remember when this came out, I was in the Air Force and this was FIRE at dance clubs! No computers, amazing in its time! Still better than anything you dance to here now in 2021....hands down!
Your facial expressions throughout this are a joy to behold. Thank goodness for wide-screen, because your smile fills it... for dayssss! A great reaction 👍
Your happy and beautiful wide smile was perfectly fitting to the feelings I still have whenever I hear this masterpiece of a song. It was a part of my childhood and I think it was one of the songs that layed the foundations of my taste in music. Thank you for listening and reacting to it. :-)
Thankyou for letting us watch you how you reacted to this song. I’m sure we all danced to this song back in the 80s any and every club was playing this song and it really got the party started. And I have to say your beautiful outfit and your beauty even made it that much better watching you react to this song so Thankyou this was special.
@@Skiptondesigns I don't think they even had sequencers back then, reason I say that is because they sounded really bad live and couldn't replicate some of their songs live. These days totally different case of course.
great reaction video.. u have a beautiful smile... hope u smile a lot throughout ur day.... Neway look forward to watching more reactions on ur channel.
This song was also used as theme tunes to a TV program called the clothes show . The instruments in the song were probably a lot less than you would think .
I love watching first reactions to this, Blue Monday remains one of the great tracks, even after soooo long. Like Colin says, best selling 12" of all time, changed music. Just awesome seeing new fans, hope you enjoy more New Order and Joy Division!
I had totally forgotten about this song, thank you for reminding me that its out there! I love watching your videos, your smile when you first get into a song is amazing
Quintessential 80s vibe.. Huge at the dance clubs.. "Bizarre Love Triangle", "Perfect Kiss", "True Faith", and "Ceremony" (Fave) all New Order.. Great reaction!! #Cool
For sure you need to be at a club on the dance floor when hearing this song!! Great reaction really fun vibe awesome Empress!! you took me back to the clubs in the 80s :)
This song is always fun at clubs - basically people with a natural talent for or training in music stands out as the only ones that changes their style of dance with the music. New Order also has the excellent song "Sub-culture", well worth a listen (they also have "Bizarre Love Triangle" for something even more mellow).
New Order was created out of a tradgedy. They started as Joy Division wich among professional musicians is hold as one of the pioneers in changing the music industry completely. Singer Ian Curtis suffered from depression and took his on life. Rest of the crew continued as New Order. When all this happened I had been a Joy Division fan for years and when Blue Monday was released it hit me and the rest of the world like a ton of bricks! The memories of dance nights to this tune in clubs in Copenhagen and Berlin will follow me into the grave!
Random fact: the bass line is copied from the soundtrack to Clint Eastwood's Western For A Few Dollars More (one of the sequels to the Good the Bad and the Ugly).
If your looking for songs Level 42 Lessons in love is a good song from the 80's but not as big as Blue Monday. A really big hit from the 80's dance is A E I O U and sometimes Y by Freeze.
Legendary track in England to this very day, from the 90’s!! Please review possibly the best electronic track of the 80’s - Visage and Fade to Grey. I think you’ll love it.
Proper Manc tune. 1983. United won the cup, this filled dance floors, you still hear it played in bars. I still have the 12 inch. Original sleeve. Manchester's finest
I could see from your lovely expression you loved the song, they were huge in the 80s one of my favourite bands sheer class, they were joy division until the singer died unfortunately then became new order, they had countless hit songs,if you can, play True Faith another monster hit for them I'm sure you will like pure 80s gold, sorry but then and now are two different planets love your videos ,keep safe and stay well..
I love your reaction to this masterpiece. What was it like in the clubs? I can smell the dry ice and sweat! Sounds just as fresh today and its nearly 40 years old, which makes me feel old because I was 18 when it came out...

Ceremony, Temptation also - their music inspires so many young bands now from England and Australia. They just released a song Rebel last year during lockdown, which proves they can still come up with a great tune
When you asked if there were a lot of instruments played for this song, actually not many. This was one of the new dance records made with drum machine and Synthesizer. Huge in the clubs. Just like their other records.
The original single was only released as a 12 inch single with a cover designed like a 5” floppy disk. Unfortunately, because the cover was so expensive to reproduce, the record company had to stop releasing the single as the cost of production was greater than the returning income.
This song literally changed music forever. It's the best selling 12" single of all time.
et le moins rentable ^^
Crazy. I didn’t know this. I thought it was a long-forgotten hidden gem until Orgy resurrected it.
What is 12"? What does 12" mean?
@@MaleOrderBride 12 inches, it’s how big the vinyl is, for instance a 7” is a single
@@jacobrayner6985 what is a "vinyl"?
Takes me back to my 80's years, was a delight seeing your expression change as you got into it. Impossible not to dance to.

They actually formed before that as Warsaw.
1977 they begin
1980 then they released it in 88. So ahead of its time. #1 selling single in Europe still today. Every club played it in the 1980s all over the world.
Personally I don't think they should have bothered. You can't mess with a masterpiece

If you haven't heard orgy's version, they do a decent heavy /emo version. Not quite metal but heavy than the original
@@jszordan I heard it. I found it to be mediocre. It’s missing something.

In 1984 in my last year of high school in New Zealand we used this as the backing track to a road safety we made for a competition and managed to win.
To me this still has a modern vibe even if nearly 40 years old. Back in the 80s, 40 year old music sounded really old.
I guess you guys aren't ready for that, yet. But your kids are gonna love it.
I think the kitchen sink got thrown at this song, it's ace.
The 80's were the best days. Empress what a great choice x
You bet

80s music was so fun to dance to!
I was laughing so hard when you paused it literally just before the vocals came in and said "it's two minutes in and there's no voice" lol
To think they wrote and played this from scratch - no computers, ipads - pro tools. Magnificence. Work of Art
Back when you needed to know how to sing and play instruments.
they used sequencers which kept everything in time
